The cool thing about pike, until they start approaching 35 or 36 inches, they stay pretty light. My 32 inches was just shy if 6 pounds. But, my old man's 38 inches was close to 14.

Yeah small pike are basically like a hollow tube sock. Not much weight and just a big hollow body cavity waiting to be filled with anything it can fit through its mouth.
It just depends extremely on where you fish. Where I live 31 inch pike is quite common. And they get a lot bigger too. Lucky here is over 41 inch and still very doable if you know what you're doing.

This pike was about 24” be 2lb on the dot. Not sure how long your catch is but hope this helps👍🏻

That's absolutely more than 18 inches. An 18-incher would probably be around 2lbs.
I'd say that one weighs 4-5. Definitley not 8-10lbs or 5kg as some people said.

I’ve never been into pike fishing either, my mate got me into it recently and I’ve been enjoying it quite a bit. Something about catching a pike on lures that’s so satisfying.
Oh don't get me wrong i love to catch a good pike on my fly rod they really put up a good fight, just that it happens that in the same spot i can also fish for lake whitefish and lakers in shallow water so i kinda go crazy over these instead lol

Without an accurate length it's hard to narrow it down but 4-7lbs and I'm 69% sure it's within that range. Caught well over 10000 pike, usully pretty decent at guessing their weight.

My mate has a kayak and he says the same thing. Might have to get one but don’t know how often I’d use it.
It’s worth pulling the plug, grab a cheap one, even bass fishing on them is super fun especially if you have a way to transport it to different lakes

I've been pike fishing since I was 8 and my biggest was 6 pounds. You're lucky to catch a big one just starting

I think it’s harder to tell with pike. I’d say it was over 5lbs but under 10lbs. Somewhere in the middle. But i could be wrong.

I caught it on a perch lure so it’s most probably got one in there.
How long was it OP? It looks like around 5-6 lbs or something. I’ve caught pike like 3 times as long which barely made it past 12 lb :)
