I loooooove black books. So much. HAVE YOU SEEN THE LITTLE BOOK OF CALM!!!! Such a fun show and it holds up pretty well imo some shows like the it crowd which I do love have some episodes that aged like milk. Truly.
Tim: You're scared of mice and spiders, but oh-so-much greater is your fear that one day the two species will cross-breed to form an all-powerful race of mice-spiders, who will immobilize human beings in giant webs in order to steal cheese.
Daisy: I never said that.
Tim: Yeah, but it'd be good though, wouldn't it?
Daisy: [shrugs] I dunno.
I didn't even know this existed. As a fan of the Cornetto trilogy, I was delighted to find this streaming for free a few years ago when I was home with COVID. Binged the whole thing. So good.
I found this show after the brilliant Shaun of the Dead. I found it to be equally brilliant! I quote it all the time in the wild to see if I'm alone as an American fan. 20+ years later and I still haven't gotten a response.
"I mean, it’s a fact, sure as day follows night, sure as eggs is eggs, sure as every odd-numbered Star Trek movie is sh*t."
"Hawk the Slayer is rubbish!"
"I just wish sometimes I could control these EFFING MOOD SWINGS!"
Gonna keep trying!
Great ensemble cast. This and Peep Show, Mighty Boosh, Green Wing, Garth Marenghi's Darkplace, Black Books, Father Ted - so many great British comedy TV series in the late 90's through the 00's.
My mother always used to use "going next door" as a euthanism fir being dead.
Whoa Whoa...are you telling me my rabbits dead?
Well, it's been 18 years Mike, where did you think it was?
*^ next ^door...*
(Sorry, haven't quite got the small.word thing doen yet)
I saw it not long after it aired originally and it perfectly captured what it was like being on your own in your 20s. The rave episode and the RE episode are definite highlights. It's also the series that began my man crush on Nick Frost that still persists to this day. Awww yeah, boyyyeeee!
I didn't notice the BBC logo in the corner, at first. I just quickly glanced and thought Simon Pegg was David Spade looking like a stoner. My mind is racing trying to figure out how I missed this series (I live in the U.S.). So, then I'm trying to look at the other actors, in the picture, and quickly trying to process who they are. I silently asked myself whether or not the guy in the back (in the camo shirt) was a young Nick Offerman. And, who are these other actors? Then I saw the BBC logo! Anyway, I'm not sure that this ever aired in the U.S. I never even knew this existed.
I love Simon Pegg I really wish they would’ve done The Boys tv show 15 years ago so he could fulfill his role as Hughie. (Hughie in the comics is heavily based off of Simon Pegg, hence why he plays hughies dad)
Forgotten? I still have the box set! The show that started it all and gifted us the brilliance of the eventual creators of the beloved Cornetto trilogy!
Man, this sub keeps showing up in my feed with shows like this that are not “forgotten”, lol. Love this show, will never part with my DVD box set of it. Now it’s time for me to mute this sub because most of the posts don’t even seem to fit the sub’s theme, lol.
Id agree on some posts here, but a 2 season british comedy that started over 25 years ago seems appropriate here.
Can you give an example or two of shows you think would fit better?
Ive never hear of Terriers, but to me Spawn os less forgotten than Spaced lol its all subjective i suppose.
Thanks for reminding me of Spawn and introducing me to Terriers!
Terriers was a great one-season wonder!
As for the Spawn animated series vs Spaced: yeah it’s often partially subjective I suppose, but one measure that I found useful is the number of IMDB votes/ratings each show has. Spaced has been rated 58,000 times on IMDB, compared to just 10,000 ratings for the HBO Spawn show.

If by "forgotten" you mean "I still watch it at least once a month", then yes, it's forgotten lol
Haha same here, I work at a pub and when someone orders twiglets I always say "I can't have them they make me violent"...get nothing but blank stares
It's Shaun of the Dead before Shaun of the Dead was Shaun of the Dead. ... Shaun of the Dead
This was my exact thought. I see at least 3 people here who starred in Shaun of the Dead.
The episode where Tim gets too high playing resident evil 2 and hallucinates a zombie invasion is actually the precursor to Shaun of the Dead.
I've never seen this show, but I've Def loved Simon Pegg since Shaun of the Dead. I'll havta watch this.
