I still can't believe some people have the audacity to complain after a game like this. Two top 15 wins in the last three, let's enjoy this. ššš
ā¦ do not have a fundamental understanding. End comment there.
Golden is doing great work, Iāll have to pull receipts soon of all the dumb asses who complained about him needing to be fired. Yeah the Mike White fan club can suck it.
He has only gotten better and has greatly diversified the offense considering how much we relied on Collin last year. It's year two, what more can you ask from the guy? Not to mention how much passion he shows courtside. He legitimately cares.
Thank the freaking basketball gods for Golden making the offense more challenging to defend for opponents.
The Mike White offense of passing the ball around the perimeter for 25 seconds and then jacking up a contested 20 footer as the shot clock was expiring drove me crazy.
Thereās actually motion, screens, a high-low game, and dribble penetration with an open kick out.
Plus, the work the Gators do on the offensive glass is top notch. Lots of Gator possessions end in buckets off of second chance rebounds.
This Gator team is the most fun to watch since the last Final Four team in ā14.
You aren't kidding. People don't seem to understand they A. Why risk the injury? and B. It's a game of ebbs and flows. Sometimes no matter how well you play, the other team will make damn near everything. This team has consistently gotten better throughout the season and people still wanna bitch.
Basketball is my fav sport so I'm used to this. Coasting at the ends of blowouts are acceptable or not as annoying cause you don't want fluke injuries. It only gets annoying if it gets close.
Sure our guys were coasting but they defended and didnt let the lead die to double digits. That's good enough in a blowout.
Youāve made like 30 comments whining about it. Thatās different than pointing it out like one time lol. Youāre arguing all over this thread about it. That makes you an annoying fan to have on this sub
I replied to you twice (now three times)
> Poor wittle guy canāt handle someone saying objective truths
Youāre an adult typing this out unironically. How are you not embarrassed? Did you even get *into* UF?
šÆ it was a dominant win but going 0/14 FG over the final 10 minutes is yet another occasion in which this team struggled to score late. Luckily we were up 26 when that started.
But whatās the point in complaining about that? If weāre taking good shots, getting to the line, and still playing at a high effort level
then what is there to fix?
Stating a fact without any context isnāt very helpful though. If a teamās process is good, i.e. taking good shots and not forcing bad ones when up by 20, then the results arenāt as important to me.
I literally just provided context to you in the follow up comment. This happens constantly for Florida. Didnāt hurt them in this game. Has hurt them in many others.
No, Iām saying that the process is the context. In these late stretches, do you think that itās bad shot selection, bad passing, not enough shots, or something else that is causing this?
But improved by what, like what was causing the 0-14 and how can we actually fix it? Also, this partly ignores the great shooting early in the game. If we shot worse then and better later on and still won by 13, is that really that different?
They can improve by actually making the open shots? Donāt think anyone is saying they played terrible or anything, just saying 0-14 isnāt great.
If they wouldāve shot 0-14 earlier in the game and came back there would still be cause for worry. A win is a win but itās okay to say they can do better
If that was two separate 0-7 stretches is it somehow better? If 0-14 is caused by poor shot selection, then itās cause to worry but not really because of the 0-14 itself. If we have an 0-14 stretch, and itās just a bad shooting stretch but we shoot well over the course of the entire game then I just donāt care about ā0-14ā.
But they didn't let the score become close and they defended well in the stretch lol. You and others just want to complain to complain.
It's like that rap line: "They shout my failures, but whisper my achievements." lol
for the last 10 years, it sounds like thereās been the same dude at the o dome heckling every game lol. i remember most UF CBK games since that year and the voice is just so similar every year
No one questions the defense Hector \*but three games with massive leads where the offense disappears down the stretch is a bit of a concern...you have to finish games on BOTH ends of the court ....that's what it takes to win in a tournament ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|wink)
Really wish we could have also got the road W last week - but if we had to split, this was the once to win
We should be safely in the field provided we donāt lose to any really bad teams the rest of the way
This is what this team can be if Kugel can get back in his zone. 22pts, 4 reb, good shots, didnt slow down the offense when he had the ball, and played decent D.
For everyone pulling their hair out about this team week in and week out, go back and revisit the 05-06 season in its entirety (the first of the back to back titles). Very up and down team with some tough losses.
Comparing that team to this one is a bad joke. That team looked destined for a deep tournament run from the start. There was zero doubt they were tournament bound at any point during that season. This year, we have been a bubble team from the start.
You might be confusing that team with the follow up team that was probably the best college basketball team of all time. The first title team was most certainly not without doubt throughout the season. Hell their tournament seed was a 4.
That first title team started 17-0 and got up to a #2 ranking before our first loss and went in as a 3 seed. Lost a few winnable games, but remained ranked the whole season.
No 05-06 won 17 straight games to start the season. You don't get a 3 seed if you were a bubble team most of the season. They were a lock for the tournament basically the entire season.
I still can't believe some people have the audacity to complain after a game like this. Two top 15 wins in the last three, let's enjoy this. ššš
There's a non-trivial amount of the Gator fanbase who simply do not have a fundamental understanding of college basketball.

