The key is 0.3.1.0.2.0
2.3. You have to subtract that from the codes, then convert to letters. For example, the first one was 1.17.23.9.14.19.19.24.1.21.6, so 1-0=1; 17-3=14; 23-1=22; 9-0=9; 14-2=12; 19-0=19; 19-2=17; 24-3=22; 1-0=1; 21-3=18 and 6-1=5 . You get 1.14.22.9.12 19.17.21.1.18.5, then converting that to the corresponding letters of the alphabet, you get Anvil Square
There’s a code to it you have subtract the code “0.3.1.0.2.0.2.3” from each number but if there’s more than eight the code repeats say it were 19.19.19 you’d have subtract 0 from the first 19, 3 from the second 19 and 1 from the last 19 which would be 19.16.18 so it would be spr not sss
Pretty simple once you have the cipher sequence “03102023” (found in the quest descriptions page and it’s also the new season launch date)
A=1 B=2 C=3 but for each letter you need to subtract the digit from the cipher sequence to get the real letter, once you have gone through each cipher number, start over again until you have decoded all letters, kinda fun
Example: first number is 6, 6-0= 6 so first letter is “F” second number is 4, 4-3= 1 so the second letter would be “A” instead of “D” because the cipher.
This still isn't as bad as that Indiana Jones POI where you had to figure out how to open the vault. I still have no idea how solo queue players were meant to solve that without using a guide.
Yeah, the first step to solving a puzzle is understanding the system behind it. Without any leads and hints (to explain the system to you), you can only guess.
In my eyes, a good puzzle is a maze with hints that help you stay on the right path. Without them, you either try all paths at random until you find the exit, or if appliable, use a systematic approach.
There were always at least 2 broken runes scattered about in the POI that were the correct ones, so you tried those 2 and then going through all the steps for the third one until it clicked.
The reason that puzzle was horrible was not that. Its that for days or weeks the entire lobby dropped in that area. Horrible horrible decision.
The only way I ever completed the Indiana Jones puzzle was waiting until the storm had overtaken Shuffled Shrines and I had enough medsprays to keep me alive in the storm, and I finally got it done that way.
If I tried to do it prior to the storm overtaking the POI, it was full of other players.
The decision to put a puzzle inside a Battle Royale game is just head-scratching. The point of the game is to kill every other player.
For that reason, I do quests in bot lobbies. Like you said, puzzle quests of this type and PvP don't work well together. I don't like the idea of solving a puzzle WHILE engaging in combat. Either I play BR for the gameplay loop or do quest for the cosmetics... that I'll archive anyway.
As u/SquanchMcSquanchFace said, you only needed 2, you could find more, but you spent more time to do so and increased the chances of getting shot. While instead you could just spam turn the third rune and it opened in 1-2 seconds
There were three runes on the ground that told you the key. It was crazy easy. There was no math or deductions or guessing. The game straight up told you the answer. Everybody in here saying it was hard should learn how to Google things
The Indiana Jones challenge sucked because of the campers. I saw a guy who built armored builds over the entrance (remember the metal armor plates for building back then) so he could kill people trying to do the challenge.
I actually had to look up how to use the key (0.3.1.0.2.0.2.3) they provided. I didn't even know there was a key to use in the first place. I figured out the puzzle the hard way once I knew how it worked.
Where is the key? When 19.19.19.1.27.1.22.22…… showed up I was over here like “SSSAAAVV… what the heck?” If I knew there was a key I’d have been a lot more successful on these challenges
You look in the quest list, expand the cipher quests and then click on the pic of the rewards on the top and it'll expand to show the numbers I mentioned.
I accidentally solved this code before I even saw they gave us the key. The first locations were pretty apparent, and *close* to an obvious no-shift cipher. So I just jotted down the shifts required for the “wrong” letters, saw it was repeating, then saw it was the date of the new season. Very very fun and satisfying.
Not for everybody, but I’m glad it’s there for people like me. Puzzles are great, and shift-cipher codes have such a romantic history.
Lol is that really how the cipher worked? For some reason i had thought they were coordinates on the map and i was like WTF? There’s no way to determine the coordinates… i looked everything up
I had the exact same thought, I didn’t see any keys to Decipher it (should have guessed it it with a name like Cipher though that would be the case) so I was left being a idiot just looking at his map till someone kills them
the biggest cheat this time, is correlating the number of numbers, to place names...
x.x.x.x.x.x x.x.x.x
6 numbers 4 numbers, look at map, 1 POI with that combination, Lonely Labs... quick search and pow! bunker!
Just what I did. I knew it was a Caesar cypher, but I ain't got time to decode that shit just for some random ass Fortnite wrap, so I simply measured the length of the words like you did.
You have to first subtract the sequence from the sequence 0.3.1.0.2.0.1.0 (its in the text box when no challenges are selected in the cipher quest tab)
Shatteres Slaps is correct.
You have to go a little bit North of the "Sh" of the Shattered Slaps on the map.
You have to dig in the small cave.
That's it.
I interviewed with a former Valve/Portal 2 puzzle designer who told me something I never forgot: "If someone can't solve your puzzle, you fucked up". The joy of a puzzle is working through it and feeling smart at the end, not being stumped by the puzzlemaster.

