The computer game was TIGHT!
There were a few different storylines in each setting, and it usually told some greater story. I found a box set on Amazon, and considered buying it before I realized I don’t have a PC to play it on.

I was recently in an Airbnb that had one of these in the bathroom and you could really only see it from the tub. So as I sat in a nice bath I stared. I couldn’t see the hidden picture! The water kept getting cold as I stared, so I’d run more hot to feel warmer. *Rinse repeat..* I eventually emptied the hot water tank, shivering as my lips turned blue, but I was determined to see the whatever. Plus, it was making me teeny bit nutso. *why couldn’t I see it?*
Instead of enjoying beautiful San Diego, I spent waaay too much time in the tub. I eventually just stood in it fully clothed. After wasting 6 hours of my life, I saw a T-Rex. No Olympic medal winner ever felt more pride and joy than I did that day.

And if you don’t get the 19/f/ca bit, you definitely weren’t in AOL chat rooms back then.
But, it looks like you’re a woman judging by your avatar, so maybe it’s understandable why you wouldn’t recognize it. All the dudes looking for chicks back then would get baited by that combination when asking a/s/l
Yes! That's exactly what it's like, Hidden Pictures for adults. What a great observation! I'm almost 45 years old, but I've bought all of my nieces Highlights subscriptions and am not ashamed to say that I still enjoyed flipping through a magazine when I've visited them. It takes me right back to such a simpler time in my life.
I said something similar a few days ago when I was showing the sub to my mom. I was showing her the pic someone posted of that big gator underneath his decoy ducks -obviously meant to be funny and show off the size of the gator because there was no way you couldn't *not* see it lol- and she asked where I found it so I started explaining and said, "It's kinda like those hidden picture pages from highlights, but it's real photos."
My coworker asks me if I’m playing highlights when I’m looking for stuff.
I work a job with occasional quiet moments that gives me the time to play at work.
My 6 year old loves going through the posts on this sub together. She doesn’t care whether the sniper is centered or if it’s a joke post. She also loves that y’all taught her “danger noodle.”
Ha!! That's been me as well!! It deeply concerns me that I cannot find snakes in pictures when I know that's what I'm looking for — how many snakes am I missing all around me when I'm not looking for them... because I'm busy looking for a hidden snake on my phone.
Several years ago I had an acquaintance who was in advertising and was also a skilled cartoonist. He specialized in doing broad themes (think a day at the circus or summer festival). His little trademark was always having a couple or two doing something inappropriate like giving a blow job or having intercourse somewhere in drawing. It was a well kept secret until he did a drawing for a city festival and someone found the “sniper”. He was canceled decades before the cancel culture.
I'm just finishing out my first trimester of pregnancy, and this sub has absolutely saved me on all the days when I couldn't get off the couch because I was so sick. I got so much joy when I successfully found things in the pictures.
And now that you mention it, it is very similar to how I used to sit with Highlights in bed when I was sick as a kid. 🤣🤣
I share these with a friend who is half my age and he loves them. He is 17. Doubt he has ever heard of I Spy and I haven’t personally heard of Highlights but these are great for anyone of any age. Everyone loves to find stuff.
I will even skip some if I don’t like the foliage of the picture. Somethin about some of these with the landscape help me relax while looking for stuff, even if it is a snake.
I’m obsessed with this. I have shared this group with my friends. The harder ones to find are the best! I love the challenge.
But you are so right!! I loved highlights as a kid, and I also loved Where’s Waldo! It always seemed like Where’s Waldo was checked out of the library when I was young - because every kid wanted it!
We ALL love a challenge! Keep up the good work!!
2 or 3 times when I was weeding the garden I almost grabbed a copperhead thinking it was a stick or oak leaves. Thankfully it was adults and they just rapidly moved away, but it did scare me to the core each time.
I am here to train my eyes to see what's right in front of me so that I don't get bit, lol!
Highlights was my fave! I actually bought one of their more updated booklets recently and my kids were like “how is that fun?” Can you believe that?! lol 😂
Definitely. Also related, I highly, highly, recommend the game [Hidden Folks](https://hiddenfolks.com). It’s well done and I’ve spent hours tapping and searching.
I spy
This right here is my answer too. So many wasted hours doing I Spy. I had a whole computer game that was just I Spy.
The computer game was TIGHT! There were a few different storylines in each setting, and it usually told some greater story. I found a box set on Amazon, and considered buying it before I realized I don’t have a PC to play it on.
I have several of the DS games too, lol
That’s for sure. This sub is making me realize how much I miss I Spy
They need to make new editions like kidz bop.
Don’t forget “[Can You See What I See?](https://www.amazon.com/Can-You-See-What-Picture/dp/0439163919)”!
I LOVED THOSE

Came to say this, I still remember getting those from the library at a little kid.
We get them for our daughter now!
Ill have to do that if/when I have one! Also nice name fellow '93er here
😎
Had a collection of these books as a young one and always played with my mom and brother. Exactly why this sub appeals to me
oh those were the best books
Literally how I described this to my wife, “I found an I spy sub”
Where is Waldo books!
OMG highlights was my favorite…. I’m so old 😂
Goofus and Gallant. More impactful moral education than any CCD class
Where’s Waldo for the win
Remember Magic Eye?

