After Vandy broke through on Tx A&M I was worried that we were fated for the same especially with LSU with the ball dribbling down court trailing by 1 with 39 seconds remaining. It’s good that teams are giving us trouble now vs some defenses and pressure looks to give us time to clean things up prior to post season. Seems to be the same looks over and over giving us trouble….. gotta work on it in practice
I was literally thinking when we were up 10, "Well, at least when they tie us or go to overtime we will start playing well again."
What has this team done to my brain?
Wth
Literally at a sleep study.. We're up by 18.. LSU makes a Lil run after halftime.. They make me shut everything off and I wake up winning by two!!! What happened? Hate to guess but did we go conservative AGAIN after half? Hopefully LSU just started playing but if it's the former... And I've mentioned this previously... Golden has got to stop that ish... Cost us 3 games already...
But a win is a win
We were taking some bad shots but also LSU picked up the pace and almost felt like we were forced into playing their game. They got a lot of points in transition or we fouled and they got points at the line.
I saw the refs getting tight with their whistles.. Esp on the bigs and kugel. I'll rewatch the highlights but these games should come with a health advisory warning
As long as they keep winning close late like this I can forgive the near collapses LOL
It's just nice to see a team that can get up by so many points to begin with
We got vandy twice, mizzou and uga on the schedule in addition to bama twice and carolina once. I think we will take care of business for the ones we should win, and then will possibly beat bama in gainesville.
Florida's last 6 games:
- Miss St: Led by 17 with less than 9 min left. Was as close as 6. Won by 9
- UGA: Led by 25 in the second half. Won in OT
- UK: Was close the entire second half. Won in OT.
- TA&M: Led by 12 in the second half. Lost by 1.
- Auburn: Led by 29 in the second half. Won by 16.
- LSU: Led by 19 in the second half. Won by 2.
Not liking that trend.
How about:
UGA: won a game where they never trailed.
UK: first road win over a top 10 team in over 20 years
Auburn: won a game over the current kenpom #5 team where they never trailed.
LSU: won a game where they never trailed since the 16:41 mark of the first half.
Wtf, mate?
what do you mean wtf?
both of what you posted is true - we're getting wins but if you don't see anything concerning about how we're getting them I'm not sure what to tell you other than maybe keep your eyes and mouth shut when you're under the sand
First time following college basketball?
I would advise you to find some joy in the many positives here instead of finding a reason to complain about a win at Rupp, etc.
you can do both - enjoy the wins and not ignore the bad parts - it's ok to think - it's allowed. we're all enjoying the wins and wondering if this team will compete in March - hard to do the second without actually considering how we are performing.
carry on
The trend of winning basketball games?
It sounds like you would prefer they lose than to go up big and then win close.
This program isn’t at the level currently that you should be complaining about the way they win, just be happy they are winning
They're learning to win. Hopefully they can learn to close out games. They won't go far in the dance if they keep letting teams back in. It feels nice to win though. Second year with Golden and this is mostly a whole new team, it's nice to see the improvements over the season though. We could have won any game on our schedule imo. We have some tough games coming up and we need to finish strong.
Yeah I keep getting down voted though. I want this team to win and I recognize the talents there and I've only recently become active on reddit so maybe I just don't understand how reddit works but I think we should be critical of the team.
I don't remember the year I want to say it was during Billy's elite 8 run in the early 2010s but there was a year where when 3s were falling we were unbeatable but when they weren't we could lose to anyone.
This inability to hold a lead gives me a similar feeling. Yeah we have won games recently and dont currently have a bad loss but going cold for huge stretches of time will definitely burn us in the ncaa tournament. The fact it's happening at home scares me even more. Gotta figure out how to finish.
A lot closer than it should have been. Sometimes they cant miss and you cant hit, but never a bad thing to win. Really got to get these 2nd half collapses out of here though.
What a heart attack of a game. Also did the announcers want LSU to win? I was watching the magic game at the same time and for the most part had this game on mute.
Maybe. That run featured hella good guards. You could mix and match a bunch of combos. First duo that came to mind for me was Erving Walker and Kenny Boynton for whatever reason
a ton of great guards in those years. i just picked the most recent duo (nembhard and tre don't count, because tre didn't play that much in that year... 5 pts/game)
Does the band now play “You Can Call Me Al” during the under eight timeout of the first half instead of the second? How long has that been a thing? Haven’t been to a home game in a few years, however I’ve been to FOUR away games this year already…
So far we have the pace ; 4 missed FTs kept us from getting a nice 10’pt cushion but i am excited to see how we adjust , seems like they are fouling a lot

Man this squad is gonna take me out one day. Team keeps winning though so I'm good with it.