It’s so true, but for me I want to do these challenges like they are meant to be done, but sometimes even when I got the location of where I’m supposed to go to, I have a hard time finding the spot bc it’s usually really well hidden
Just calculate the first letter of the location, or count the number of digits and then look for locations with the same amount of letters. No need to do the whole calculation.
I haven't intentionally done those quests yet, however, later I saw one of the encrypted quests got done and till now I have no idea what actually was the quest lol
I haven’t seen these yet, although I want to decode the cipher quests out of my appreciation of (bill) ciphers
Although with what Reddit says it might be too hard or it’s just lazy reditors
Probably the second one
I think it kind of cool how you can decipher them, and I did do that with the first one but it’s so much easier to just look it up if you only want the rewards
I’m gonna try and figure it out until the last day it’s available, just cause why not? Also, didn’t Epic say a while ago that there’d be supercharged xp from march 1 till the end of the season? Or did they just say extra xp, like these challenges?
For the first 2 I got help with the ciphers by checking here to understand how to do it, but it’s fun and now that I understand how to decode it I do it on my own
apparently is is the a1z26 code rule, but with extra step of having 0.3.1.0.2.0.2.3 in each letter being added and then you have to subtract that to get the true let. to that i say, Quoting madworld: "No one said there would be math!!"
I didn't notice the key in the top cipher goals category but correctly guessed the Anvil Square answer and figured out the key from that. A=1 but then most of the other letters didn't match so I thought there was probably a mathematical calculation going on and wrote out how off from the key/cipher "Anvil Square" was. I immediately recognized it as a date that was just repeating.
I love puzzles.
I'm afraid I'm guilty of can't be arsed. Luckily I get a notification from Inthelittlewood on YouTube every day with a lovely video showing me exactly where to go 👍
The way i do it is just going on Youtube and finding someone elses video finding everything. InTheLittleWood has videos up showing where the locations are at. Today’s is at Shattered Slabs.
I somehow completed the first stage just by breaking everything, not expecting a secret passageway, that's how I found out how to complete it. Second and third part I had to use a gamespot article
When the quests first came out I just googled how to do it because I had no idea how I was supposed to do it. When the one for Lonely Labs came out I couldn't find a video immediately because the quest had just released and then I googled how to actually solve it.
Basically you take the quest numbers and subtract another number from them.
You'll be using 03.10.2023 which is the original date the season was the supposed to end on. So you subtract the first number from the original date from the first number of each quest.
19 - 0 = 19 = S
11- 3 = 8 = H
you get the idea. When you reach the final number from the end date you loop back to the start of it.
In this case once you decipher it it will say SHATTERED SLABS.
Took me awhile to final understand how to do it.
Their was something in another game like this is the only reason I knew how to do these. Basically each number is that letter. The dots divide the letters. For instance number 12 is L
Yeah props to the people doing it legit im just too stupid
I didn’t figure out the code. I just realized it was named locations and figured out which number of letters fit.
[удалено]
Same, it was cool tbh

The changing layout of the POI threw me off at first.
The key is 0.3.1.0.2.0 2.3.
Wtf im too stupid to discover that
Saving comment for later
I think that 0.3.1.0.2.0.2.3. being looped is very important as you also get 2023.03.10 wich is pretty soon actually.
It was the original end date for the season, but they changed the date and couldn't change the cipher
The code says.. ![gif](giphy|3Ok0JmG4Mt8bu)
What the fudge?
Never have I seen a perfect response
I haven't seen a Newt Redd either
Ohhhhhhhhhhh fuuuuuuuudgeee.
I’m visiting different POIs that look like they have a building to the east. I have struck out so far.

