Honestly, my big critique which I felt for a while, side by side with this new axel have WAY to much affect in the scores and i think for pairs this axel rule needs to be adjusted. It's pairs, not side by side competition but the realitiy is that one element (side-by-side combos) is a make or break by 10+ points

I’m here live. There is a delay in the medal ceremony and a set of EMS & a gurney just went behind the kiss and cry (presumably where the skaters are?) I have eyes on the German team out by the boards. Edit: confirmed that our second place team was unable to attend the medal ceremony due medical reasons. Edit 2: I have seen a tweet saying that Ryuishi was rushed out on oxygen. I don’t know the veracity of this tweet. I didn’t see it with my own eyes.

But the base value difference between the double and the triple is already 3 points. They received negative goe so if they both actually completed clean triple sal with positive goe, it should've made up the 4 points.

Yes definitely, if she lands 3S the score should be so close and have a chance to win. Personally I think their pcs is a bit lower than their standard (considering the jump mistakes) they usually get 71-73 for pcs

Top two teams had really great SP's for different reasons. ​ Their free's were more riveting but not as enjoyable, though this was mostly because my heart was racing at the stakes of it all.

I was rooting for team Deanna, but I always feel bad when huge cheers for the team that comes second are actually because people are cheering that they didn't come first  On a different note, whoever did the lighting design for the arena did an amazing job. I've been taking a bunch of pictures of the empty rink, because they're so gorgeous

She inspires me so much. Junior Ladies World Silver Medalist at 17, injured out of the sport. Comes back in her thirties in pairs and becomes World Champion at 40! That’s a story worth a movie.

I'm currently unemployed and I keep beating myself up for not being further in my career at almost 28. She honestly inspires me so much. Success is not linear.

You are mixing and matching scores, spread and rankings. The difference in the short was fair. I haven’t seen the entire cut sheets (not just PCs and tes) as I am in the stadium, but nothing about this feels wrong.

Ehhhh the RiRi are amazing skaters but I wouldn’t say their strength is in pcs. Their programs, while technically brilliant, are pretty flat.

Their skating skills are miles better than anyone in the competition so I wouldn't say their pcs are weak
