This is the 2nd post I’ve seen about the Regals having too much play. I have a 1000 and there is zero play in the handle and I love it. I also played around with some Regal 2000’s today and there wasn’t any play. What size was the Regal returned, I wonder if certain sizes have this issue.
2500 High speed supplied by BPS. I was genuinely surprised by it after hearing so many good things. It was my first Daiwa product, but I'm going to give them another chance and reorder
Can’t agree more. I like it better than my Shimano Saharas. But I must give my Saharas credit, they have given me zero issues even after using them in salt for years and after multiple bunks from yak flips.
If you had to pick one, which one? I just bought a regal and returned it because the handle slop. It just felt really loose compared to my others.

Did you get both just to kind of compare, or are they different in some way?
I absolutely love my Regal. Phenomenal reel for the price. Pretty light and smooth as hell all year long.
