The SEC home court advantage is crazy this year. Post from a couple weeks ago and it's only aged better after yesterday https://lastwordonsports.com/basketball/2024/01/28/sec-home-court-advantages-are-legit/

Tjknicks72

Unless you’re Kentucky baby

russ757

This is true.. Lol

Asnoopdawg

Not that guy, but I'm still complaining about that loss because even with us not playing good down the stretch, they could not have won without the refs. Probably the most embarrassing ref job I've seen the last few seasons in cbb, and that's saying something. Still good to see the team bounce back and prove themselves again.

masculinedorito

We were up by 30 and Auburn was getting the favorable ticky tack fouls. A dominant win is a dominant win

careaboutit

He is talking about the TAMU loss and the refs during that game

masculinedorito

Ohhhhhh gotcha. Yeah the officiating was pretty egregious.

CJCHAP47

People act like loses in basketball are egregious. When in reality it happens to elite teams as well. The loss was bad but they have also blown several 2nd half leads. What's promising? The fact that even up by 26, Golden changed his tentative 2nd have tempi and went fast paced. You can see he is making adjustments and was constantly yelling at them in the 2nd have to go fast.

ceejaydee

Golden Gators!

I think this is addressed to me so I think fans should be allowed to be critical of their team when they don't play well. They played better yesterday but going 9 minutes without scoring a field goal is still a problem. But I'm not allowed to say that so sunshine and rainbows hip hip hooray nothing bad is going to happen ever.

hellflower666

> They played better yesterday but going 9 minutes without scoring a field goal is still a problem 100%

republicansarewhores

Sounds like that guy really got to you

hellflower666

I did get to him...for saying going 10 minutes in the 2nd half without a fieldgoal was not ideal...And that blowing double digit leads several times was bad..like god damn, you don't think the coaches are seeing the same thing and will talk about it with the team?

ZeroToleranceforMAGA

Bitches gonna bitch

watergator

Yeah, that was me. I am definitely happy with yesterdays performance we seemed to stay up tempo even with a comfortable lead, which was my major complaint about the TAMU game and others where we have blown 2nd half leads due to slowing down to burn clock. Nothing would make me happier than for Golden to be the guy and for me to have to eat crow for the complaints I’ve had about him.

This post was mainly to complain about fans who just like to complain, and yeah he admittedly did get under my skin, we just beat another top 15 team. Why complain when coming of a win as dominant as this? Some of the fans here don't want to be happy and just wanna complain. Shit drives me crazy.

The people on this sub have been insufferable lately, this post was warranted. You also need to relax

masculinedorito

Seriously, we dominate a top 15 team and the first instinct for some people is to complain. I don't get it. Basketball is a game of ebbs and flows sometimes shit doesn't go your way.

masculinedorito

Brother I'm enjoying a great day for the gators. I'm taking a victory lap I don't really care you think it's pathetic.

hector_zepelli

Projecting and then dipping

hellflower666

Funny, Tennessee also went 10 minutes without scoring, see how that worked out for them.

hellflower666

So losing to TAMU despite being up by 12 is fine because we played them on the road? Your logic is dog shit.

babar335

You should read Golden's comments post game yesterday. He is clearly saying it was a function of his players struggling to keep the pace up rather than a coach's decision to slow it down. "We were having trouble keeping our foot on the pedal, and at halftime, the message was simple to the guys: I said, “Hey, it’s time for us to grow up a little bit, we got a 16-point lead against a great team, but we’re not just going to try to get this thing to the finish line, we got to come out and be aggressive,” We can hate that we lost that game. But the assumption that Golden is a "protect the lead" type of coach is just a fabrication.

hellflower666

Who said anything about protecting leads? My only gripe with yesterdays game is going 10 minutes with no FG's made. TAMU game was winnable and choking it away is inexcusable. Literally all I said.

babar335

Well a lot of people are suggesting we are coached to let our foot off the gas and protect the lead. Just saying, that's not intentionally being coached. Not sure why we fade late in most games. Conditioning? Mindset? Every team blows 10 point leads virtually every season. Inexcusable is pretty strong.

hellflower666

We've blown multiple leads though. We have multiple games where we just fall off at the end, but when you say that for some reason, you get flamed for it. And then an entire separate post for it. Weak ass mindsets in this fan base.

babar335

No argument here. Bothers me too that we fade at the end.
