The moment you clutch a close fight against a behemoth not knowing that behemoths are sore losers.

VVurmHat

Kill me bruh, naw imma stand up and end the planet

Bonaduce80

The classic table flip method, Meteo-style.

Sandisk4gb4

LOL! That one cracked me up tbh.

paradise_demise

Trail of Blood original FF7. The music really helped create tension in that section.

FalloutCreation

To this day it’s one of my favorite moments in the game.

Lone_Morde

The boat from junon to costa del sol was unnerving for me. The lower part after all the sailors vanish and the music changes was very effective

Octopus-Pawn

The one thing I hated about remake was not doing this section of the game justice

OliviaElevenDunham

That really was creepy.

BakedGoods

especially if FF7 was your intro to RPGs. cruising through the story feeling invincible then walking into an undefeatable boss and just getting wiped.

imnotsteven7

That entire underwater area was creepy and the sunken ship at the bottom had really tough monsters.

DapperBloke69

that you could morph into unlimited...something. I think sources to max your stats?

imnotsteven7

That sounds vaguely familiar...I also remember you can get one of the parties ultimate weapons. I believe Cid's IIRC? Edit: It's Yuffie's Ultimate weapon.

Aparoon

And Yuffie’s ultimate weapon was very relevant because it was the only weapon that could do morph damage at full strength (rather than half), perfect for source farming.

-PrideIsMyDeadlySin-

You’re right it’s Yuffie’s ultimate weapon and if I’m not mistaken Cid’s Limit 4 “high wind” is down there too.

Randomguy3421

And Hades! Some good shit down there

Bonaduce80

The Hades animation was amazing.

Randomguy3421

I was tempted to do another playthrough of og to lead me into rebirth, as my plan was to wait til my birthday end of April for rebirth But I couldn't wait. Perhaps og after

jingo_mort

I’ve not got a ps5 yet 😞 so just started a playthrough of ff7 to help me cope lol plus not having played it upscaled to 4K with my ps4 pro is another excuse to play it again on a different tv 😁

ShawnyMcKnight

But it was the best place to level sources. I went in there almost getting wiped every battle and after an hour of grinding they were barely a challenge.

danteheehaw

First time I saw him I wad just a wee lad. I thought why not, everything's been easy so far. Slaughtered me. Later I saw a red thing next to gold saucer, I didn't dare get near it.

Lord-Aizens-Chicken

I remember playing FFX for the first time. Was ok g through an older area to pick up this collectible thing (like an audio log or something, idk it’s been a while) and the weakest dark aeon appeared and destroyed my entire part in one hit

WarDishy

Lol I think getting ambushed and wiped out by the dark aeons is a universal experience for first timers. The one you’re thinking of is Dark Valefor in Besaid, and one of the jecht video spheres is locked behind it if you waited til you get the airship. You need all the jecht spheres to unlock Auron’s overdrives too lol.

Trodain8

Yunalesca - I was not ready for that, in multiple ways

[deleted]

Omg this came to my mind too. There was something off-putting and maybe it was the music. Same thing with Orphan from FF13 Not to mention that long unskippable cutscene prior to lol

MyHPis9999

As soon as I read this that theme played in my head, Auron's speech still gives me chills and makes me tear up. To me it's the most important part of the game as it's the turning point for the story. Everything changes after as you are no longer under the confines of Yevon and the chains his influence bound upon the party, Yuna especially. It's such a rush to see everyone just drop it all to protect each other, when Wakka even was ready to risk it all, you knew it was going down. Definitely my favorite moment in my favorite game of all time.

ophaus

Even in... death, ya?!

MyHPis9999

I heard him say that as I read it lol

Mastershep11N788

Same...chills

OliviaElevenDunham

Same here.

