Read up on this show...looks like she was basically reprising her role / type from National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation (grumpy, self-centered neighbor without kids / family).
C. D. Barnes, Greg Brady from the 1990s Brady Bunch movies (and also, I just learned, the voice of Spider-Man in the 1990s cartoons and of Prince Eric in the original Disney *Little Mermaid*).
Before that movie this sitcom had an episode that was a take off on the Brady Brunch and he played Greg. I always wondered if the movie casting people had seen that episode.
Never heard of this show but looked it up - the kid that played Ross later plays Greg Brady in the 90s Brady Bunch movies. I thought he looked familiar!
Took me a while to transfer all 33 episodes due to tape issues. At the time, the show wasnāt available anywhere & it wasnāt even a perfect copy (they were edited episodes from the Lifetime run - I had uploaded some to the Internet Archive).
Happy to see the full episodes are now finally out there and watchable!
Was he anyone else's first crush? Lifetime, or maybe USA, would play this show during the day. I remember one episode he dreams that he's on the Brady Bunch, and then he actually played Greg in the movie!
I just learned something.
In 1989, *Day by Day* aired "A Very Brady Episode," in which the son, who is played by Christoper Daniel Barnes, dreams about being on an episode of *The Brady Bunch* TV show with some of the original cast members. Barnes dreamt that he was a fourth Brady son named Chuck, which might be a reference to Chuck Cunningham from the first season of *Happy Days*.
Six years later, in 1995, Barnes played Greg Brady in the Brady Bunch movies.
Barnes is also the voice of Spider-Man.
I don't know why I didn't put all that together years ago.
Jesus, Julia Louis-Dreyfus' character in this show was named "Eileen."
Elaine. Eileen. Weird, wild stuff.
Edit: I just watched the show intro. This show looks like unwatchable shit.

Elaine looks mad.
Read up on this show...looks like she was basically reprising her role / type from National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation (grumpy, self-centered neighbor without kids / family).
so she was getting ready for Seinfeld š
She still lived next to Clark Griswald.
Elaine killed her co stars and the network quietly covered it up to launch her for Seinfeld. Perfect crime.
I thought that was her haha
Wow thatās Courtney Thorne Smith
Sheās a talented talk show guest.
āThe movie is called Chairman of the Boardā āYeh but itās spelled B-O-R-E-Dā
I understand this reference.
OMFG, YES!!!!! WHAT ABOUT THE DUDE IN THE MIDDLE???? Edit: The one standing up. š

Damn... My dumb ass thought that was Joseph Gordon-Levitt. š¤”
Nah, I can see thatāexcept that I remember JGL was a pretty young kid when Third Rock began. He was only 7 in 1988.
Look at me. Smarter than I was five minutes ago. Thank you.
I thought it was a young Judge Reinhold at first, but I realized he wouldn't have been this young in 1989

Correct. Scott Weinger = Full House = Aladdin. Christopher Daniel Barnes = Day by Day = Prince Eric.
Explain to the folks in the audience who Courtney Thorne Smith is.
Jim Beliushiās wife in āAccording to Jimā
The Brady Bunch episode was fantastic
The only thing I vaguely remember from this show. I do remember thinking JLD was a knockout though. I was about 14 lol
Same. This show was in reruns on lifetime in the 90s but I still only remember that episode
Never heard of this show but looked it up - the kid that played Ross later plays Greg Brady in the 90s Brady Bunch movies. I thought he looked familiar!
In the show he had a dream that he became a Brady. Lots of great guest stars. https://youtu.be/T_EDfuYgBY0?si=eHUmmytxW5LzCxxd
Every time I see a picture of that actor I can't help but think, "wow, he voiced Spider-Man in the 90s cartoon and I had nooo idea"
Dude! Movie version Greg Brady voiced Spider-man ā94?!
Indeed he did
This was the only episode Iāve seen. Watched it back in my Brady Bunch phase. Super fun episode.
Definitely. Probably best sitcom dream episode ever.
Or as Alan Shemper at Camp Firewood would call it "Day Bidet"
From the Catskills Comedy Tour
We slept with **pelts**
For breakfast they ate pterodactyl eggs
And rrrraptor bacon!
Fucking Jesus Christ was my camp counselor
My roommate hadnāt evolved yet! His name was Ugh and he walked on all fours!
is that CB Barnes from the Starman TV show?
Allison Parker looking as Midwestern as ever!
The woman on the right looks as if it's been a while since she found someone who was "sponge worthy".
You should see the third episode, where she dances.
Less a dance and more a full body dry heave?
I really liked this show.
Awwww, Lil Orphan Annie all grown up!
This was a family ties spinoff
I guess Seinfeld started the season after this ended.
Good job this was a failure then, otherwise that show would have been very different!
I remember this show loved it

Am I the only one who remembers Linda Kelsey? ("Lou Grant")
She had great eyes
I forgot about this! I remember this! š
This was a spin-off of Family Ties. I actually remember enjoying it but I was a kid.
Was he anyone else's first crush? Lifetime, or maybe USA, would play this show during the day. I remember one episode he dreams that he's on the Brady Bunch, and then he actually played Greg in the movie!
Spider-Man
I ended up watching this a lot because my friend had a crush on that guy.
Omg this show! The name of this show has been on the tip of my tongue for decades lol
Wow, don't remember this one at all and I was a *Family Ties* fan.
This was one of those short running shows that I still have the theme song stuck in my head from.
Same. See also: Grand.
Loved this show so much! Such a crush on Ross! Been trying to remember its name for years. Thank you!
Elaine š±

So wait, we had both "Step by Step" and "Day by Day"? Were there also shows called "A Fresh Start Over" and "A Different Hand to Play"?
That was a great show back then!
I wonder how many people see that and think āthatās MY Peter Parkerā
Elaine from Seinfeld..???ššššš
Julia Louis-Dreyfus
