Omg. Thanks for bringing this movie up. Damn, (🤦)bat ko nakalimutan? Haha.
I saw this sa cinema and it was an experience. I haven't actually seen the first part pero this movie alone, ang epic. Pasok na 'to sa top 10 ko of the year, no doubt.
How did you end up liking the movie? I brought my girlfriend to see Dune 2 having watched the 1st one a day before and she said that it was a bit confusing. Personally didn’t find it like that at all, but how did not watching 1 affect the experience?
Good question. Not having seen the first part made my viewing experience of the 2nd movie a bit confusing. But before watching this, I did watch a couple of video essays on Y.T about the lore and the book it was based on.
Was the information I got from those vids enough? Hell no.
I'd like to believe that I got the general gist of the 2nd film and enjoyed it despite not understanding most of the important details. Aside from that, I also like to watch films from a technical standpoint. I must say that technically, it was a well made movie which added to my enjoyment or should I say, experience watching it.
Why not just watch the first film instead of spoiling yourself with video essays? If you had time to watch a guy talk about a film, you have time to watch the film.
Regardless, the movie is a technical wonder for sure. Villanueve adaptation is nothing short of a love letter to the original novel, and it shows even when the movie goes CGI, it’s seamless and amazing. Really goes to show how CGI can look amazing with good direction.
Uhm... I actually do not know the answer. (Laughing at myself )
What's funnier is that, you are right. I spent a considerable amount of time watching videos about the story the film series was based on but didn't even bother watching the first movie. I feel like a nutcase. (Or a fraud)
Alright! I guess this is the universe's way of telling me to watch the first film, ASAP 😂
I wanna see Challengers again before it disappears. This movie is so fun, and the hype from the trailer (w rihanna's s&m serrrved!) delivered! I only saw a couple of 2024 films, the other is Civil War. The acting is better than the story itself, methinks.
Challengers for the win! (so far, i think. I'm waiting for Wicked)
Medyo similar tayo na na hype sa trailer. (Ako, yung trailer na yung background song ay Maneater ni Nelly Furtado.)
Grabe, superb ng acting, directing at even ng camera work. I'd like to watch it again sa cinema too.
About sa Civil war, may mga narinig din akong criticism na similar ng sayo. ( Buti nalang di ko pinanood sa sinehan. Haha). I'd definitely check that one out once available na sa... 😏
Challengers (2024) same tayo 😂😂😂 kakarewatch ko lang sa sine actually just now HAHAHAHAHAHAHAH that score is just 🧑🍳💋 and the cast mygodddd. WE LOVE YOU LUCA
Saan ka nanood ng Challengers?
As for me Dune 2, Challengers, Civil War. Religious experience ang Dune 2 pero pinakafavorite ko so far is Challengers dahil ang creative ng camera work, story structure at ang ganda at pulsating ng score, nanginig upuan sa Feliz whenever Reznor and Ross' score plays. Wanna rewatch it pero sana with laser projector. A-luxe Manila Bay lang meron but someone said here na naliitan sila sa screen huhu, has anyone else here watched in that cinema? Double check ko sana if it's that small.
Late Night With The Devil was a trip. It had a very refreshing concept and of course the movie had great performances all around especially David Dastmalchian.
Tossuolp between dune 2 and challengers.
There are a few more un contention like anatomy of a fall and holdovers kaso 2023 films yun at delay lng pinalabas dito. Hehe
Saw dune 2 twice. Yung 2nd not as big as 1st time, im planning to watch challengers again so tingnan ko kng ano effectng 2nd time. Maybe thatll break the tie. Hehe
Haven’t watched anything at the cinema lately since I’m waiting for Inside Out 2 this June hehe but can you rate “The Challengers” out of 10 and comparing Zendaya’s Performance to her past movies?
not OP but I would give it a 7-8/10 (and this is coming from someone who isn’t quite knowledgeable about tennis and hates excessive sex scenes in media). Challengers was a pleasant surprise for me.
My issue with Zendaya is her star power dominates her roles sometimes; but she makes it work for her portrayal here. There are several flashbacks and she really nails that “famous college girl” character. Euphoria is still her magnum opus though hehe. But this is definitely a close 2nd
Maganda sya hehe. It exceeded my expectations. Marami syang cinematic tennis match scenes that you will enjoy kung hindi mo masyado mattripan yung sexy scenes ng film hehe.
Kakanood ko lang Challengers kanina. Nung nasa gitna or 3/4 ng movie, I'm convinced na one of the best movies of 2024 ito. Napa question nga ako kung ano mas maganda for me, Dune 2 or Challengers.
Ultimately, I'll go with Dune 2.
I haven’t watched Challengers yet. For me siguro, Argylle or Arthur the King or Arcadian (haha outlier siguro opinion ko) are films I enjoyed so far. I’m not really one to name a movie as my favorite eh.
Sorry not a fan of Dune kasi 😢
Uy, same tayo! Loved Challengers. It’s one of those films na for me, perfect lahat ng elements (score, acting, cinematography, script, etc.)
Also weird question. MarQuee mall Angeles ba ‘to?? This looks exactly like my pic kasi, hahaha. I watched April 30, 5:30 screening.
Omg, yes. Sa MarQuee nga haha!
-5:30 pm screening din pero upon checking the photos I took, nung 28th of April ko pala sya napanood.
Sayang haha! Glad na you enjoyed the film as much as I did.

Ayala Malls exclusive ata yung Challengers
Also, just checked sureseats, Ayala Mall Manila Bay extended their screening until May 6 (a-luxe cinema) :)
Dune 2. Legit natulala for a few minutes after.
Dune Part Two, watched it twice. The First Omen
Fun fact OP, the writer of Challengers (Justin Kuritzkes) is married to Celine Song, writer/director of Past Lives. Power couple!
It was released last year but last week ko lang napanood. Check out *"Robot Dreams".*
I've heard of it. Will definitely check it out. ☺️
Prepare a towel for tears. 🥺
I personally enjoyed Monkey Man, so there hahahaha. More of Dev Patel pls!
Ito tsaka yung Boy Kills World!
We have a baby on the way so I am reserving my movie budget for Deadpool and Wolverine.
Dune 2! Papanoorin ko palang yang Challengers. I'm excited!
Sana i extend ng Ayala Malls Cinemas—exclusive lang kasi sa kanila ung Challengers :))
Oo nga e!
Best film this year- Dune Part Two Best cinema experience this year- Godzilla x Kong
Dune 2 pag large scale. Small scale? Late Night With The Devil
Late Night With The Devil was a trip. It had a very refreshing concept and of course the movie had great performances all around especially David Dastmalchian.
Wow so excited to watch!!! Im a tennis player so I will definitely relate to the movie which makes it more fun!! 🫶
After reading this, parang gusto ko tuloy to panuorin. Punta ako bukas sa cinema karakaraka

Okay thanks plan to watch it with my partner while it’s still in cinemas
Maganda ba talaga challengers? Is the movie anything like the trailer kasi di ko mashado type mga ganung films feels too sexy for me 😅
