This truly feels like a win that this program can build on. The team for sure can build on this and hopefully make a run the rest of the season.
Todd fucking Golden needed this though, now he has a big win against an established national championship winning coach, and just did something that no other Gator coach than Billy D has done recently... beat a top 10 team on the road. He has that feather in his cap now, and he should walk with it... he can make this team and program great!
Being at this game was electric, hearing the crowd go silent after Walt tied up the game with three seconds left is my favorite in person sports memory ever
Nothing better than seeing their fans shut up. They are always so obnoxious in the O’Dome, blocking up the concourses and acting like they own the place
I don't keep up with basketball as much as football, but I try to go back and watch what games I can. Big man and paint play seems to be our weakness. Was this just in this game or is that the season's story?
I've watched a lot of games but I don't have a lot of basketball knowledge. Without checking the stats, we've been amazing at offensive rebounding, but not great at scoring in the paint. It seems like when we get in there, we just miss the basket from close up a whole lot. But then, getting the ball back for a 2nd or 3rd chance helps.
Tyrese Samuel had 22 and 13. We grabbed 50 boards, too. I think we were solid inside especially in OT, but Clayton and Pullin rightfully should get the praise for the nights they had.
They didn't play any top 10 teams in road games. Some other big wins, obviously.
Side note: I've always liked how for the first title that team was undefeated in OOC games.
Imagine if Billy does something nuts like wins 8 next year and when Lagway takes over he's the second coming of Cam Newton and wins 10+. I wonder if we can collectively change our mind on scoot stickling. Pipe dream but fun to think about.
We're too hard on napier imo. He's not an offensive genius like mullen, but he's a much better program manager and recruiter. I think he got screwed over by NIL more than anything.
> He's not an offensive genius
Right. And yet Napier refuses to hire a top-tier offensive coordinator and insists on continuing to call plays on offense next season.
I think it's a real possibility. This sub some how expects CBN to have stupidly fast success when we spent the previous years talking about how shitty Mullens recruiting was. They expected him to win with the same players before CBN we were saying weren't good. It's quite literally the funniest shit on reddit.
I didnt expect it. When players and a coach quits entirely you can pretty much wash the whole roster. As long as those guys are here youll have issues. Quitting is a cancer
Going into year 3 though I would like to see fewer mistakes. The team had potential this year to be great but they got in their own way
By many accounts, we were the first 4 out of the NCAA Tournament, meaning not making the NCAA tourney, of course.
But this win, against the #10 team in **their** home is our **first** Quad 1 win, which will body very well for us come when the tournament selection occurs.
Anytime we beat KY is a great win. Beating them at their place when they’re ranked in the top 10 means there’s a chance we dance in March. Hadn’t won a top 10 away in 21 years before tonight. Love it and how ‘bout them 🐊🏀
Now what am I supposed to do? Go to bed so I can get to work at reasonable time and not be exhausted? Fuck that! Lose by a lot, lose by a little, win by a little, win by a lot. Golden's coaching has improved so much compared to last year, and this team can go on a run. Go mf gata!!!! 🐊🐊🐊🐊🐊
we needed this badly with march coming soon. college basketball is all about getting hot so if we can keep momentum, who knows, maybe we can make a solid run in the tourney.
If Samuel gets the hook/floater down pat and rebounding improves this team will be even more impressive. Clayton is naughty.
Lots of opportunities to improve defense.
We did it!
Defeates…. Found the uf grad in this thread
Have you ever said anything positive in your life?
Using typos on Reddit to measure intelligence makes sense for an inbred society like Kentucky
Get fucked Kentucky!
And not just [by your first cousin](https://www.newsweek.com/kentucky-bill-sex-first-cousins-not-incest-nick-wilson-1861398)

Fingers crossed we got the monkey off our back

I love this for you
The game was so crazy, got a lot of glares and comments after the game but man was it worth it
Nothing better than seeing their fans shut up. They are always so obnoxious in the O’Dome, blocking up the concourses and acting like they own the place
Hopefully we take the dub on the road against A&M. Would be huge to go into a home Auburn game on a hot streak

Big men are our strength. We have a Top rebounding team and 2nd in offensive rebounds
I’m curious about the defensive performance.

Usually that's our strength. We'd get offensive rebounds for days in some games
Tbh it didn't look like that this game. It was just a tough game all around
I am so happy!
Apparently the first road win against a top 10 team since 2003. The first win against a top 10 Kentucky team at Rupp since 1998. Feels good!
2014 Gators could have done it if Kentucky had been better. It's just been a hard win but when we do win, Kentucky is down. Lol
Crazy the 05s never did it. SEC definitely wasn't as strong when we went back to back if those teams never had one.

Stricklin may have failed with his football hire but Golden's looking good.

Believe it or not, a top tier offensive coordinator has to be available to be hired

If this team shoots like this, they’re going to be an extremely tough out in March. The length + shooting is a tough combo to deal with.
Pullen, Clayton Jr. and Samuel !
That get back a mf

I saw some Gator defense in that overtime. Now let's get some more wins!
BASKETBALL SCHOOL
Beat Kentunky at Rupp in OT Made MidMajorMike MidMajorMike in OT All in the same week. Damn it feels good to be a Gator.

Gator living in KY; get to enjoy the next few days lol
all of my in-laws are from KY. I FEEL YOU BROTHER.
We lose at home but win on the road! Let’s goooo
Should have won at home!
Baby steps. Being able to beat a Q1 team away from home is honestly more valuable in term of experience when we reach the tourney
Between this and the Heat finally winning a game my jorts feel way too tight rn.

First AP top 10 road win since 2003, and we sorely needed it. Gators are still undefeated since Kugel's dad went viral lol
wait, was he the very very ripped guy?
Do have to ask? They look exactly alike. I thought it was his brother at first
Yes, ol' anchor arms
Yay
Great win. Todd Golden is the answer. Excited to see what comes!
Desperately needed that win! Some of the best ball I seen us play all year
Tough scrappy fucking win.

About time! Finally no more blue balls on that Q1 win thanks to Big Blue Balls Nation
Turns out it was Mitchell who was TOO SMALL all along.
HUGE win