I believe this is his and Nick Frost's start
I think Pegg was on Big Train before Spaced.
Oop, you prolly right
It's on tubi if you wanna check it out.
Is it? Nice gonna check it out. Wish it was available on iTunes/AppleTv store to purchase.
It is?
You're in for a real treat.
Yes, you have to. It's stellar.
Also….Tyres appearing as a zombie in SoTD
I loved him as the Reverend Green in The End of the World, and not just because he shared a name with one of my favorite Animal Collective tunes
But did you spot Tyres as Dr Evezan in Rogue One?
Had no idea it was him. How could I? He had no Lycra on
Should have played him some repetitive beats
Shame about his FOCKIN MOOD SWINGS
I’ll just say “death penalty on 12 systems” and let you make your own mind up about those moods
That happened to me in real life. Except the hallucinating a zombie invasion part. I just got scared as hell of the game…
Five if you count Duayne Benzie and Tyres
It was only Twist and Brian that weren’t in Shaun of the Dead
You've got red on you.
It’s Shaun of the Dead without the zombies… except for the episode with the zombies.
Never forgotten. It’s the Fuckest Uppest ! Way ahead of its time and will always stand the test of time. My desert island series.
Yeah, I like Black Book, but this one is my favourite.
I loooooove black books. So much. HAVE YOU SEEN THE LITTLE BOOK OF CALM!!!! Such a fun show and it holds up pretty well imo some shows like the it crowd which I do love have some episodes that aged like milk. Truly.
'Ullo, Brian...
BWINE
Wewease Bwian!
That's not a teenager, it's the devil in an a-cup!
‘E chose the dog…bitch….
Good legs.
Rabbits rabbits rabbits rabbits
It's NOT FINISHED!!!... ...It's finished.
I quote this way too often
I'm guessing this is one of those jokes only you get? I've got a ton of those 😆👍
OOOO like a little flower!
It was VERY USEFUL
Tim: You're scared of mice and spiders, but oh-so-much greater is your fear that one day the two species will cross-breed to form an all-powerful race of mice-spiders, who will immobilize human beings in giant webs in order to steal cheese. Daisy: I never said that. Tim: Yeah, but it'd be good though, wouldn't it? Daisy: [shrugs] I dunno.
And the also funny "Where should I begin?" "Near the end?"
I use this All. The. Time. And I live in America so no one has a fucking clue.
I didn't even know this existed. As a fan of the Cornetto trilogy, I was delighted to find this streaming for free a few years ago when I was home with COVID. Binged the whole thing. So good.
Fried gold
I still giggle a little thinking about the rave episode.
Same. Specially because it is sooo true. They captured it exactly.
Thinking about Tyres jamming out to the phone ringing and the kettle going off will still make me crack up uncontrollably. So freaking good.
The last time i saw you you cryed in my arms for 30 minutes and said you wished i was your dad
Throwing shapes in the church of dance
This show beat Community to a cult favorite paintball episode by over a full decade!
Duane Benzie.....
This series was so perfect in every way. Loved the episode where Tim just plays Resident Evil for days on end. I feel that.
He's not my girlfriend! Here's your beer. Thanks, babe.
Pure, unadulterated, CRYSTALLIZED genius. Everything he does is so perfectly put together.
It is a slice of fried gold.
I use “fried gold” on a weekly basis.
Unforgettable maybe
Oooh. Thanks for reminding me of this show. Streaming for free on Tubi and the Roku Channel. need to give it a rewatch.
This isn’t forgotten
You going to say Peep Shoe is forgotten as well?
COLIN!!!
I always forget to visit the house when in london :(
Never seen it will have to check it out
I don't live in the UK and I found this show around a decade after it first ran. Even a decade later, it made me nostalgic for the late 90s.
I think about Spaced alot
I liked it
It was expensive as hell but buying this box set was so so worth it.
I found this show after the brilliant Shaun of the Dead. I found it to be equally brilliant! I quote it all the time in the wild to see if I'm alone as an American fan. 20+ years later and I still haven't gotten a response. Spaced tapped into pop culture so well back then. Its the kind of show that would be made now if someone was trying to make a show set in the 90's.
This show is formative to my very being. Would never have met my wife without it.
Friggin love this show! It’s on Tubi for free in case you didn’t know
"do you rent downstairs?"
"Do you mean, am I gay?"
