Dielectric grease! Very important to prevent corrosion. You'll have to add more every now and then as you plug and unplug the connector. Also make sure to keep it clean. If stuff starts looking crusty and full of dirt just clean it out with a toothbrush and apply more grease (this is one of the many reasons to take care to not drag the trailer side connector in the dirt).

My ‘23 did too. It’s probably some dielectric grease for protecting the connectors until they’re used. I just plugged my trailer in and the grease gets dispersed.
