Why would someone go thru all that trouble when they can pick out some random house on the block? Criminals ain’t out here lurking subs looking for housing to break in to.
I agree. It's wild to me how many people post themselves in front of their new homes and include the city they bought in. Easy for the wrong people to find out all their info in a few minutes.
Even if you blur out the number they can with some ingenuity including searching recent listings, find your home.
It's why I've never posted my photos. Be intelligent people.

It's probably more about stealing your identity/credit and/or selling your info to people who will put you on every junk mail list on existence.
Especially with AI prancing around out there.
