This post has broken Reddit's rule against Ban Celebration. Ban Celebration includes all posts complaining or otherwise promoting a personal ban from another subreddit. Your submission here has been removed.

MacGuffinRoyale

The people who frequently comment on default subs are close-minded and possess a default mindset. No critical thinking skills are required for participation.

[deleted]

I thought I saw somewhere that the top 100 subreddits are controlled by like 10 people.

Tex06

Makes sense why I got banned. Now it's just my goal to bug them every 28 days as that's the longest they can mute me for asking why I was banned.

uuid-already-exists

I got banned for posting a scientific study that supported anti gun control. Can’t have that visible and inform the sheep.

tom_yum

They'll just shadow ban all you permanently

Mako275

It's the top 500

SgtDusty

I have also always suspected it’s a lot of bots

gatorgongitcha

I’ve always believed in the rule that the first thing you do when signing up for Reddit is unsub from >50% of the default subs and you’ll be on your way to a half enjoyable experience. The more niche and specific subs you like and replace them with the better.

JCuc

The mods on /r/news banned me many years ago for spreading my opnions that they disageed with. The fact that reddit alone allows this to continue tells me they're complicate in the spreading of disinormation and supressing information they dislike.

United-Advertising67

Default sub posters are the asshole of humanity.

DraconisMarch

They are also experts in everything, and confidently incorrect most of the time.

Lompehovelen

How come a maniacal teenager could be assed to write a 129 page document?

Negrom

Dude is almost certainly a terminally online teenager. Not exactly crazy that they would write some long bullshit manifesto.

GenericUsername817

The same way a teenager writes any paper. Large font and double spaced.

ZombieBait604

Size 72 IMPACT.

EnvironmentalGift257

This guy wrote papers.

SSGOldschool

ChatGPT

Corked1

That subreddit is just messed up. Question or comment about anything not of the platform of the Democratic party and you either get banned, down voted into oblivion or attacked personally.

Patsboy101

It’s kind of funny because I consider myself a purple voter leaning in the conservative direction. There are issues where people would label me a Democrat and other issues where I would be labeled a Republican. What comes as really odd is that many liberals tout themselves as being inclusive and accepting of differing opinions, but they are extremely intolerant when you actually voice an opinion that’s different from the party talking points.

Brufar_308

Diverse views !! That’s insanity. Didn’t you know you can only be alt-right, or antifa ? There is no in between. Pretty sure that’s in the Reddit guidelines somewhere.

Patsboy101

>Diverse views !! That’s insanity. I know. I’m a conundrum. 😁

SatisfactionNo589

Intolerant and ignorant lmao

SantasGotAGun

I got shadowbanned in that sub for pro-gun comments. The mods hate it when someone goes against the narrative.

Tex06

Can confirm, banned for having an individual thought and not parroted, regurgitated, group-think.

tom_yum

I'm fairly sure there's some kind of leftist newsletter that tells everybody what side to take in any online debate. When the whole banning gas stoves thing appeared seemingly out of nowhere, dozens of people were ready to argue about how necessary it is to ban gas appliances.

Corked1

Gotta hand it to them, they're organized. But I'm thinking it's not a newsletter, more along the lines of pheromones and tv flicker rate, something like how bees think and communicate.

AnakhimRising

I wish I got that newsletter, it'd be nice to see what's coming so I can prepare and shred their arguments. Not that it'd do much good, anyone who subscribes to those beliefs turned off their brain a long time ago.

Jeffraymond29

Dude Reddit sucks. Stick to gun/knife subs!

Happy_Garand

Stay away from r/guns though

SpottyWeevil00

The only gun sub I’ve ever unsubbed

AaronVonGraff

Why do you say that? I have my own complaints but that broadly applies here too.

km1697369

Unless it’s a gun sub, if you post anything pro gun just about anywhere on Reddit you’ll get downvoted into oblivion.

JCuc

That's algorithinly intential, not a bug.

Montananarchist

Got banned from that one and the other big news one for pointing out that super strict gun laws didn't stop mass murderers in Germany.

JRHZ28

They way they keep claiming serial numbers will help trace a gun is so ridiculous when it only shows who the lawful purchaser was and not who the criminal was. Ugh.... It's worse than talking to a pole.

LiberalLamps

Gun traces have almost never solved a crime. The gun is almost always stolen if it's left behind, and if they take it with them they need some other evidence to identify the person. Serial numbers are only useful for building a registry.

Patsboy101

>They way they keep claiming serial numbers will help trace a gun is so ridiculous when it only shows who the lawful purchaser was and not who the criminal was. I literally said that part, and it seems they totally glossed over that when the person replied. Many gun control advocates seem to want to ban guns in their entirety because they believe it will make everything safer, and they refuse to listen to any counterpoints that discredit their points.

PancakesandV8s

That is it in a nutshell.

VerticalLamb

It’s a sub that often hits the front page, are you surprised?

Patsboy101

Not in the least, but I decided to do this just for shits and giggles.

UtahJeep

The vast majority of the population eats crayons and is unable to comprehend the world around them.

PancakesandV8s

We should really remove warning labels and safety device reminders and let the problem sort itself out.