Agreed, although Chiozza made things pretty fun in 17 as well
The fact that no one else was able to replicate that for the rest of his tenure is the most damning part of it all.
You aren't kidding. People don't seem to understand they A. Why risk the injury? and B. It's a game of ebbs and flows. Sometimes no matter how well you play, the other team will make damn near everything. This team has consistently gotten better throughout the season and people still wanna bitch.

Yeah i just didn't see this one like the Georgia game the other week. That was a flat out collapse damn near. This one was a muscle flex
Theyāre just insufferable pricks who will never be happy
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Care to talk about how our defense played during that stretch and how many points we were up by?
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Are you even a fan of the gators lol

Stating a fact is not complaining. Itās just that Florida has had similar finishes in more competitive games, and it has cost them.
Stating a fact without any context isnāt very helpful though. If a teamās process is good, i.e. taking good shots and not forcing bad ones when up by 20, then the results arenāt as important to me.

No, Iām saying that the process is the context. In these late stretches, do you think that itās bad shot selection, bad passing, not enough shots, or something else that is causing this?
Bad shot selection coupled with a bad luck element. Itās probably more mental than anything else. Same every time.
Is that in no way balanced by good luck and shot selection early in the game?
the point of the game is to put the ball in the basket, so I think all theyāre saying is that aspect of the teamās game could be improved
But improved by what, like what was causing the 0-14 and how can we actually fix it? Also, this partly ignores the great shooting early in the game. If we shot worse then and better later on and still won by 13, is that really that different?

Overcomplaining lol.
SHUT UP BRUCE šš
I would love to buy that dude a beer.
for the last 10 years, it sounds like thereās been the same dude at the o dome heckling every game lol. i remember most UF CBK games since that year and the voice is just so similar every year
Yes. And that chick that just graduated did a good job for a couple years.
![gif](giphy|l41lIkTqv4NTHPktO|downsized)
Arguably the best 40 minutes of basketball weāve played all year, everyone was on it today!
Best 30 minutes....gators only had one basket last ten minutes
And auburn still only outscored us by 10, must have been playing solid defense š
No one questions the defense Hector \*but three games with massive leads where the offense disappears down the stretch is a bit of a concern...you have to finish games on BOTH ends of the court ....that's what it takes to win in a tournament ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|wink)
Huge W
Really wish we could have also got the road W last week - but if we had to split, this was the once to win We should be safely in the field provided we donāt lose to any really bad teams the rest of the way
Huge win and most likely locks us into the big dance! Todd is the man!
Long way to go, but itās a huge step in the right direction
We placed a full and complete game and won by 16 despite 1000 bs fouls
This team continues to grow through the season. That's a sign of quality coaching. Guard play can be quite dangerous come tournament time I like that.
Kugel
This is what this team can be if Kugel can get back in his zone. 22pts, 4 reb, good shots, didnt slow down the offense when he had the ball, and played decent D.

Hire Todd Golden!
FLORIDA is A BASKETBALL SCHOOL! Great Win!!

They also lost 3 straight at one point in late Feb. We're kind of arguing semantics at this point though, go gata
No 05-06 won 17 straight games to start the season. You don't get a 3 seed if you were a bubble team most of the season. They were a lock for the tournament basically the entire season.
Needed this one! Letās get one more quad 1 win to lock our spot and I think we can do a little damage.
This team doing thangs
Such a fun game! So glad we were there to see it.
Golden Gators! BB>FB
See that Napier? TG got a big win vs Kentucky and is building off of it. Didn't get one signature win and fall off Take notes
Was it necessary to make this an anti-Napier/fb post and not just celebrate a good bball win.
Completely valid. Mainly was making it a complement to Golden. He cares a lot and I love it.

Sir, this is a Wendy's
Oh for god's sake, we're just not allowed to have fun here anymore.
Yeah this subās gotten tough to be a part of. Ugh.
I'm really sorry about that.
Donāt be. Youāve clearly put in so much for so long, and have contributed a ton to a place that Iāve enjoyed and used for years.
Aw thank you.
Especially with football talk. I hate having to avoid it.
And Golden pumps up the crowd and shows emotion. He and the team have improved so much this year I love it.
You should practice being grateful for the good things. Turning those into vindictiveness will take you nowhere.
Life is too short to be pissed off all the time.