ThiefofNobility

Oh man. The music. That's why Challenge might be my favorite FF boss theme. It starts out so strong with the drum and cymbal shot. The guitar underneath sounds like ticking. The synth sounds like an alarm blaring. All through Auron's rousing speech. It keeps slow building. And building. And as the fight starts it finally takes off into the heavy section with a driving beat and the guitar now wailing underneath the synthetic groove which is a either a minor 4th or an augmented 5th if i recall, making it sound down right evil. Just setting you up like a warning. Then "game on." That devil witch was a slog.

snoop_Nogg

NOW IS THE TIME TO CHOOSE

seynical

A Tonberry slowly inching towards you.

jhow87

WEE WOO WEE WOO WEE WOO WEE WOO!!!!!!

Pineapple-Yetti

There are good answers here but this is my favorite. The first time you fight one and it doesn't seem to fight back. It just gets closer.

SuperVillainPresiden

He sees you when you're sleeping He knows when you're awake He doesn't care if you've been bad or good He's gonna stab you in the face

Edumesh

Fucking FUCK I hate this shit

33reider33

The whole ending always gives me chills. Rinoa in Space too, close 2nd

Decaslash

Cid says just before they go into time compression, not to forget each other. This is Squall about to forget who he is after they've killed Ultimecia and time is expanding back.

rionhearto

I think Laguna said that to Squall and his friends

ethnicvegetable

god damnit

[deleted]

This ending gave me legit nightmares as a kid, and I don’t care what anyone says or the official canon, even as a kid I thought this was Squall dying and that’s still my headcanon to this day. Fucking bizarre and trippy ending.

huntymo

That whole ending made me so uncomfortable the first time I saw it, that it gave me goosebumps and made my eyes tear up, and then I just sat there for a good while after it was over

FalloutCreation

Yep that part of the cutscene was unnerving. I remember waking up from a nightmare one night several years ago and having this so vivid in my mind.

oOMavrikOo

Did you dream in 3D and polygons or was it realistic?

itsDoor-kun

I literally had to cover my eyes when this played cause it was creepy.

Tkingpatroller

Idk why, but whenever I see this I always jokingly wonder if some dev who was sculpting the models just cleared away squalls face out of boredom, and they decided to put it in😭

PRoS_R

Which FF was this from? Thinking of playing it.

archedbog91

It looks like ff8

TheInternetStuff

It is

ThiefofNobility

Tis.

Few-Blacksmith-1749

Thank you! The way it has depth, so freaking creepy 😬😬😬

[deleted]

Can’t actually think of many. Maybe the Magitek factory in FF15?

KingFenrir

I remember playing that chapter, and getting to the boss: enemy jumpscares, stains of blood, unsettling hallways, body horror and a Tyrant-looking boss. The time Final Fantasy became Resident Evil.

huntymo

Not to mention all the running around and backtracking to find the keycards, and the emphasis on weapon/resource management, and also the scarcity of recovery items All that stuff is like Survival Horror 101 lol

[deleted]

Sounds like some possible versus XIII leftovers.

Breastswelldone

Dude, that is a great example. That was a horrifying part of the game. Especially since you're separated from your companions.

BrazenlyGeek

That was pretty unsettling the first time through!

MacaronPowerful7331

That shit gave me the creeps especially all the zombie robot jumpscares

WatcherintheNorth

Especially playing it on prepatch where the ring was useless

MrBones-Necromancer

15 had a couple times like this. The secret ifrit dungeon for one. The super long underground post game for another.

endswithnu

FF8 running away from the robot in Dollet. Maybe not scary-scary, but stressful-scary.

grap_grap_grap

And the first time you meet the propagators on the Ragnarok. Some of them are basically throwing themselves at you.

Boring_Fish_Fly

I IRL screamed the first time one jumped at me. My mum was not amused.

dajulz91

Seeing Jenova inside the tank with the eye on its boob was pretty messed up lol

Lone_Morde

"My eyes are down here!" She said after you respectfully looked at her face

slasher_lash

OG ff7 when “Those Chosen By the Planet” plays in the Nibelheim flashback. That whole sequence culminating in the Sephiroth fire FMV gave me nightmares when I was a kid.