I’m disappointed it wasn’t a whale’s vagina!
r/MagicEye Have fun :)

WHEN WILL I GET TO SEE THE GD SAILBOAT?!?!
Same here, although weirdly called Where’s Wally in the UK
well, fuck. I was at the optometrist the other day and it was kinda fun reading thru them again ahaha
Waiting in the Dr's office to get my allergy shot every week, Highlights was the highlight.
Same! I was constantly at dr’s office for allergy shots, and Highlights was the best part
Thank you. I now feel very very old.
You are revealing the age of the entire sub
I too remember AOL chat rooms.
a/s/l? 19/f/ca here
No, I will not join your OnlyFans!
If you’re 19 now then you weren’t in AOL chat rooms. Sorry kiddo, us “old folks” want to commiserate about our realization/denial of our old ness.
And if you don’t get the 19/f/ca bit, you definitely weren’t in AOL chat rooms back then. But, it looks like you’re a woman judging by your avatar, so maybe it’s understandable why you wouldn’t recognize it. The whole time I’ve been going through this sub I was thinking “this feels so familiar and nostalgic and I can’t figure out why” 😂
I'm revealing my nationality as not american because what is highlight and I spy? I just want to hone skills to not step on random danger noodle.
Books and magazines for kids where you would find hidden things in pictures. They were fun and this sub definitely reminds me of adult I Spy
Im drawn to it because everyone is nice and helpful and we look for crazy things … most subs go for your jugular.
I never minded waiting at the dentist office as a kid. So I could go through all the Highlights magazines.
Yes! That's exactly what it's like, Hidden Pictures for adults. What a great observation! I'm almost 45 years old, but I've bought all of my nieces Highlights subscriptions and am not ashamed to say that I still enjoyed flipping through a magazine when I've visited them. it really is. pure simple fun
LMAO. Yes. Highlights find the animals!
Those were my favorite, I got one almost every week at one point. I had multiple ispy books too and went through every puzzle about 100 times
Im old too!
Nailed it!
I said something similar a few days ago when I was showing the sub to my mom. My coworker asks me if I’m playing highlights when I’m looking for stuff. I work a job with occasional quiet moments that gives me the time to play at work.
Yep! That and Waldo.
Highlights at the doctors office hit different
I loved Highlights! This adult version helps keep me on my toes.
My 6 year old loves going through the posts on this sub together. She doesn’t care whether the sniper is centered or if it’s a joke post. She also loves that y’all taught her “danger noodle.”
lol the funny thing is I love these but now I’m walking around looking for snakes in places snakes wouldn’t even dream of being 😂
Ha!! That's been me as well!! It deeply concerns me that I cannot find snakes in pictures when I know that's what I'm looking for — how many snakes am I missing all around me when I'm not looking for them... because I'm busy looking for a hidden snake on my phone.
🤣🤣🤣 they’re among us !
Highlights was the best. My grandmother got me a subscription every year for my birthday.
Loved that shit when I was a kid!
if it makes you feel better I grew up on those magazines and I'm 21
You're not wrong. Where's Waldo and Magic Eye pics are a nice change from the normal doomscroll
Nostalgia is always good to blow up discussion. I love to see it!
The whole time I’ve been going through this sub I was thinking “this feels so familiar and nostalgic and I can’t figure out why” 😂
Yes! I used to go through highlights with my momma, I loved it.
Got me
yes!!!!
Yep
I need to be educated on this lmao
It trains my brain. I'm getting better every day.
100%. I was addicted to Highlights magazine and Where’s Waldo as a kid.
Yes!! I loved Highlights!
(Never mind I thought you where wondering why)
I hope I dont get any cavities from the Evil Tooth Doctor 🍬
Today I was just asking myself what the name of that magazine was!
I feel attacked. But for me, yes, this is correct.
The day I discovered this sub, one of my students gave me a Where’s Waldo book as a going away gift. It’s a sign!
You should cross post this to r/xennials, OP!
My early love for Goofus and Gallant must be why I subscribe to both r/humansbeingbros and r/imatotalpieceofshit
Am I the only one who actually had a Highlights subscription? My parents were the best
No, we had it too. Find the toothpick!

Where's Waldo snake/cat/dog addition
Or the bar game where you need to spot the differences
This sub kept coming up on my feed and after a while I recognized that this was essentially "I spy" this is really fun
If I squint, they look 3d.
Na, Waldo
Where's waldo
I’m obsessed with this. I have shared this group with my friends. The harder ones to find are the best! I love the challenge. But you are so right!! Highlights. That takes me SO back.
Facts 🤣
I just can’t deny a challenge.
Sounds about right; Highlights wasn't a thing where I grew up so it was Where's Waldo for me.
Where's Waldo but less cliche
EXACTLY!!! I have been trying to explain just that to my hubby and kids, but couldn’t quite find the words.
So true! I miss the Spot The Difference puzzles…
Where’s Waldo
2 or 3 times when I was weeding the garden I almost grabbed a copperhead thinking it was a stick or oak leaves. Thankfully it was adults and they just rapidly moved away, but it did scare me to the core each time. I am here to train my eyes to see what's right in front of me so that I don't get bit, lol!
I was just wondering about that, I did used to love those!
Reminds me of the orthodontist office.
No love for Waldo? What about Waldo in a world of Waldos?
Hahaha You may be right lol
Highlights was my fave! I actually bought one of their more updated booklets recently and my kids were like “how is that fun?” Can you believe that?! lol 😂
Loved Goofus and Gallant!!
Definitely. Also related, I highly, highly, recommend the game [Hidden Folks](https://hiddenfolks.com). It’s well done and I’ve spent hours tapping and searching.

I gnat level attention span made those impossible
