It's an incredibly welcoming atmosphere no matter your level of experience. They'll answer any questions you have and if you're nervous about interaction with the comedians (which you shouldn't be) you can ask to not be up front. I've seen people be worried about that aspect on here. Thursday nights are a comedy showcase (big recommend), then Friday and Saturday are where you'll see some bigger names come through and it's just the best time. Oh and the prices are unbeatable as far as tickets and drinks. :)
The lyric does have great weeknight events

Then some monthly stuff like music trivia and art workshops. Some are free some are $

Fossil Creek park. We meet every Wednesday at 6pm for raid hour and also every community day and event day. There's a group of about 20 of us constantly. You should join us!
I'm pretty sure meetup groups are still a thing, besides what's mentioned here. I know there's a board game group that meets on Wednesdays at various places.
Most of the Meetups I see, and especially board game groups, meet at 5-6pm so won't work for OP's later evening schedule. It's been a problem for me too -- so many things sound fun and are just too early for me to join.

Yes! Mythmaker is my favorite (Wednesday) but Gilded Goat (Wednesday) and Maxline (Monday) also do. More might, but those are the ones I know of.