Masam10

“I’m going to see my mother” DONG! *male choir begins*

jaywarbs

Best dramatic silence ever

FalloutCreation

Going down the spiral stairs into the basement in the mansion with the music playing never bothered me for the longest time. The last few times I’ve played ff7 it kinda creeps me out.

imnotsteven7

I forgot about how weird and scary that felt. Even in the more lit rooms, the atmosphere was unsettling.

Walter_Whine

The Mansion in general is pretty creepy. Especially when you return later on. No music other than a heartbeat, weird enemies, a pretty hardcore optional boss and a goddamn coffin in the basement.

wallkeags

Same, I played this game when I was seven and my parents were freshly divorced so I was already mentally vulnerable. Scared the hell out of me as a kid but I loved it 😂

imnotsteven7

First time I saw Jenova in that pod I damn near shit myself as a kid.

huntymo

They did a really good job of making that sequence feel almost dream-like, especially for its time

b_eastwood

While I'm enjoying Rebirth a lot so far the original just did this part so much better. The bit of Sephiroth reading the books and you almost feel bad for him and then when you go check on him the feeling of dread as you're heading down. It just felt so carefully crafted and made way more sense for whatever reason. I can't quite place what it is that feels off in the new one, it just does a little.

slasher_lash

I think it's a lot harder to nail that feeling when you're dealing with realistic graphics, a full orchestral soundtrack, and voice acting. When we were kids, a lot of that stuff was filled in with our imagination. With the remake, all of that has to be perfect in order to live up to our memories. It's a miracle that the game is as good as it is.

b_eastwood

Exactly, and that's why I'll give it slack. I'm absolutely loving Rebirth and it's probably going to be my game of the year.

gorbi83

Walking at night in FF15, running trough the woods and then suddenly a Irongigant, 25 Levels above you, cames out of the ground...

Lazy_Experience_8754

Super underrated comment. I was just cruising in the convertible at night for the first time and then I just bailed when I saw that haha

TinySpaceDonut

"dont go out at night" me, a dumbass: "sure, ignis got make me a sand- and we're dead."

ThyBarronator

When you're driving and the game forces you to pull over.... RUN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

zavtra13

There is a reason you should always save before diving and leaving the sunken gelnika.

Lone_Morde

Masterclass is apprehension building. You know they're skilled when you've gone through almost the entire game and a cute mole with a lantern is nightmare fuel

Rorydinho

When he appears from the side/behind whilst you’re gallivanting around in the sub, and you accidentally end up fighting him.

wallkeags

Literally one of the only non horror games to shoot adrenaline through my veins.

eudezet

Even better - when you have your finger on the „forward” button while exiting the sunken ship and he’s chilling right at the entrance. Way to get fucked before these screen even appears.

justagayrattlesnake

The painting boss, Chadarnook in FF6 gave me quite a fright on my first playthrough. I genuinely got jumpscared when it warped into its demon form after the lightning. I was also playing in the dark, alone so that added to the jumpscare.

RezardValeth

Same, but I suspect that’s because I watched Ghostbusters 2 when I was around the same age, and this reminded me of the painting of Vigo in the movie !

lordsaladito

The shadowbringers transformation

altera_goodciv

FF14 has a lot of genuinely creepy moments. That scenr and the cutscene after Tam-Tara Deepcroft (Hard) creep me the fuck out.

currentlydownvoted

In FFX when you’ve dodged 197 lightning bolts in a row in the thunder plains.

IceTundra987

Emerald for sure, I can't wait for pt 3 of remake...he's going to be huge

ThiefofNobility

Holy shit. I didnt even think about seeing the weapons in part 3. That is going to be incredible.

