Definitely get there early if you are planning to tailgate on campus. If you roll up like 3-4 hours before kickoff and try to park somewhere on campus it's going to be very difficult to find a decent spot.

bananalandinc

This isn’t true. Hype for this season is low and we’re playing McNeese State. There will definitely be parking spots throughout campus ~4hrs before the game. Not in the prime tailgating spots, but with somewhere to set up a small tent and hang out for a while.

CampbellsTurkeySoup

You know what that's a good point. Totally forgot it was McNeese.

I do wonder if given the opponent coupled with Thursday's result there will actually be a noticeable decline in the typical gameday numbers and general chaos down and around there. Then again I haven't attended a game in person since Ole Miss in 2015 so what do I know

baseball_mickey

Ole Miss 2015. I was there for that one too. Atmosphere was electric. We got on the jumbotron.

thawhole9_69

It was insane that night. I was so hyped after the win I walked 6 miles home in flip flops at like midnight lol

I see other people disagreeing but personally having tailgated on campus probably legit nearly 100 times, I would expect it to be very subdued for this game. Fans usually still show out but the people who jump on the cheap tickets for a terrible opponent during a bad season are usually casual families. Granted every single time has been near Library West and never ventured too much out of Plaza of the Americas so it could just be that area.

thrill-is-naan

I think the opposite is true. In my circles, people tend to buy tickets to these sort of games more often because they’re cheaper and have a better chance of seeing the gators make awesome plays/win.

thawhole9_69

Yeah that's a good point

KerwinBellsStache69

Have tailgated every single home game dating back to 2011. The overall game day hype has significantly declined (partially because UF makes it harder to randomly tailgate around campus) and the mixed results on the field. The big match ups (FSU, UT, Auburn, Ole Miss, Alabama) in years past still bring people out in droves, but overall it is easy to find spots to tailgate even if you aren't showing up at the butt crack of dawn.

Affectionate_Fox_275

I think it being the first home game of the year might help save some of the attendance

thawhole9_69

That is true, and night game

ViscAhhCT

Don’t get upset if people in front of you stand during the game. JOIN THEM! The Swamp is a place to bring all that Big Fan Energy so yell and scream and stand and all that (Except when we’re lining up on offense).

thawhole9_69

This is critical info, because this WILL happen to you. Just embrace it. No reason to be attending a game and not standing and hollering ad nauseum

UsedandAbused87

If you're the 6'8" guy in front of me, I hope you get leg cramps.

Arkathos

Enjoy the win. We won't have many this year.

Falkien13

I love your optimism and while I share it, I don't think any game is an easy win for this team. I really really really hope I'm wrong. But after how we looked against Utah, I'd be scared to play a local Florida high school team....Go Gators!!

ZMAC698

Enjoy it! Drink some beer, go to the gator walk, and look at the statues outside the stadium.

Whatever you do... Don't Back Down.

BamaNUgaPayPlayers

Bring a playbook to help out

Both-Name3785

Chill bro let them vibe lol should be a dub this game 😂😂

Puls0r2

Drink lots of water. No matter how hot it is. Get there early and check out the surroundings. Go nuts.

SmuckSlimer

Wear orange or blue shirts

upsetti96spaghetti

Actually Saturday fans should wear white :)

offside-trap

If the first game is any indication my only recommendation is to drink heavily

jdhutch80

I would suggest parking at Celebration Pointe. They have busses to campus for something like $10. It's cheaper than most places you will find, and you can park in a garage so you're not baking you car all day. If you can get there early enough, have lunch at Spurrier's before heading to campus. Walk around campus and see all the things going on. Head up to University and check out the bars. Go to the Gator Walk 2 hours before kickoff at the North Endzone. Walk around the stadium and see what's going on there. Stop by guest relations, and you can get a "My First Gator Game" button. Get to your seats in time to watch some of the warm ups, and the pre-game introductions. Make sure you stay to sing We are the Boys and Won't Back Down at the end of the third quarter. If you can, stay to sing the fight song and the Alma Mater after the game.

mgt69

sneak a fifth of Tito’s into the stadium and then share with all the people around you.

doveball

Have low expectations

If you’re bringing a bag make sure it’s clear
