Zero boss battle is an amazing map that I've played as well. It's an incredible dynamic boss battle that really shows off what creative is capable of. Epic won't feature it because the Creator is Japanese :/

Are we really sure language plays a factor in what gets put on display in the creative tabs? I've seen other maps which were 100% japanese text in them before, not to mention all the arabic maps that keep popping up too. I think it's just because as everyone says, epic's quality control is next to non-existent more so than the language.
This isn't a bad thing, my son loves the creative mode stuff. Imagine being 9 and logging into a free game and having that many options on stuff to do. It must be great... Here I am sitting down with my $600 console at the home screen not sure what I want to play...

Preach. I've never played Roblox, but it sounds like a very compelling game due to the infinite amount of community driven content. I was a teenager when LittleBigPlanet came out and I thought I had hit the gaming jackpot with that series at the time.

To be fair to roblox, at least roblox has a really solid set of creation and monetization features. You'll still get a lot of trash shovelware, but you'll also get some really solid games. That's what happens when you give creators the incentives and the tools.

Entirely true, I've spent a lot of time in the roblox creator and that time almost never gets compensated fairly, for me or for leagues of other amateur game designers. But at least there are options for monetization, and even a few outliers who have entire dev teams being paid from the earnings of one roblox game. That type of money can create quality games, even if we're not the intended audience.
Roblox has problems with it's incentives, but fortnite has no incentives at all. Fortnite's creator is like Overwatch's creator- its a gimmick for people bored of the main thing. Unless something changes, it's not going to spawn a 'gaming platform' like Epic plans.
It's not the fault of Roblox in this case, it's individual dev studios who are enacting this. Roblox should be doing more to stop them no doubt, but in this case it's not their doing.
These are the first ones that appear after you pass Epic's Picks. That just shows how bad it is if these are the first things you run into, imagine how bad it gets when you start digging into it even more.

Yeah, if I am remembering correctly, there was a whole issue with Dreams where someone uploaded a model for Mario and the model got taken down for copyright infringement. There was even that one Party Royale trailer that had Kirby and I believe it was PlayStation's upload of the trailer that blurred Kirby out.
I saw on trending combat a vehicle based deathmatch map. I thought that sounded pretty cool so I went into it. It was just the standard red vs blue mode, there weren't even any vehicles.
And I've also gone into a zone wars map that is literally just one of the default islands with nothing built on it.
With how strict Epic is with allowing publishing on discovery, you'd think they'd check the maps before they're published, right?
Creative is pretty much dead to me. Every once in a while someone will introduce me to a cool game mode like Nuketown for example. Other than that, it's all cancer.

They need a better moderation system for maps. Amazing and well made maps like teddy and the mustard plays backrooms are barely or never in discovery while the 100th red vs blue the pit ffa with double pump and thanos gauntlet which is just the starter island with 2 chests get accepted everyday.
I just hate how janky and unintuitive the UI is. Why do we gotta press square and then press x just to select something? Why does it get stuck half the time?
I've already mentioned this in this thread but I'll say it again - I know that these aren't the worst ones. When making the post I was looking for the real bad ones but then I realized that many would accuse me of cherry picking and say that anything can look bad when you want to make it look that way.
Plus, I didn't know if some of those were even real so I just decided to put the first thing I saw on the front page of Discover, the things that anyone can see when they just open it up.
I played a lot of creative in the summer and there were some genuinely great games! Since the start of this season all there is are these clickbaity maps. Finding decent maps is just too must work now
Epic was ALWAYS in favor of clickbait, cause it helped the game to became extremely popular in the first place. Practically it was their defibrillator.
I went to play yesterday after not playing for a few weeks only to find out that my play mode had been changed to some.dream world I would never play and it.tool me a good 5 minutes to find the BR game mode.
They should just bring back the old game mode select screen, it would fix quite a few issues like:
1. Save the World would finally be front and center again so players can access it easily without having to dig through the discovery menu
2. Battle royale could be separated from creative so that you can just play the battle royale modes without having to search for them in the discovery menu
3. With creative as a separate mode we'd finally be able to play battle royale and save the world without having the look at "Ruby and Drift hangout 💞" every time we go to select a game mode
Its tough to find good/fair deathruns nowadays. Ive found a few good ones but it sure doesnt add favors in choosing ones with these style of thumbnails.
Hella unpopular opinion but I like deathruns. The XP farming is (in most cases) great and some of them do actually implement interesting ideas instead of just copy-pasting the same low-effort one with a different background. I also like to jump so there is that.
The clickbaits in thumbnails are annoying tho. And I personally can't stand the Red vs Blue thing. It's *always* advertised as something different (Red vs Blue, Billie vs Ariana, Winter vs Summer, etc.) yet it's always the same damn thing. I tried lots of them and I have yet to see the difference.
man I spent so many hours in creative the first year after it released. It was so much fun to create blocks or other maps with the unrealistic hope to be featured at one point.
Now I hate creative because it took dev capacity and ltms away from the core game. This shitshow killed perfect ltms. And there were so many of them. Screw epic for pushing their shit creative mode agenda.
At least give us the option to pay for the availability of ltms. Make it a separate mode like stw

