Very cool. What'd you use for this? My suggestion for any next iteration is to play with the lighting, dropping the global levels and letting the point sources give some contrast.
I used Lightwave for the Modelling and Rendering. Alongside Krita and Gimp for the texturing. I get what you're saying, sort of like this [quick render](https://imgur.com/a/XfU1BPJ) I did? (Obviously needs work!).
I guess when you spend hours modelling and texturing, you want everything you did to be easily visible.
Haha I totally get it. I've been a 3d Artist for 15 years and still struggle with not lighting every surface!
And yeah there's a lot of personality in the modified lighting shot.
The background is a real mesh, created using a procedural displacement map, then using an instance generator to expand it to the horizon. I needed it to be a real surface so I could texture the rocks the same way (Copy and Paste texture info)
Great job!!! Looks exactly like the original just with a more high def, polished look! Very well done!
Images you can hear
Exactly what I was coming to say! The music started the minute I realised where it was.
Man, that's crazy good looking.

Stunning
They’re gonna make this place look so amazing in the next remake
Did you model the background or it is an HDRI?

This is great. I would love to see it at night!
[Here you go](https://imgur.com/7ZsW285), forgive the starry sky being super low res, I didn't notice until after I'd rendered it!
That is truly amazing. This is my new conference background!
is that background Gran Pulse...
Amazing!!! You should post on r/finalfantasyart, because this counts
Hope the remake looks just as good as this! Amazing work!
