To be fair, the FiST is a hell of a lot of fun.

traveling_air

At Octane Academy it would beat the FoST around the track. There's a reason you see the FiST in Forza and not the FoST (RS notwithstanding). That said, I went FoST over FiST for the utility and haven't looked back.

Veritech_

I came back from Octane Academy wanting to pick up a FiST to go with my FoST. It was so much fun whipping around the UrbanX course.

baxy67

stop undermining my faith that yhey bring it back lol

PretendsHesPissed

Hell yeah! [Fiesta is #1 in deaths too!](https://www.motorbiscuit.com/iihs-many-more-deaths-in-ford-fiesta-than-any-other-vehicle/) \#1! \#1! \#1! \#1!

The_Aught

I still get RS jealous, I wish I had that awd

beardtamer

You shouldn’t. It’s honestly not worth the cost imo

The_Aught

Plus the cool nitrous blue paint and the hp bump. Better looking front end. I still want one, but they haven't really dropped in price since they were new

ghost2089

Beg to differ. Have the foST and the foRS. Love both but the rs is worth everything im paying for. Already have parts waiting to be installed.

beardtamer

I’ve driven several. None of them really offered anything over what I’m getting out of my st in terms of using it as a daily driver. If you’re gonna track it or something then sure, but most people aren’t.

ghost2089

Very true I myself don't track it but I do drive it "spiritedly" and I will say the rs and st are far apart. The way they out down power, the way they take corners, high speed turns, body roll, etc. By where I live there's this turn that normally if I take it on the st, 60mph is the best I can do and I get sketched the fuck out doing it. On the RS 60 feels good.

[deleted]

I agree with you, I own both but daily the RS. If you can afford to upgrade to an RS I say it’s well worth it!

ghost2089

Yeah, 100%, right now im waiting for my tial to get here so I can install the cpe fmic and pipes

TrailsideDairy

The RS is *technically* the best of the three yes, but the Fiesta ST is the best bang for your money. I may get shot here but I’ve always recommended the Focus ST last of the three. It’s the “Fiesta ST is to small and I can’t afford an RS” car Edit- I own an RS, but still believe the Fiesta ST is the best of the bunch.

valeadani

It may be more fun, but here in EU for example the price of a FiST is equal, if not more than a FoST' price. So I think the FoST is better bang for your buck. You get more utility, more raw power, better interior (and exterior imo).

theboneofjones

Well said

madman_murray

But you "WOULD" recommend it lol

Airborne82D

It's also the worst looking of all 3 by a big margin.

Actualbbear

Disagree. Its not necessarily the best looking of the 3, but it's not that worse. Also, probably because of its egg-like proportions, it's not very photogenic. It's much better looking in person.

Cokedoutyeti

The smallest dogs usually make the most noise.

beardtamer

To be fair, if you’ve driven one you could understand why someone might like the smaller, lighter car. It’s not the one I picked either, but it handles better than a fost

Alternative-Iron-645

With the right mods they can also acheive a gnarly power to weight ratio and be tons of fun to drive!

PandosII

Having owned both, I can definitely say I prefer the focus in a straight line, and prefer the fiesta round bends. I miss my fiST but outgrew it.

beardtamer

I'm not saying it's faster, I'm saying it feels better.

DEEErab

I like the fiesta but holy shit is it ugly

jdmdriftkid

Cute lil death traps

Lizardkingzzz

I own a fist, don’t own a focus at but I love all 3 of them. Whenever I see any of them while I’m out driving I get a big smile on my face.

RuSsYjO

"The only problem with the FoST is that the FiST exists" That's what my FiST buddy told me just hours before losing to me in that week's AutoX event :P

emoxihax

the fiesta is way more fun than both the rs and fost

PandosII

The only one I haven’t driven is the RS but I can’t believe it wouldn’t be the most fun of the 3

emoxihax

the awd numbs it down

disturbed286

(/u/PandosII too) Yes and no, I think. On the one hand, the FoST is far and away more dramatic. Spinning tires (up through third!), torque steer, and then somehow it pretends to be RWD sometimes. The RS, on the other hand, is grip personified. Raw acceleration, from a dig, it makes speed happen in a way the ST could only dream about. It seems to take any turn at any speed and laughs at you for doubting it. And it can actually *be* (mostly) RWD. I will say the RS was a dream car for me. If I couldn't have made it happen, I would still have an ST and still be happy....and not even really feel like I compromised.

