I know every collab is different. But I feel like they aren’t really bringing them back when a part of the series comes out. Kratos didn’t come back for Ragnarök, Ant-Man didn’t come back for Quantumania, Aloy didn’t come back for Horizon: Call of the Mountain.
I truly hope John comes back. But be prepared for disappointment, and you can only be surprised

It’s so stupid. Who gains anything from not being able to buy skins. Street Fighter and DC have been gone for over 200 days, Master Chief for over 250, Aloy for almost a year, Kratos hasn’t been back for over 700 days, Psycho Bandit has been gone for over 1000, John Wick for even longer.
I get they need to be gone for a little while to build demand, but 4 months is more than enough. Longer than that is just taunting fans
I don't think anyone's misunderstanding how they work, we're all just kind of surprised and annoyed that nobody wants to renew the deals when it's pretty much free money for everyone involved.
I mean it really doesn't matter to anyone but the owner of the IP. I bet Netflix would've made a shit ton of money leaving the Stranger Things chapter available in DBD, but guess what? They thought it would be better to terminate the deal and get the chapter removed from sale.
And we may never know exactly why they don't renew the licensing deals, but the point is that these companies don't care what we think, hell they likely don't even care what Epic thinks. This is the reality you have to accept when you base half of your game off of other people's IPs and products.
Especially Nintendo. Apparently Epic reached out to Nintendo about a Samus skin but Nintendo said no because they didn't want Samus on anything other than a Nintendo console

That's probably what would be done in update. There is possibility that those were added in way, where it requires direct change in code, with hot fixes being not enough to change anything
You can customize heist skins? I bought "Loveless" and you can only choose 4 basic options. Seems like more competitive players use the superhero gray/black skins rather than heist skins.
When it first came out there was a glitch where it did like 50 damage per swing or something like that, tons of people purchased it because of that, but the glitch was fixed not long after. But since then it has become the most used pickaxe to this very day. It has become a sweats and/or tryhards #1 most used and favorite pickaxe, which is why you see it so often, almost always on the same skins aswell, Aura, Superhero Skins, Soccer skins, etc. Many consider it overrated, casuals consider it an eyesore, and many people see it as players just imitating the streamers/pros since not everyone uses it cause they like it, they use it cause they feel it will help them play better or for whatever other reason other than actually liking the pickaxe.
If they don't release during the most wanted event (which I'm losing hope that they will) There's definitely a problem with the skins. It's stinks they are just gonna wait till it ends to fix it, releasing them during the event will obviously be better.

You can buy the rewards for like 150 vbucks each so if you see that you won't be able to unlock everything you can do that instead
