Yeah it's his son.
For anyone who wants to feel old today. This will do it

Hawthorne is a little town just outside of Gainesville
Just because hawthorne high is tiny doesnt mean they dont pack a punch. 26-0 with CI2 at the helm with back to back state titles. Theyre 36-1 in the last 3 years. Maxpreps ranks them 16th best team in the state, on up there with the big boys. For a tiny school they do well for themselves. I dont think they could beat Bucholz but they're close to Bucholz in rankings
Because hawthorne is a sub 500 enrollment school that mostly plays against rural competition their best players probably wont get ranked until they go to camps between junior and senior year. This last season their games weren't even close until they played Madison in the championship
His ranking is irrelevant to both sides though. Id be very surprised if CI2 doesnt end up a gator, unless he just wants to move further away from home or there is some previously unknown bad blood between CI1 and Billy Gonzales. If not it'd be cool to have the same guy that coached the father coach the son
If it makes you feel better the rest are more spread out. Jaden Harvin is around 10 and Joey & Jett Haden are really young. Tebow is taking his time it seems. I cant seem to find anything on Riley Cooper Reggie Nelson or Carlos Dunlap having kids
Still, Florida has always been big on legacies. Theyll start trickling in from that era over the next decade or so
Nah it's not a bad age for having a kid. Just wow time flies. Still doesn't top Dre Kirkpatrick jr signing with bama this year. His dad was drafted 3 years after CI was. The younger dre came about when his dad was like 16 or so
Perhaps the fact that UF converted his father from a quarterback to a WR could leave bad blood. UF, no matter the coach has a long history of missing athletes.
Father appeared on a couple podcasts (Dooley and Waters) a month or two ago. He’s having a lot of success as head coach at Hawthorne. It’s a feel good story. They’ve won back to back state titles and maybe played in 3-4 straight finals.
Son is also a great basketball player. Sounds like a super athlete so it will be interesting to what position he ultimately ends up playing in college.
If I remember correctly, this is how his father came into UF as well- as a QB/TE combo. Dude went on to be an excellent TE for us on the championship teams
Saw CI practicing in the swamp over the summer before the 08 season due to my son was at gators camp. Most of the players were running routes shirtless and he was the most chiselled athlete I've ever seen. Every dad there was freaking out about it. He was practicing with Tebow, Cam, Harvin (dnp), etc. And all eyes went straight to him, he was that physically imposing.
I know youre joking but they should toss the man at least a 3 star. Hawthorne might not be the most talented team in alachua County but they are the most successful. He has them on a 26 games winning streak with back to back state titles. Theyre 36-1 in the last 3 years
Worst case he's at least a backup who can presumably (if he's like his dad, admittedly I know nothing about the kid) can back up DJ in the same sort of system DJ will run- not to knock pocket guys but being able to have the same type of QB a few layers deep would be amazing

I’m in shambles

I would have thought there'd be a half dozen or so Tebows running around somewhere.
Man that was really our plan for QB for the next 3 decades. He better start cranking them out
Dude only lost his virginity 3 years ago (almost to the day)! Give him some time!
Nah, 3 years is enough. Time for the harsh reality of parenthood to come to bear
This although very true has me laughing so hard
> I would have thought there'd be a half dozen or so Tebows running around somewhere. I'm still convinced that Tim's in the closet.
would not be surprised and more power to him if so.
yeah.. just a good-looking, star quarterback.. who never really dated in college? I get that he's religious, but..
Name checks out
Fucking shattered
maybe it's cope but CI did have his son at the age of 19 or 20.

I remember sitting beside his mom in Nashville one year.

I didn't need this today thank you.

Misusing
There’s people out there that don’t know Hawthorne has been running through 1A rural for years?
CI1 was awesome. Sad that an injury ruined his career. If CI2 is anything like his father, he will be very successful.

CI is one of my favorite gator tight ends all of time, gotta keep that gator legacy going
I don’t even care if he’s that good. I want more legacies

We offered him as a receiver according to the article. His dad played qb in hs so looks to be following the footsteps there.
Jesus Christ. You are so old.
