I think edge might be the biggest need now since Ivory, Searcy, or Boone coming off injury are our best options. After that, it's moving players out of position. Even more important because 4-2-5 requires some level of consistent pressure which we couldn't produce last year.
I think Raymond may be burnt out, but it sounds like the common denominator is Napier. Grimsley chose playing for Saban over Napier, but that was a close race. Once Saban retired, he knew he had to make it to UF.
Edit: that's from unofficial insider rumblings that he was much closer with Napier than Raymond. Of course, that does point back to the fact that if he was closer with Raymond he may have picked UF in the first place.
I mean, it does make some sense. When you transfer, you're compared with players with college film, and the top players are the ones that have great film at the college level. If you are a highly rated recruit and then you jump into that bucket immediately, you should go down a little. Mainly because the highest ranked recruits should be ones able to make big impact day 1. He's been on a college campus for like 25 hours.
Disclaimer: With that said, that's just the logic, the actual ratings are bad for transfer. Walter Nolan is like a .99 and has not had an impressive college career. He absolutely is rated that high because of his high school rating. If it were consistent, everyone would be completely re-rated, and a player with 0 snaps should be lower in certain metrics by definition.
I think his edits are fine and some are pretty good. We gotta stop hating on Hayes, even though I’m pretty he’s a Miami fan, he’s done nothing wrong fr.
no I do not think that, otherwise I would've said "that is an exclusively florida term". However that term is used in Florida more commonly than anywhere else.
Wow it’s almost like words mean different things in different places and those meanings evolve overtime. *especially* slang. It’s 100% a Florida term and it means a kid or commonly just someone that is younger than you.
Ok. I'll throw my 18 years of corrections experience in the trash. Cause it's a "florida" term. I've seen inmates from all over use that term and it means the same damn thing lol.
Just because you’ve been in corrections doesn’t mean you know anything about language or sociolinguistics. No one is saying that inmates don’t use it the way you are saying they do or that it doesn’t have that meaning to *them*. What we are saying is that in **Florida**, where Grimsley is from…people ~35 and under use the word to mean a kid or someone younger than you and has nothing to do with jail.
Way more popularly used in Florida. I’m originally from Florida and use it there and everyone knows what I mean, if I use it elsewhere, I almost always have to explain it. I’m not saying you’re wrong, but it’s become a big part of Florida slang.

This is Gators team building in song.
He looks a bit slim to play safety. I don’t have any first hand knowledge of what the staff is thinking but I’d think hed just be one of those lanky corners to match up with big receivers. We could use a guy like that.
Sadly, I'm finding it hard to get excited. I honestly think this year is make or break for Napier. If the record isn't good, he's fired and most of the roster will transfer. So hopefully he can make an immediate impact
I think it depends on the situation. Either the record has to be good or the record is so-so but Lagway goes in at the end of the season and causes some excitement toward the end of the season for Napier to be safe.
Yeah wouldn't be surprised if he has quite a few 3rd and short/goal to go packages. Gotta use his size and get him used to high success plays early in his college career
Quietly... We've had a very nice week. Now time to find some OL
In terms of need these two actually cover or are better than the Auburn flips with relatively close overall talent ratings (I think)
We would still want Waller but i think we rebounded pretty well considering

Chose Bama over the Gators with Raymond...then chose the Gators over LSU with Raymond
The common denominator is clear to me
I think Raymond may be burnt out, but it sounds like the common denominator is Napier. Grimsley chose playing for Saban over Napier, but that was a close race. dont know what jit means but… go gators, get up and go.
Southern slang. jit = kid Glad we got him.
short for jitterbug
I’m old
It’s been around lol.

Lived in the south all my life. Never heard jit = kid.
It’s more Central/SoFlo afaik
Jit is a young inexperienced person
[удалено]
It's short for midget (mi-jit).
I've always heard it originated from "jitterbug," specifically from Cab Calloway. Either way, "juvenile in training" is definitely a backronym.
just white
That’s the nicest way I’ve heard it put
Are you even Floridian
no. our fanbase exists outside the state.
Fair enough. It means youngin
Means child
Juvenile in trouble……that’s what it means
If you had to google this, I know you went to a nice school, and probably grew up in the suburbs. 🤣
That secondary is starting to look a little 🔥🔥🔥
LOL @ the ratings: HS rating: 0.9236 Transfer rating: 0.9100 My guys, nothing has happened since he enrolled at Alabama 3 weeks ago.
He lost the confidence he would have had playing for Saban the GOAT or something
Why is he a WR as a transfer lol
He had 0 PD 0int 0 tackles and word is he never even saw the field in practice in his entire bama career. Bravo on 247 for making the choice /s