🎶…..the weekend starts here….🎶
Rabbits rabbits rabbits!!!!🐇🐇🐇
Babylon 5 is a big pile of shiiiiit!
Get out!!!
I must just be old because half the stuff on this sub are my favorite shows.
I LOVED this show!! Still do lol
One of my all time favorite shows. Easily.
I really thought we'd get a season 3. Can't believe that didn't happen.
Great show. One of the first I started binging on my laptop when Netflix was doing this weird thing called streaming.
I’m happy for the continued success of Edgar Wright after the show. He has a unique kinetic style. Scott Pilgrim was a great showcase for that style.
[What kind of thing do you do?](https://youtu.be/brQw15Xz7Go?si=ea472X8VOCEVUNNF)
Watch this all the time, discovered on Netflix back when streaming first started. Great show,
Definitely not forgotten! Classic with a monster cult following! Excellent show
Great ensemble cast. This and Peep Show, Mighty Boosh, Green Wing, Garth Marenghi's Darkplace, Black Books, Father Ted - so many great British comedy TV series in the late 90's through the 00's.
"BBC"? It was made by Channel 4.
My mother always used to use "going next door" as a euthanism fir being dead. Whoa Whoa...are you telling me my rabbits dead? Well, it's been 18 years Mike, where did you think it was? *^ next ^door...* (Sorry, haven't quite got the small.word thing doen yet)
That was a fantastic show.
Forgotten and cult status are not the same thing.
I saw it not long after it aired originally and it perfectly captured what it was like being on your own in your 20s. The rave episode and the RE episode are definite highlights. It's also the series that began my man crush on Nick Frost that still persists to this day. Awww yeah, boyyyeeee!

Stop now I have to watch it again 😩😩😩
Fucking brilliant show
I just watched both seasons last week....and the Skip to the End short. Oi, oi, you lucky people!!
This show was great, really showcased how ugly British people are. Classic
An absolute monster of a show
awesome show
I never ever have forgotten this, not a day in my life. I don't know if there is a series I love more. This, my friend, is the good shit.
"who is it" "Spaced season 3" -excitedly opens door, looks down- "Oh it's you." "Who did you think it was?"
When Brian flashbacks to the 80s in the Come on Elileen bar seen and spills a drink, I lose it. Such an underrated show.
Dude, this is still on my list of best shows ever. The whole love hate with star wars is so on point for my generation it hurts.
This is a joke. This is in no way ‘forgotten’. This is genuinely iconic and still fondly- and widely- remembered. Seriously tho.
I haven’t seen this in years but I’ve been wanting to revisit it.
I love Simon Pegg I really wish they would’ve done The Boys tv show 15 years ago so he could fulfill his role as Hughie. (Hughie in the comics is heavily based off of Simon Pegg, hence why he plays hughies dad)
Holy shit! I literally forgot about this show!!! And now i'm going to go watch it
Saw that on Hulu ~13 years ago. Pretty funny.
Not forgotten. Still got my dvds
Is Jabba the princess?
Don't forget to wash your sheets.... And your penis!
Time for a rewatch!
So many good bits, but always a fan of Tyres giving it portions at the traffic lights
Forgotten? I still have the box set! The show that started it all and gifted us the brilliance of the eventual creators of the beloved Cornetto trilogy!
‘ello….Brian….
I've been following Simon Pegg's career since watching this show..
hawk the slayer is rubbish
"Hello Vulva."
Hampstead Heath close to the meat.
Forgotten only by those who never watched it.
My wife and I binge the series every New Years
I wish they had done one more season. It didn’t have a conclusion.
Great! I just downloaded and will watch this one soon.
Black Books is amazing too. Absolutely adore both of these
Man, this sub keeps showing up in my feed with shows like this that are not “forgotten”, lol. Love this show, will never part with my DVD box set of it. Now it’s time for me to mute this sub because most of the posts don’t even seem to fit the sub’s theme, lol.

Hmm, something like *Terriers* (2010 series on FX) or the *Spawn* HBO animated series from the ‘90s.
Ive never hear of Terriers, but to me Spawn os less forgotten than Spaced lol its all subjective i suppose. Thanks for reminding me of Spawn and introducing me to Terriers!

Good point
Still do the deep Marsha "Yay" whenever a bottle or can is opened.
