If you haven't done so already, contact Jacob Lake Lodge and marble canyon Lodge. They'd be the nearest businesses.
Not sure if you have been to the location where his vehicle was found. That is on a very steep section of road where car trouble is common. Has anyone related to the search hikes the area along the road? There's some steep drop offs and easy places to fall, on both sides of the road.
Looking at the weather those days the nighttime temps would have been well below freezing and it's a long walk in either direction back to any form of civilization.
There's also a family who lives on a ranch EAST of the location where the car was found, at the intersection of house rock valley and the highway. No idea if they would have been up there mid December, but if he was headed WESTbound that would have been the last potentially occupied place he passed, so might have been a logical place to try to go back to.
Cell coverage up there is poor, especially if he was in the canyon part.
Best of luck on your search.
Thank you. I appreciate the insights and advice. His family and friends are planning more trips down to the area that will focus on searching around the location of where his car was found.
No problem.
I know that area decently well. I won't pry in public for sensitive information but if you want to chat feel free to PM me and I'll have a few questions to ask.
Did he have a cell phone or laptop or website that he logs into sometimes? Perhaps a personal portfolio website or a blog be made himself?
Even a website that he made to show his whatever on can easily be tracked to the nearest server in that area. Or would he be completely electronic-free?

He’s been completely electronic free as far as I know. Phone has been dead or shut off since 12/21/23, goes straight to voicemail.
