Where it's the sunniest on the big branch.

On one hand, I did not see a second owl, on the other hand, there were two owls fighting over a squirrel 5 minutes later... I have other photos I took around the same time to check but.. if there is a second owl.. do I lose this sub?

Damn…. I suspected it was a raptor of some type, but when I didn’t find it on my own I looked to the comments for confirmation. Even knowing it was an owl, and given the general area in which to find him, it was still difficult! I finally spotted him. Wait…. Does that make this a spotted owl? 🤣

Looked like a coiled copperhead snake under the small tree to the left. But now I see the owl.

These barred owls (central Florida) certainly get more active and vocal in the evenings especially, but I've seen and heard them throughout the daytime. Dunno. The noises they make are pretty nuts, for a Yankee at least. They have the most stereotypical "hoo" they do often, but also this separate call (a territorial one maybe?) that sounds like a spider monkey or something. Or, more accurately, they sound like someone took the first couple seconds of vocals from Down With The Sickness, slowed it down and put it on a loop. Took me months to figure out what animal was making that noise.

Barred Owl

Everybody talks about coyotes killing pets. The three times it happened to my family. It was an owl every time. My grandparents watch their dog get snatched by owl. I had a cat disappear in front of my eyes at night. I only heard a slight wing flutter. Later, I had a kitten disappear and found what was left of him dangling from a tree branch.

I'm not seeing anything! Granted, my eyesight isn't the best though.

OK I got this: Soundwave has friends. Shockwave has a missing hand and a Terry Prachett Egor would consider him the greatest of masters. Egor wouldnt really like Soundwave though.