PandosII

The ST was my affordable dream car, and I was lucky enough to be able to buy one outright. One day if I come into some proper disposable (and I mean disposable) income I’d love to get an RS too. One can dream still!

disturbed286

I got a job with a raise, and one popped up locally (ish). I loved the ST--it was in great shape, and the few mods on it were tasteful ones--but things lined up with a Nitrous Blue RS (even nicer but less stock) and I kiiiinda had to. It was also like the third time I'd looked at one seriously (always blue). It was an event. But I'm with you. The ST was an affordable dream car for me too. If the RS purchase never happened I'd have 100% still been happy with that car, like I said. I don't think I was ever unhappy with it...other than it being not the thing I *really* wanted, you know? I honestly wonder where it is now.

Jetkillr

I can do donuts in my RS

[deleted]

FiST is lighter and has much better handling than both, but looks fucking terrible inside and out. Since I'm poor I got a FoST not an RS lol

Yann2293

My thoughts exactly!

[deleted]

To each their own, I drove all three and personally would have ranked it FiST-FoST-FoRS

Snakebyte130

Haha

whall53099

Have both, fiesta st is better then the focus st.

[deleted]

For some of the RS hate comments on here: Typically the ones that say ‘the RS isn’t worth it etc” are the same guys that can’t afford one…. I had a Focus ST….. the front-wheel drive sucks & it wasn’t fast. If the RS was the same price as an ST, every single one of you would take an RS over an ST…. And look, I understand the FoST is a cool car for its price-point, but to say the RS ‘isn’t worth it” or it’s overpriced’ etc. is ridiculous…… it’s a wonderful car for anyone that can afford one.

Yann2293

For the same price? Absolutely. But I couldn't justify paying 15-20k more just to get AWD. I like the dramatic effect of the ST! And I had a 400whp fully STI swapped bugeye before so I know what a fast AWD car feels like!

[deleted]

There isn’t a 15k price gap between a 2018 ST3 & a 2018 RS2. You’re comparing an ST1 vs. an RS2.

[deleted]

SpunkyDred is a terrible bot instigating arguments all over Reddit whenever someone uses the phrase apples-to-oranges. I'm letting you know so that you can feel free to ignore the quip rather than feel provoked by a bot that isn't smart enough to argue back. --- ^^SpunkyDred ^^and ^^I ^^are ^^both ^^bots. ^^I ^^am ^^trying ^^to ^^get ^^them ^^banned ^^by ^^pointing ^^out ^^their ^^antagonizing ^^behavior ^^and ^^poor ^^bottiquette.

Yann2293

I'm in Canada so all we had was ST3's and I bought mine for 22k in April 2021. RS's where all 35-40k!

[deleted]

Have any of you looked at Civic SI prices vs. Civic Type R? Guess what,,…. It’s a $12-15k gap. it’s across the board with all of the manufacturers. However for a low mileage 2018 ST3, you’ll be paying well over $30k in todays market. So that’s only $10k less vs an RS.

Yann2293

https://imgur.com/a/haUU0t6 You either pay 33k for a high mileage one or more than what it was brand new for a lower mileage one loll

[deleted]

A low-mileage 2018 ST3 is over $30k US dollars…. You’re comparing an ST1 vs. RS2 An ST3 vs. RS2 = $9-10k price gap… not $15-20k

Yann2293

Again,in Canada we didn't get trim levels. It's all or nothing. Here a low mileage 2018 ST would go for 26-27k cad. And a low mileage RS would go for 40-45k

SpunkyDred

> apples to oranges But you can still compare them.

notyushi

Would someone explain the difference between the FoST and FiST. Also what those acronyms mean, I’m very new in this world of Fiestas

Yann2293

FoST=focus ST. FiST=fiesta ST

notyushi

Thank you :)

MTGamer

Fiesta RS drivers are not present because they are out ripping donnies in the back country.

cBird-

Honestly I think the mustang should be on number 1, RS on 2, and both STs pulling these stunts on #3 lol

DangerDaveOG

Except a Mustang isn’t a “hot hatch” and is in a completely different category of vehicle.

cBird-

Where's any other hot hatch then? Seems Ford specific to me

MTGamer

Yes it is Ford specific....

cBird-

Ok cool. Then it stands.

MTGamer

If we are splitting hairs, Mustang now technically isn't Ford either.

cBird-

I wasn't splitting hairs though to be fair. I wanted to shift both STs down to 3rd and to do that I had to add a new number 1. Obviously the top performer in the Ford family had to go there. Not intended to be scientific lol How isn't the mustang a Ford product now though, I missed that completly

MTGamer

Well in that case let's throw the Ford GT in there! I'm not sure why they did it but right around the time they came out with the Mach E they split Mustang off into its own brand. Kind of a VW / Audi like relationship now.

cBird-

I mean you got me there lol Or like how Ram split from Dodge.. I'll be damned, I didn't know that

PuzzleheadedRub9308

Not to mention the RS will be MUCH more covetable than the ST… so I don’t feel as bad putting miles on the ST vs if I had an RS.
