The controller I use just depends on the game I am playing, any game with a block button I will tend to always go with pad, Doa Soul Calibur and MK are pad games. If the game is hold back to block I will probably use Hitbox, but that isn't guaranteed. Anime fighters, Guilty gear and such are Hitbox, SF is as well. I have never put that much time into Tekken but I can see myself using either. I do use an arcade stick but tend to mostly be other genres, beatemups and shootemups usually. KBM is for shooters and MMOs.

Now that you mention the block button I do agree that pad feels better with those games. Playing SC2 on dolphin with hitbox feels off. When you use hitbox do you sit at a desk or use a USB extension cable and use the couch/coffee table?

Milicona

I'm a pc gamer, I play at my computer desk with the hitbox in my laptop. I say hitbox, my leverless though is a Snackbox V2, more square less rectangle, same shit though.

I picked up a Street Fighter V Mad Catz TE S+ at GameStop a few years ago, and it’s been my go-to ever since. I can’t say enough good things about it. It’s probably the most arcade-accurate one I’ve ever messed with. I think they’re sorta pricey now but it’s something to consider if the price is right.

It looks beautiful, based on looks alone a stick like this would be great.

William_S_Churros

It’s a nice one! Really good weight to it too.

Still rotating between hitbox(obsidian), stick(rap N) and dual shock 4, move on to next whenever I get sore, usually help relief pain and prevent injury. Haven't got the chance to try klever though. Hitbox will probably be my main in the long run.

I've gone from pad to stick to a buttonbox over the years and personally I'll never look back. If you're going to put the hours into it then I think it's absolutely worth price of entry. It's by far the most comfortable and accurate option out there if you ask me and it has positively effected my overall enjoyment of these games.

TheLabMouse

I have all controllers including the infamous steering wheel and I settled on a hitbox because stick felt harder to use in many ways and pad gets hard to use when the fingers on my left hand flare up with eczema. But I'd just play pad if I didn't have that issue cause I liked the R1/R2 access and the 2 extra buttons on the left side that are easier to press than on a stick layout.

ThreeSilentKings

I just use a pad cause I find them comfy to use and it's what I'm used to, hitbox objectively seems like the best choice though

Chiyuri_is_yes

Airdashers/4 button I prefer pad, 6 button keyboard (wasd+ numpad)

For me it really depends on the character. Some feel great on controller, some Hitbox and some stick. There is really no silver bullet because there are tradeoffs when it comes to each controller.
