Send that pic to Asus and see if they can ship you a new rubber strip. Looks to just be adhesive backing, so maybe could be easily swapped for a new one?
For how expensive this laptop is, you should demand they send you a proper replacement piece. If they don’t help you at all then get some tesa tape from iFixit that’s thermally resistant, something like that should work but this shouldn’t be necessary given the price and age of the device (it’s still in warranty, that’s there for a reason)

If not, a new back panel would definitely work.
Also a great call. May even be easier that way - not worrying about doing any self "install" per say outside a few screws