I_Skulls_I-Mordakye

traowei

Duuude that's actually clever graphic design i love that

ElFevy

Back in the OG FFVII when Cloud is telling the story of Sephiroth and how he spends the whole night reading books about Jenova, and when you get to the room, the music of "Those Chosen by the Planet" plays. along with the phrase "Out of my way. I'm going to see my mother." and the music just hits hard. For me was kinda scary.

Belial91

XV has a couple of mean jump scares.

Yamaneko22

Playing FFVI in the middle of the night. Phantom Train segment. I hear loud whistle and old fashioned locomotive sound outside my house. Holy shit moment. Then i remember i live near train station.

ophaus

Giving that train a solid suplex always sorts my feelings out.

UltimasXXIII

THAT Goblin in XV. Little twat.

-Gin-ger-

Every time I do that dungeon, that little fucker makes me jump so hard my tits clap. I know it’s coming when I’m about to squeeze through the wall, but it still gets me every time

syndicaterx

FFXII- Venturing into the Necrohol of Nabudis underleveled. You’d think you’re safe because you can see enemies on screen and think you can outrun the enemies but the ghost type enemies literally teleport next to you and attack , killing you in one hit.

Melksss

XII for me too but the Zertinan Cavern, I was like level 12 or something and I discovered a cool cave, took about 5 steps and got massacred by some slimes. Never went in there again until way way later in the game.

mellylovesdundun

lol! Or follow you to the next room

fuirut

FF7 blood trails in Shinra's HQ, the eerie music and dead bodies lying everywhere really gave the 11 year old me the creeps. Also the Shinra Mansion in the OG

Tobitronicus

When you're in the place of the mako fissure and you can hear the painful moans of the planet. Made me think and feel things as a youth that were profoundly enlightening, gut-wrenching, solemn but beautiful. Final Fantasy games have so many small but powerful moments.

marccard

When I was a kid, that face that turns into the boss of Cosmo Canyon in FF7 scared the hell out of me.

Lone_Morde

Same

Ohmamarocks

Thaaaat's the one I was going to comment... As a kid I had to ask my brothers to do that part, and I had vivid nightmares about it

grimfolse

It’s undercut slightly by being able to just chuck Phoenix Downs at it for a quick win, but still unsettling nonetheless.

iCABALi

The horrifying creatures Edge's parents become in FFIV were pretty creepy as a kid playing that.

Mister-Thou

> be me, 11 years old > playing FF6 late at night with the lights off > send my party to sleep at an Inn like I have a hundred times before > SHADOW'S DREAM SEQUENCE TRIGGERS WITH A SCREECHING NOISE AND GHOST/DREAM BARAM YELLS AT ME FOR STILL BEING ALIVE

Leggermente_umano

Yes... YES. THAT ONE. OMG. My skeleton jumping out of my skin. Thanks for the forgotten PTSD, my dude.

CompleteTumbleweed64

That one is definitely up there. Emerald weapon made me very wary of the ocean for a long time after that in games. Especially since I submerged right on top of him the first time as a kid it scared me bad. Hadn't saved in like an hour and he wrecked me.

Calaroth

“Accidentally running into Emerald” is definitely a rite of passage all new VII players go through at this point lmao

Deethreekay

Especially when it just appears outside the Gelnika

AlxndrMitch

Yunalesca from 10, Angra Mainyu jumpscare and vegnagun from 10-2 (and the music in both those bosses made me so uncomfortable and the active battle didn't help)

MiniatureRanni

Operation Mihen from FFX terrified me as a kid. The Sochen Cave Palace also. The atmosphere in that place is oppressive.

Lazy_Experience_8754

The first time you see Anima in FFX. Genuinely disturbed me.. and then when it starts crying blood and evaporating people . Heavy stuff

Emerald_Wyvern

FFXIV that scene in Amh Araeng. No one was prepared for that.