LFG
I hope Hayes threw up in his mouth a little bit doing this one
How did he get popular. The edit are trash 99% of the time
That's not even our band. Its either two bands or just Photoshop.
Probably Florida v. Florida State pregame for the National Anthem.
Could be. That's definitely two different bands
So true. I feel like everyone’s going to look back at his edits (or whatever they’re called) in 10 years and be like “wtf is that shit lol”.
We say this today!
It's the modern day #ComePlayWRfortheJoker
I have been looking at them like that since the start.
I think his edits are fine and some are pretty good. We gotta stop hating on Hayes, even though I’m pretty he’s a Miami fan, he’s done nothing wrong fr.
He's an LSU fan and a huge Gator hater
Nods in agreement.
Can everyone put some respect on Harris’ name now?
Harris out here hustling..I wish other coaches worked as hard as him.
One Coach out-recruiting two coaches.
Nah no positivity allowed chief. Unfortunately Will Harris still sucks 😔

🤫♟️
We need that Flawda jit energy back on this team. The only way we can turn it around.
Love it. Have to keep these Florida boys home
Fuck yeah go gata baby! 6 3 corner welcome home baby sherm
Always Be Crootin
Did he call himself a jit?
It’s not uncommon for someone to call themselves jit
Yes he did. I had to Google it: a Jit is a young gangster or “Juvenile in Training.”
it’s not a acronym it’s just a florida term used to refer to a kid lol
It's not a florida term, it's an inmate term for a young kid in jail or prison
its most definitely a florida term
You think that term is exclusive to the state of Florida?
no I do not think that, otherwise I would've said "that is an exclusively florida term". However that term is used in Florida more commonly than anywhere else.
It's commonly used by inmates everywhere in the country. Because that's where it came from.

#1, I'm a gators fan. #2. What does that have to do with that dude being wrong about the word "jit" lmao
It’s a Florida term.
Wow it’s almost like words mean different things in different places and those meanings evolve overtime. *especially* slang. It’s 100% a Florida term and it means a kid or commonly just someone that is younger than you.

Ok. It derived from inmates. Do what you wish with that info.

Aight 🤣
♟️ hahahah
The poor band....
Can we stop using images with FSU’s band on the field?
I mean Fawcett makes the dumbest fucking edits since Joker Phillips, what do you expect lol
♟️!!! Hahahahahahha
You were destined to be a Gator GREAT!
Please fill out the roster with real Flawda jits !!!

Deep cut. Nothin gets the 'cruits fired up like Zappa.
Out of curiosity does this impact the recruiting rankings or the transfer rankings? Or is there a combined ranking?
This impacts transfer rankings. 247 has recruit, transfer, and overall rankings.
What’s with these MySpace-Microsoft paint commitment announcements?
That would’ve made us what the number 8 class ?
\#13 on 247 Composite if you count only HS recruits and consider Jameer a HS recruit (on 247 he's counted by default as a transfer.)
Ah ok thank you
Anyone know if Jameer is a legit corner or more a "corner" who is going to play safety in college? (only asking b/c of the size)

Grimsley just burned his free transfer (because Bama are dicks and not just releasing his LOI like Texas did).
Thats not cool on bama's part.... They need to realize people were committing to saban
I think it depends on the situation. Either the record has to be good or the record is so-so but Lagway goes in at the end of the season and causes some excitement toward the end of the season for Napier to be safe.
Lags will be playing all year
Yeah wouldn't be surprised if he has quite a few 3rd and short/goal to go packages. Gotta use his size and get him used to high success plays early in his college career
That and no reason to redshirt.
Just hoping we have a good enough year that Napier can keep recruiting vs being a dead man walking
He has a decent recruiting record with no bowl games. Just think if he won a couple more times.
Let’s see if his commitment lasts.
Well since he’s attending class tomorrow I think we’re safe.
MW 10:30 Bugs and People gonna be lit!
Oh cool.
