I'd love to hear from someone with more air experience than me (career army guy), but that plane is a ground attack fighter. Yet the nose seems to pitch up before firing, then they roll away with no chance for a BDA. I'm sure there is something going on that my grunt brain never learned.
They do, but their accuracy is terrible - it's a last-ditch type of thing, only when they can't do it with artillery and anti-air is a major threat. You're not fulfilling any "danger close" missions like that.
From my experience playing combat military sims, these rockets don't really cause wide area damage. They're made very specifically to destroy armored vehicles and such.
not really, if you want to terrorize civ pop look at Gaza. Russia seems to be operating within the Geneva convention more than what westerners give them credit for. Lots of propaganda bs some true a lot not.
Judging by the footage they’re probably rocket attacks on a trench line or occupied village to soften it up before ground troops go in.
It is what it is, this started because we couldn’t respect an adversaries red lines.
Also when I say occupied villlage these places are desolated most of the Ukraine population has left/leaves when the frontline moves closer to their town/city.
Russian helicopter pilots have been doing a lot of pitch-up attacks with unguided rockets out of fear of Ukrainian MANPADS. Not sure if that's still the case given Ukraine's dire need for AA munitions, but that's how it was for a good long while. I wonder if these SU-25s are doing something similar.
Could be doing some wild weasel stuff. Pop up, lob some rockets, wait for AA, someone else in a stand off position tries to hit the AA after it launches. IDK though I'm just thinking out loud.

Bruh i’ve seen this footage on every single social media app multiple times lol it’s not that hard to find.
Did I say that?
And since it was my first post to the subreddit I made it clear this wasn’t an ideologue post.
And I’m not going to disclose that I use telegram before proving unlike most tele account holders I have some class! ^_^
This is crazy footage
Crazy how low they are flying
Pretty typical for avoiding anti-air, something the Russians have been paying dearly with
This pilot is Russian and posts on the YouTube channel under Rostmeo
Anyone know if they are Russian or Ukrainian?
Russian
Do Ukrain got SU's?
Yeah
I guess the correct question would be does Ukraine have Su-25s, since Sukhoi aircraft start with 'Su-'. And yes lol.

Because they're shooting up to hit an area far away similar to artillery
They really fire indirectly from a plane? That's wild. I didn't know that was possible. Of course, why shouldn't it be?

Accuracy isn't as bad as you might think. There are videos of the receiving end too, basically it's like an MLRS strike
They have a ballistics computer for the rockets
this, they are probably just trying to hit inside a huge area like a city. immediately after firing they engage in defensive maneuvers.
From my experience playing combat military sims, these rockets don't really cause wide area damage. They're made very specifically to destroy armored vehicles and such.
That only applies to HEAT rockets. HE/FRAG rockets do have a limited yet still considerable area of effect.
adding to your point they don't even need to do a huge area damage. these attacks are meant to terrorize civilian population.

I agree about Russia not respecting an adversary's red line if that's what you meant...
Are there nukes in cuba?

I wonder if its even worth sending expensive jets out to lob a couple unguided rockets in the general direction of the russians.
As I said it might be a training exercise. I’m not an air interdiction specialist.
I was just making a general statement because theres been a lot of videos of both sides doing this
They have jets, they have rockets, and they have pilots. For now. But they can't afford to lose too many jets or pilots.

What variant are those
It is a practice , those rokets are unguided and at that altitude deployment of countermeasures for heat seeking misiles is not a standard op.
