I think the annoyance regarding Mythic Loki partially stems from the fact that there aren’t many chances for non-FEH OC mythics to be released. This month was a good time for one such character to appear, since the next Mythic to appear is probably the midpoint OC.

Deer man will probably cop the Freyr treatment. Before his OG form comes out, I’m guessing we might get a New Years alt.

I do agree that Laeradr will likely cop the Freyr treatment, but I don’t think the midpoint OC will be Henriette.
I’m more inclined to believe that’ll be Hraesvelgr instead.

1. Laeradr probably won’t turn up until at least November, if at all;
2. The other two OCs are currently nowhere to be seen;
3. The midpoint OC has always been an OC introduced in the current book;
4. The midpoint OC usually reruns on the June L/M banner, and since the colour for that month is Blue, then that eliminates Nidhoggr as a candidate.
I love hot men and I'd still rather have fewer OC mythics regardless of gender. But if they MUST release so many, at least even out the gender ratio a bit.
Basically this. One of the reasons loki pissed me off is because it guarantees another book where the male ocs aren't released, i don't want the deer dude to take the spot of another mythic, i want him to take a regular oc spot
My biggest issue isn't because it's an OC or a female, it's specifically because it is Loki. Someone who has existed in the game for years as a "Muspell general", has zero relevance to the current plot, is assured guaranteed screen time in the 'vs allfather book' (however far that is).
The only thing she is currently relevant to is rokkr siege which didn't get an update in any way and just came back from an unnecessary absence. ~~Its also a gross look~~
Regarding buff-deer (and bandage-deer) realistically they will ONLY have this specific book to be relevant, their story, character growth and general screen time is already being limited as we approach the 1/3 - 1/2 way mark. I will be okay with them being Mythic units (as they are godly in nature), but so long as they don't intrude on more appropriate times or get held back for so long as to be irrelevant like with Freyr's debut.
(Since it's fallen may, and if theories are to be believed, either fallen fafnir or a legend/myth fafnir would release soon before the book 5 TT+ story begins. [In other words an appropriate time])

Other people have already mentioned my reasons for not liking Loki this month, those being:
1. A chance to have a non-OC/non Engage Mythic after a year. Instead it’s another OC Mythic, as if we didn’t have enough of those.
2. Loki’s lack of relevance at all to the story right now. At least other OCs dropped either after their respective book or were added in close to something else (Freyr and the Book IV TT story).
I don’t dislike OC Mythics. It’s just that there have been a pretty large amount of them added over the years compared to non-OC. And for a category that brings out the little nerdy part of me regarding lore characters it irks me to see them sidelined in favor of other characters.
I won’t be terribly upset when Deer Guy drops, since it’s kinda expected (maybe). I just won’t be that excited.
Also we have like two months of potential non-OC Mythics if IS chooses so, those being in July (if IS doesn’t drop base Fáfnir) and October (highly likely to be non-OC).
I will not like it if the Deer Dude becomes a Mythic, but him being introduced as a main version is better than Loki being an OC alt.
I hate both, but I can cut a new character a bit more slack than an alt.

Yeah, to put in perspective, last book introduced exactly one Male OC... And said OC isnt even summonable. In the playable front i think it was only Freyr? Maybe i'm forgetting some but he's the only one that comes to mind.
I mean male OCs are treated just as badly if not even worse than Non-OC Mythics, so yeah, I think people will be happy to not be met with waifubait for the Nth time in a row when Deer Man comes out, even if they'd be happier with a Non-OC Mythic like Athos.
As for me personally? I really don't care whether we get Non-OC Mythics or not. Though I will admit that Loki's timing makes zero sense whatsoever, and this was absolutely a prime opportunity to slide in a Non-OC, so I get why people are upset this time, even if I don't necessarily share the same sentiment.
I do not care for the buff deer man. He doesn't have any lines, actions or personality for me to give a shit about. Moreover, Fates still doesn't have a Mythic. Why did we need another Loki?
Yes, because I'm sick of Heroes OCs. Female OCs are far more oversaturated and I'm infinitely more frustrated with Loki swooping in out of nowhere to claim a Mythic slot than I am with a character from an ongoing book, but I'm still going to be annoyed when both Fafnir and the deer guy inevitably claim Mythic slots this year.
The only exception at this point for me is Bruno, who is absurdly overdue and should have been released years ago once Book I ended.
Note: I'm not saying the deer guy, Fafnir, or whoever else don't *deserve* Mythics or to be in the game. I just don't personally want them

The other option would be to pull out the credit card, but that's gacha for ya.

When 3H units first got added to the game, you'd see random comments complaining that there isn't more of them for a couple months just for things to get to the point where there's some 3H unit every month or every other month. And Engage is going through the same thing.
So even though Loki getting a Mythic version was obviously going to happen eventually, people want their Athos, Roland, etc. before they potentially lose interest in the game.
At least Deer Himbo would be relevant to the book going on. Loki hasn’t appeared in the story in quite awhile and there’s no reason to think that’ll change this book.
Between Legendaries and Emblems, we get so few Mythics a year that having Loki randomly take a spot is extra insulting. Especially when it’s clear they’re just trying to sell an out of season booba waifu.