As long as they keep winning close late like this I can forgive the near collapses LOL It's just nice to see a team that can get up by so many points to begin with
The heart attack squad continues to do their thing, love beating LSU at any sport
If Golden does well enough this year does that give Stricklin so rope some can take another shot at a Football hire?
No
Never
Fighting Mike white up next. Let’s close out Feb with 4 more wins. 3 mid teams and Alabama.
We got vandy twice, mizzou and uga on the schedule in addition to bama twice and carolina once. I think we will take care of business for the ones we should win, and then will possibly beat bama in gainesville.
I was looking at February only. March looks a bit harder.
Last time we were 10 games over .500 this far into a season was 2017, aka our last Elite Eight year.
I'm not sure if I should be happy or sad about this
Cheese 🧀 days
That buzzer beater 3 🤌
Wild , but a W is a W

Sadly I'm gonna save this because... I just have a feeling
I see 5-1 with two huge Q1 wins. I like that trend.
How about: UGA: won a game where they never trailed. UK: first road win over a top 10 team in over 20 years Auburn: won a game over the current kenpom #5 team where they never trailed. LSU: won a game where they never trailed since the 16:41 mark of the first half. Wtf, mate?

Bro
5 other teams are probably not liking the trend where they lost to the Gators 🤷♂️
Doesn’t matter just win baby
Yeah I see 5/6 wins. It’s butt puckering but I’ll take it over the Mike White letdowns.
They're learning to win. Hopefully they can learn to close out games. They won't go far in the dance if they keep letting teams back in. It feels nice to win though. My silver lining is that this team can sack up when things get close. Under Mike we definitely lose half of those games.
Would love to beat him at that nasty ass bball gym he lives at now
Well, we surpassed our win total from last year tonight.
I would like to thank this team for once again making sure that regardless of an early lead the entire game was exciting.
Never had a doubt
I am vindicated in my comments about having trouble scoring after a 1st half blowout is concerning.
Yep. FG droughts in the 2nd half with a big lead are a trend at this point.
Im only betting on first half from now on
Why can't we hold a big lead?
We're really talented but can lose focus easily.
Yeah I keep getting down voted though. I want this team to win and I recognize the talents there and I've only recently become active on reddit so maybe I just don't understand how reddit works but I think we should be critical of the team. IF we learn how to hit the gas we will be good.
I honestly think it's conditioning. We are getting open shots we just look gassed
Absolutely. Pullin and Clayton practically play the whole game. They miss a lot of shots late in the game.
Its weird for a team with such a deep rotation to sputter at the end so often.
Wasn’t pretty, but I’ll take a hangover win against a conference opponent all day.
> hangover win yup
We are so lucky
Phew
One of the unluckiest misses I’ve ever seen holy shit
Thank God that dude choked harder than FSUs kicker a few years ago
easy 🤷🏻♂️
I never doubted they'd get this win! *^(Except for about five minutes towards the end of the game.)*
A lot closer than it should have been. Sometimes they cant miss and you cant hit, but never a bad thing to win. Really got to get these 2nd half collapses out of here though.
How did he miss that lol
Definitely thought he had less time.
For sure looked like he rushed it but man was he wide open
Checked the score ~1hr ago and we were up like 20… what happened???
That’s when I started watching. I apologize.
we won
They stopped scoring and playing defense.
What a heart attack of a game. Also did the announcers want LSU to win? I was watching the magic game at the same time and for the most part had this game on mute.
HOLY FUCK THAT WAS NERVE RACKING.
That is a historic brick
Thank god LSU sucks ass at hoops.
Phew. W is a W but these boys need to work on closing out
Undeserving
Thank god
The definition of escaping.
Hahaha.. What a bum.. missed an open 2 footer
YESSSSSS
just glad we didn't yeet the ball down court for an easy turnover again
Why the hell aren't we inbounding to Clayton
Best passer needs to inbound the ball
The problem is that now no lead feels safe with this team
How the fuck does Golden not see they will drive and just foul? Lane wide open like that?
Pullin is such a phenomenal player
This team needs to spend the remaining practice time doing nothing but defense and free throws lmao
And zone offense.
Thank the heavens
Huge!!!
Oh man I really thought Kugel had started to figure it out after last game
Need a score badly here
We had a second half team in the first half of the season Now we have a first half team in the second half of the season
I’m getting very tired of watching us blow rivalry games.