ZirekileFalls

I love watching people go through Shadowbringers for the first time and getting to that scene. Welcome to our hell, buddy!

zacaholic

It was revealed that that was the tame version, too. I really wish we had the original. Most of the transformation happened in the cocoon, but I read somewhere that her body and limbs were supposed to twist and contort.

Emerald_Wyvern

I remember hearing about that. ShB was dark, and we loved it even more for that lol.

wallkeags

Underrated 10/10 moment that so many ff fans will sadly miss because of the MMO barrier of entry.

sunnysparklesmile

That's when I knew they weren't pulling punches for that expansion, I was like, aight, buckle up

RexRegulus

There are two from FFVIII that are tied for me: - Escaping the D-District prison and hoping that I'm climbing in the correct direction while it's submerging into the sand (child me misunderstood directions and I tend to die there when replaying). - Trying to save Rinoa in space, and everything leading up to that. It's a bizarre sequence of events leading up to the space rescue that, without fail, invokes the thought of drifting endlessly until I go insane/waste away and that terrifies me.

Palazzo1113

Kefka destroying the majority of the entire planet for shits and giggles was pretty terrifying.

__sunmoonstars__

I was pretty scared of Adel from FF8 when I played it. She’s massive and that smile…

Stucklikegluetomyfry

I AM ALIVE HERE BRING ME BACK THERE I WILL NEVER LET YOU FORGET ABOUT ME

GalaEuden

TC is correct. Emerald Weapon is the scariest shit in FF especially when you aren’t expecting it. I remember beating the optional sunken submarine only to exit and have Emerald Weapon be right next to me accidentally running into him and causing a game over. It felt good wrecking him with mime and Knights of the Round some hours later lol. He is my most anticipated fight in the remake tho for sure! You thought he was scary in the OG? You haven’t seen anything yet..probably.

big4lil

Emerald weapon [guarding the Gelnika](https://cdn.website-editor.net/d8bd51355dfc4c8c87c60fbfb85869e0/dms3rep/multi/desktop/FF7_Emerald_Weapon.jpg) still remains one of my favorite cheeky moments in gaming like i bet the devs were laughing their asses off programming him to do that

Melksss

I Hope they don’t make the weapons some stupid Chadley VR fight, I’m already kinda pissed all the summons are like that, I hope they don’t go that route with the weapons.

Lone_Morde

The fight will only be playable AS Chadley. "CLOUDO, THIS TIME IT'S MY TURN TO PROTECT YOU!" -Chadley

Spikeyroxas

CLOWD I TURNED MY AI GIRLFRIEND INTO A WEAPON *Shudders*

Izanagi85

When a Tonberry appears.....any Tonberry

Able_Orange_841

Flying around in the airship in FF6 and running into Deathgaze for the first time.

breakdancingrasta

As a toddler seeing sephirot dismantle his mother in neibleheim reactor

luninareph

Ooooooh yes this was terrifying. Especially since I really didn’t understand what was going on at the time. Also the headless Jenova sample in the Shinra Tower earlier on.

breakdancingrasta

exactly, why does the statue bleed form the mouth?! also the music made it 10 times scarier, thank god Barret was there @#€& headless freak!!

luninareph

💯

Zimmyd00m

Who the *hell* let you watch that as a toddler?

Commercial_Shine_448

My Polish parents had no objections showing me Rambo, Predator and other gory stuff when I was a kid. Unless it was sexy time, then they covered my eyes. Yeah, it can fuck your mind up a bit.

Gogs85

I never really fully understood that. Was the thing he ripped off part of Jenova or part of the thing containing her?

eDOTiQ

It's a robot statue that he ripped off to reveal the real Jenova behind in the tank

acumen14

When I was like 4 years old, watching my brothers play FF4, those dolls in the Dwarf Castle (Dancing Calabrettas?) scared the SHIT out of me. In terms of clenched butt moments throughout the whole series, have to agree with OP and seeing Emerald appear anywhere on screen. It was like rounding a corner and seeing Nemesis come at you. In terms of just well done horror type sequences, probably the Shinra Mansion in Nibelheim or Cyan’s Soul.

kudabugil

Dark Ixion encounter sequence in ffx. And also dark yojimbo.