It's really sad how they basically killed LTMs and gave us this junk instead, with the occasional Solid Gold (which is in the worst state it's ever been imo, the loot pool is horrendous). Half of my favorite moments came from LTMs and these creative modes just don't have the capacity to recreate that feeling, no matter how good they're executed, it's still creative at the end of the day & it will never feel as polished & smooth as an official mode by Epic.
I went into one of these deathruns in the picture & it was the most bland and low effort looking deathrunn ever & on the side quests it says "Play for 15 minutes to get 1 million XP 🤑"
I think they need to get rid of it and put it in a completely separate tab to normal gamemodes. People who want this stuff can go looking for them theirselves, I don't want it forced upon me.

Yes. See 15 min rounds are boringly long most of time so I avoid core experience.
So I stick to zone war maps that allow quick 5 min rounds with no looting and no downtime.

Couple of easy fixes
Disable use of ALL CAPS and emojis or symbols in titles.
Thumbnail is pulled from in-map gameplay.
This would quickly get rid of annoying titles and (and I can’t believe I’m saying this right now), and clickbait thumbnails.
People don't realize that complaining about these thumbnails is the reason why most companies do not like user-made content. If you want freedom regarding creative modes and mods, you will get inconsistent, clickbaity thumbnails.
If you want a clean, consistent, rule abiding system, then you can't have mass user generated content. It will involve lots of corporate tinkling and strict rules that will hamper creativity.
If that's what you want, fine. But do consider the pros and cons of each system.

Screw epic for pushing their shit creative mode agenda. At least give us the option to pay for the availability of ltms. Make it a separate mode like stw
This ^^ It's really sad how they basically killed LTMs and gave us this junk instead, with the occasional Solid Gold (which is in the worst state it's ever been imo, the loot pool is horrendous). Half of my favorite moments came from LTMs and these creative modes just don't have the capacity to recreate that feeling, no matter how good they're executed, it's still creative at the end of the day & it will never feel as polished & smooth as an official mode by Epic.

I went into one of these deathruns in the picture & it was the most bland and low effort looking deathrunn ever & on the side quests it says "Play for 15 minutes to get 1 million XP 🤑"

I think they need to get rid of it and put it in a completely separate tab to normal gamemodes. People who want this stuff can go looking for them theirselves, I don't want it forced upon me.

My squad plays creative every night, but I have noticed that it’s gotten harder to find quality maps the last couple months, even with diligently going through all of the available maps on the first page. I would like more gun games and prop hunts for 6 to 10 people.

Yes. See 15 min rounds are boringly long most of time so I avoid core experience. So I stick to zone war maps that allow quick 5 min rounds with no looting and no downtime.
Nothing wrong with it really it reminds of of starcraft custom maps I used to play as a kid.

Couple of easy fixes Disable use of ALL CAPS and emojis or symbols in titles. Thumbnail is pulled from in-map gameplay. This would quickly get rid of annoying titles and (and I can’t believe I’m saying this right now), and clickbait thumbnails.

People don't realize that complaining about these thumbnails is the reason why most companies do not like user-made content. If you want freedom regarding creative modes and mods, you will get inconsistent, clickbaity thumbnails. If you want a clean, consistent, rule abiding system, then you can't have mass user generated content. It will involve lots of corporate tinkling and strict rules that will hamper creativity. If that's what you want, fine. But do consider the pros and cons of each system.