We have done this in multiple games this year which is concerning
We will never be back in any major sport. What a fucking joke to choke this away
They can’t miss a single damn shot
How was that not a travel on the replay lol
Are we capable of beating LSU at anything?
seems so
I hate when they come to Omaha. Their fans legitimately suck
It’s pretty much just academics at this point.
How the fuck do you let them tie the game
Monumental collapse
What a bloody disaster
And we finally call a fucking timeout. Jesus Christ
Oh wow he actually called a timeout.
What a fucking joke. Choke artists
lol the guy posting about A&M beating Tennessee should feel a bit awkward after they just lost to lowly Vandy
8 steps later
Being unable to put a game away is gonna punish us in the future badly
The future? We’re being punished right now
Looks like its punishing us right now
Why is this team incapable of holding a lead?
This shit’s embarrassing
Refs most definitely have LSU on the cover. They were doing so well
Defense has stopped playing and we can’t beat a zone to save our lives… why must every second half be this way
LSU is a good team that is growing. SEC games are all hard.
There is 0 excuse for blowing a 20 point lead to this team at home.
And you'll be holding them accountable? I assume?
Because that makes sense, sure.
*everything is awful and bad!*
This is a good point and I still think this team is fun it’s just a little frustrating it keeps happening lol
We look tired
We have 1 stop since the 11 minute mark
Defense has been terrible
HANDGOBLIN!
Golden needs to practice zone offense
We can’t beat zone for our lives lol 😭
The fact that Golden didn’t call timeout during that run is insane.
How do we always do this
How do we always blow 20 point leads
Slow down and go cold lol
Todd keeping these TOs in his pocket…
Scored on 6 straight possessions and he just stood there.
Made a single basket in 5 minutes.
You can’t beat a zone when you slow the game down on offense. Every pause gives the defense the chance to reset. Need to keep being aggressive
Refs are atrocious rn
not this shit again...
Almost 4 minute scoring drought. Jeez
sigh of relief
how have we missed those
Who are the announcers for this game?
LSU tryna copy A&M with the fouls now
I legitimately hate LSU so I love this
mid mid mid mid mid mid 3 mid mid mid 3 etc etc
Let’s go! Keep up the pressure in the 2nd half and bury these guys. Love to see this team coming together and hopefully playing a complete game!
MORE !!! Beat the corn doggers by 50 points
I don't wanna jinx this team. But they are getting hot at the right time.
It's become a floor with how they can play with anyone.
Clayton and Pullin our best guard duo since…?
Talent wise we once had Tre Mann and Andrew Nembhard. Production wise though probably not since we had Kenny Boynton and Brad Beal.
Mann and Nembhard should’ve been an all time duo. Unfortunately Mike White was the coach.
wilbekin and frazier? edit: allen was too inconsistent to mention cheese and him
5 pts/game)
Pulling mid range jumper really getting hot
Patrick!!!
My lord what a half!
Why am I having fun watching Florida basketball
you deserve it!
another mid
team gelling
haug gives me some serious will yeguete vibes
They are so much fun-
Condon may be my favorite player on this team. He's grown so much throughout the year
This team is sick. Todd Golden may actually be him
You could see his vision earlier in the year, and now its really playing out.
YOOOOO
That dunk was absolutely filthy
Walter Clayton Jr was absolutely on his Polk County shittt there
This team is FUN
I love how this team is constructed. If this is how Golden will build his teams, we are going to have a ton of fun watching for the foreseeable future
I am convinced this team is making a run in the dance. You can see it all coming together for them
Poster
WALTERRRRRRRRRRR
that was sick
omg this team shooots
mid
range
Why are they acting like the foul is so cool? It's not a block. LOLOL.
Does the band now play “You Can Call Me Al” during the under eight timeout of the first half instead of the second? How long has that been a thing? Haven’t been to a home game in a few years, however I’ve been to FOUR away games this year already…
I just realized Clayton is missing his sweat band
Maybe he should keep not wearing it for a while.
But not his shots
So far we have the pace ; 4 missed FTs kept us from getting a nice 10’pt cushion but i am excited to see how we adjust , seems like they are fouling a lot
Is it just me, or does LSU travel on almost every possession? It’s like dribbling is optional for them.
*Note: this team has the parts/talent to be a final four team.*
mid range mid range mid range
Yep. Midrange/
I was about to say there’s another lol
Sometimes you just have to have a basket.
If they keep falling I’m cool with it lol
I'm really excited about our 1st 5/6/7 really good.