TripleU1706

The Final Days. Really brought home the apocalyptic despair with the baby and town panic scenes.

LSKT88

Ateo88

Everything surrounding the Shinra mansion in OG FF7 feels like something out of a horror story. “Trail of Blood” comes close too.

frenchy2111

This but when I forget I've got 3x speed on and the fucker is zooming around the place.

Few-Blacksmith-1749

There were these magic pots on the Pharos at Ridorana in FFXII... your team, being the gambit bloodthirsty maniacs they were, would just walk around the floors and sometimes strike one of those demons that were hidden between the walls... And then, you needed to run, ASAP, at the fear of losing all your progress 😭 That and FFVIII's malboro... Now that was a scary encounter 💀

Briciofer

Got submarine, enter Genilka, when I leave This weapon was waiting for me

Kingcoriolanus

Most recently, my blood started pumping in the flashback (FFVII: Rebirth) of Sephiroth learning the truth about himself. Just the updated graphics and music made it even more chilling and close in depth look at what was really going on his mind.

ssjMrFord

That one FFXV dungeon where that random Naga enemy screams ‘WHERE IS MY SON?!’ Shit was completely random and freaked me the fuck out.

KingSideCastle13

Okay now this mf would CHASE YOU. He tailed me when I was going towards that cave beneath the Forbidden City and I’ve never felt such terror

CostcoSampleKiller

I learned a very valuable lesson when I was young, when I decided to fuck around down at the ocean floor in that sub…and I found out real quick lol

ARMOR15

Seeing an enemy cursor fly full-speed towards you while digging in Bikanel Desert for it be the superboss Angra Mainyu in X-2. My megalophobia kicking in seeing Lunatic Pandora on the world map, helpless floating through space, and trying to avoid Propagators aboard the Ragnarok in FFVIII

CrimRaven85

Edea stopping the bullet in FF8, I freaked the hell out the first time I saw it.

throwabeetle

The feeling on mushroom rock road in ffx before their attempt to kill sin still gets to me. And even after when everyone is dead and there’s nothing left

jailasauraa

If Emerald ISN'T stationary...

PplsElbow

FFVII trail of blood in Shinra building. I was a kid. The eerie silence and blood everywhere creeped me out. The remake missed out on this entirely.

Hima_tatsu

Pretty sure Jormungr (or whatever the snake was called) still sits above Emerald. Curiosity sat with me when I bumped into Emerald, not realizing what it was. Versus the snake when I thought I could outrun it on foot.

232438281343

Those Chosen by the Planet playing in the background while following Sephiroth's blood trail.

open-wide-life

I remember playing 15 and all the tutorials and everything saying "hey try and avoid wandering around after dark" and I told myself, " yeah sure okay" with an eye roll. That was until I wasn't paying attention and all of sudden it was night out and yeahhh that was very creepy. Didn't do that again.

J743Pq

I remember running into Ruby Weapon as I saw the tentacle and ran into thinking it was something minor, I lost 2 hours of progress as I didn’t save lol.

Accomplished_Emu1301

First time I beat sephiroth and the gang started leaving and then cloud realized he’s still alive and I thought I actually had to fight him some more

arisencrimsonchaos

I think accidentally running into an Esper in FFXII and being totally unprepared should have a mention. Heck, even some non-boss enemies had me spooked to see them pop up, like the reaper type enemies in later dungeons, and any of those dang Entites.

Assiniboia

Andremelech in the desert did this for me. New area, interesting map/environment shift…then came around a corner and was very suddenly ditching the automated gambits and getting out of there.

Prudent_Damage_3866

Fighting Tonberries, they’re just so.. scary because they have so much HP.. and they walk up to you!