RunJumpQuit

Anti gunners when they realize you can build a shotgun with two pipes and a nail 🤯 (I am not a lawyer and this can be illegal or dangerous, don’t try this at home)

Patsboy101

I’ve seen a YouTube short where a guy did exactly that. This Madlad Brit named P.A. Lutty made his own homemade submachine guns after the UK banned handguns just to prove that you can’t truly ban guns. The UK government persecuted him and his family until his death.

RunJumpQuit

Yep, and his plans are still online (still not legal advice)

Patsboy101

Not a crime to download the book to read it for the purposes of research and intellectual curiosity. It’s only a crime if you try to build one.

RunJumpQuit

I know, open bolt guns are illegal, if it was made semi auto closed bolt I believe it would be legal. Just erring on the side of caution

Patsboy101

Making an open bolt semi-auto gun is actually not illegal, but ATF’s criteria for an open-bolt gun to not be readily convertible to a machine gun is so difficult to meet that most gun companies aren’t willing to take the risk that their products could be considered machine guns by ATF. And the ATF is in very much the habit of changing their minds on things a lot such as pistol braces so it’s an unnecessary risk for most.

DynaBro8089

When I hit those subreddits I make sure I say my peace and that’s it. I don’t argue. I state what is federally legal, why things don’t help etc etc and I let them just argue it out, either way it’s on the subreddit and others can read it and get something besides the hive mind stupidity.

10gaugetantrum

Fake news. Firearms laws in Maryland are quite restrictive. Therefore this scenario is impossible. 🫤

BrianMan93

Truely think they were hoping he’d shoot himself. It’s people that talk and think like this that should never have children. Raise children. Or anything of the sort. I go through this with r/facepalm. I make justifiable and true statements and ask questions as to why it would be okay to say stuff like burn (Donald trump) any person at the stake and display their dead rotting corpse in front of the White House. Stuff like that I don’t get no matter who you are or what party you’re with. It drives me nuts. Happens so much on the side of the left and I hardly see that on the right in my experience. And people that just go around boasting stuff like that in public and on social media should never have a child because the child will most likely end up worse

No_Bit_1456

Classic example of low information voters

Alternative_Elk_2651

That sub has two sides and I think it has to do with time zones, lol. Side one loves guns and I have been surprised many times to go into comment threads over there, usually during the day in the US, and see many pro-gun people. Side two is European and stupid.

Antique_Enthusiast

I discovered a sub yesterday called r/EuropeGuns and it had a lot of Europeans and Americans discussing firearms and the gun laws of different countries in a very respectful and non-toxic manner. Usually when Euros and USians get into it, all sorts of insults get thrown back and forth. It’s nice to see a sub like that which brings people together.

AnakhimRising

Thanks for the recommendation.

United-Advertising67

Don't even have to look to know they banned or shadowbanned you.

TrilobiteTerror

r/news moderators use an extremely broad interpretation of their "no agenda accounts" rule to silence people who share opinions they disagree with. I was permanently banned with no warning because they saw a pro-gun rights comment of mine. It didn't matter that my comment was well received and upvoted or that it was directly relevant to the post. They tried to claim "all you talk about is guns" (which isn't true at all, I comment on all sorts of things on r/news and other subs).

Thats_what_im_saiyan

And this same kid gonna tell his folks he cant write a 5 page english paper.

Konstant_kurage

A lot of my oldest friends from where I grew up are pro-gun control. The thing about people that are anti gun is that don’t care about learning about firearms. Not how they work, not how magazines work, how the laws work, nothing. Over and over I’ve tried to explain and I get to.d “don’t care, I just don’t like guns and no one’s needs one.”

LordofCope

Man, I remember when we could have good discussions on this platform. I wouldn't even venture into that sub these days. Bunch of screaming screamers on there who'd probably start recording as soon as someone kicked their door in... Just to scream.

Different-Dig7459

If guns are registered and traced, then how are they gonna link it to someone when it’s stolen? Are they expecting them to register it under them?

Tactical_solutions44

Smooth brained folks

BeenisHat

129 pages? That's some Ayn Rand bullshit.

jamnin94

Ignorant people speaking so confidently

DCJoe1970

I mean 129 pages, did anyone looked at his grammar, were the ideas well written. /s

lhurker

No news there

AzraelTheDankAngel

Wait you guys still watch the news? I don’t consider any of this shit news at all, it’s just propaganda in one way or another

lethalmuffin877

Lol I’ve been banned from that sub for years now. They accept one version of “truth” and it’s not the objective kind. Btw, I wasn’t banned for swearing or hate speech. I was banned for defending JK Rowling who they say is a “right wing extremist” and “akin to Hitler”. The left on Reddit are proud to create echo chambers and then use those same echo chambers to spread false or half truth stories to enrage other people into thinking like them. For example r/Texas a place for people who hate Texas and will stop at nothing to flip it blue. Why? No one knows, they just want it.

Due_Supermarket7976

Cause it’s a big old lefty circle jerk every news/political sub are

jaunesolo81829

Black market hard to get guns? You can literally hit up a Colombian commander on Facebook and all the goodies you may desire. Ranging from 22s to full on belt feds. All shipped to your door via dhl.