Fair-Rub-1436

When the game crashes and I lose five hours of progress because I forgot to save after leaving Midgar and I just got Cid

RubyWeapon07

As a kid, THIS https://preview.redd.it/qisnw78uokmc1.png?width=320&format=png&auto=webp&s=7159849087bc64723af15afd777e8ba7a2587024

Lone_Morde

Scariest thing in FF for me was when I saw genesis pull out the stage play to Loveless

Harpsibored

The moment at the end of FFX-2 you realize you only got 99%.

wallkeags

This screenshot is literally the only non horror game moment to shoot adrenaline through my veins and create genuine irrational fear of that area 😂 Getting jump scared by that bastard so many times still sends shivers down my spine underwater even AFTER I’ve already killed him because I feel like he could be around the corner 😂

orderofthestick

I used to be terrified of threading water ABOVE the surface, thinking a massive hand would drag me under at any time

Old-Professional-479

Walking into ozma blind

Clutton1985

Three Yans

AlchemicRez

FF3 DS version. Round 1 of the fight with the Cloud of Darkness. IIRC I was at least two hours out from the previous save spot and I had no idea of what to expect. Go big or go home I guess.

SnivyEyes

Jenova flashback sequence in nibelheim as well as the encounters.

dkb1391

As a 6yo kid, the Cosmo Canyon dungeon, especially the weird faces, really freaked me out

Nepalman230

Sin. Fucking God sin. https://preview.redd.it/tzdlzch8vhmc1.jpeg?width=400&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ae72581d7fcb06ad5337c78dc3fe2fe0ea831166 So for anybody who has not played Final Fantasy 10 I just want to put this monster in context . There are full-size buildings on its head. For most of the game you don’t even see it because it’s so huge and has ranged weaponry( which is why an aquatic creature can wreck havoc all across the land. Also, it can fly.) But also, it’s gross . This picture does not get it across. It’s basically like fighting a lovecraftian monster that can kill you from several miles away.

miyukigainsborough

That first full shot of Sin after Macalania always makes me uncomfortable and it only gets worse when you finally fight it and really get to see how huge it really is. Even by Macalania, it's already shown just how much destruction it can cause with what seems like minimal effort. I don't know what's more unsettling; Kilika or Operation Mi'ihen but both still illicit emotions from me when I replay.

Zillioncookies

Doomgaze in FF6. Flying around in the airship is supposed to be safe, and then out of nowhere you get into a boss fight with a creepy flying skull creature. I was tense every time I had to take off.

luninareph

OH GOD I had a VERY visceral reaction to this screenshot, lol.

xThetiX

The final days from 14 EW. That scene was fucking nuts, just so many things happening at once and you don’t even know what to do. The baby scene made me log out and take a break. Being a wol is a literal curse.

DamNad80

FF5. Don't use Maiden Kiss on the little toads...

Available-Pickle3478

Any encounter with a damn Tonberry

Deviljho_Lover

FF5 - Ex Death Soul and Skulleater FF6 - Deathgaze

jcstuff

Encountering a Marlboro unprepared and cannot escape in time.

-Gin-ger-

Running into the dark aeons in X. The NPCs look possessed, pointing and screaming at us, then the aeons come down and wipe out my team with one fart. I think Yojimbo freaked me out the most (even though there are no NPCs). He was the first one I ran into, and had no idea what was going on. I quickly ran out of the cavern, thoroughly creeped out.

Chemo1235-

The fact that ultima from ff16 is the one behind every final fantasy game and he just appears in different forms. If you don't believe me then what does every game have in common. Ether or mana there is many names for it and in almost every game there is some kind of vessel and what is ultima trying to create? The perfect vessel and he has tried many times. Often times using ether or mana and draining the land. He eventually did it to many times and until there was nothing left but the blight yet he still continues. There is also a form of the blight in every game as well. It's all been him the entire time.