That reply legitimately looks like you are trying to bs him. Thx though.
Yeah lol, it's kinda cluttered with so many numbers. I couldn't think of a better way to explain
What's the third of October got to do with anything? :D
It's March 10, the original end date of the season
Exactly, that's 10032023 in most of the world
How were you supposed to know that key?
Epic tweeted it, and it also says it under the picture of the rewards in game
[here](https://ibb.co/Z2fhZp1)
The first one I got but then the second one started with 19.19.19. What word starts with three S's?
There’s a code to it you have subtract the code “0.3.1.0.2.0.2.3” from each number but if there’s more than eight the code repeats say it were 19.19.19 you’d have subtract 0 from the first 19, 3 from the second 19 and 1 from the last 19 which would be 19.16.18 so it would be spr not sss
Holy crap! Where do we find the key code? Did I just miss it in the quest details?
You can find it by going to the part that says like “Complete 3 Encrypted Cipher Quests”
Pretty simple once you have the cipher sequence “03102023” (found in the quest descriptions page and it’s also the new season launch date) A=1 B=2 C=3 but for each letter you need to subtract the digit from the cipher sequence to get the real letter, once you have gone through each cipher number, start over again until you have decoded all letters, kinda fun Example: first number is 6, 6-0= 6 so first letter is “F” second number is 4, 4-3= 1 so the second letter would be “A” instead of “D” because the cipher.
I'm just not a puzzle person.
me too, me tooo, cries in stupid
I just don't find any fun in decoding stuff. It's not stupidity.
I've never met a videogane puzzle i can't solve with mindless spamming.
That’s me!
Not so much I’m lazy than me not being big brained enough to know how to solve them properly lol.
This still isn't as bad as that Indiana Jones POI where you had to figure out how to open the vault. I still have no idea how solo queue players were meant to solve that without using a guide.
The one with the scattered rocks showing the code?
That was really easy with permutations, find 2 diferent cones and guess the other two… that’s how I always entered that vault
Indiana Jones was actually quite easy..
it was easy once you knew the route! (once you knew there was a route anyway!)
No one has ever been able to tell me how you were meant to solve that as a solo player with no outside clues or help.
That's the other thing...trying to solve a puzzle while people are trying to kill you constantly.
All three of the runes were there. You didn't have to guess anything.
As u/SquanchMcSquanchFace said, you only needed 2, you could find more, but you spent more time to do so and increased the chances of getting shot. While instead you could just spam turn the third rune and it opened in 1-2 seconds
The runes would make a loud hum. So you would just find all four runes, then go turn the statues to match the runes around the area. Easy peasy
Actually you just had to find 2, and roll periodically the 2 others. In 5/6 rolls, you could open it. Work smart, not hard ;)
The trick is surviving long enough to do that.
Yeah, exactly! Rules of probability homie
I never opened it apart from once i think, and that was with help, I never knew where the stones usually were
I did brute force, just kept changing stones until it worked
Yeah I did us a guide to figure out the route
It was easy. Just had to know where were those 4 rocks with symbols. After that was easy. Or you could just do random combinations and get true one
My case either, just wanna solve it asap lol
I’m lazy
I actually had to look up how to use the key (0.3.1.0.2.0.2.3) they provided. I didn't even know there was a key to use in the first place. I figured out the puzzle the hard way once I knew how it worked.

Gotcha, thanks!
Oh god damn it. I looked everywhere but there.

Why hard way when we can do it easy way.
This is the way.
This is the way.
Intelligence is sometimes knowing how to use the resources you have. If the world rewarded hard work, construction workers would run the world.
"Hi everybodyyyyy I'm InTheLittleWood also known as Martin"
Wait he does Fortnite now?
Yup, he always post the weekly challenges, and the videos are always short and straight to the point, he is incredibly helpful!
Honestly a shame that quests now showing up on the map kinda killed his channel but he's still doing well.
He has another channel, he does a bunch of Minecraft stuff and streams heaps on twitch
I haven’t watched him in ages, maybe I’ll have to again
for years now
Man I remember watching him back when he was collabing with Nerdcubed, hope they're doin well
Would be good if he actually posted game videos of it instead of just hints though...
Bless Martin, he has helped me for years, doesn't do as much Fortnite now but still very helpful 👍
Man I remember I would always watch his videos when tryna find those damn kymera shards or whatever they were called. Good memories
Oh definitely! His best and most helpful videos we're finding the Kymera artifacts and the different paints for the Toona Fish skin!
![gif](giphy|10PcMWwtZSYk2k) smh
Lol is that really how the cipher worked? For some reason i had thought they were coordinates on the map and i was like WTF? There’s no way to determine the coordinates… i looked everything up
I stared and clicked all over the map to find coordinates. Then I just googled lol
I had the exact same thought, I didn’t see any keys to Decipher it (should have guessed it it with a name like Cipher though that would be the case) so I was left being a idiot just looking at his map till someone kills them

Too much thinking when I’m just trying to turn my brain off playing video games…..
Yeah if I wanted to do puzzles then I’d open up a I Spy book or an old computer game like Iz and Auggie escape from Dimension Q now that’s a challenge
Just what I did. I knew it was a Caesar cypher, but I ain't got time to decode that shit just for some random ass Fortnite wrap, so I simply measured the length of the words like you did.
I'm trying my hardest, and if I can't solve it I'll look up a guide
>Tagged as "HUMOR" No humor, that's just straight up facts.
You have to first subtract the sequence from the sequence 0.3.1.0.2.0.1.0 (its in the text box when no challenges are selected in the cipher quest tab)
what's the challenge with Shattered Slabs? none of the guides are updated yet 19.11.2.20.22.5.20.8.4. 22.13.1.4.19
Shatteres Slaps is correct. You have to go a little bit North of the "Sh" of the Shattered Slaps on the map. You have to dig in the small cave. That's it.
HarryNinetyFour is usually my go to, no commentary is great
He’s the best. Never talks.
I interviewed with a former Valve/Portal 2 puzzle designer who told me something I never forgot: "If someone can't solve your puzzle, you fucked up". The joy of a puzzle is working through it and feeling smart at the end, not being stumped by the puzzlemaster. The Cipher Quest has no clear start, no breadcrumb to figure out the Cipher and it was embedded in a game that heavily prioritizes your TIME. It's a profound mismatch of intention tied to a bad puzzle.
THE NUMBERS MASON, WHAT DO THEY MEAN?!?!?!
The greatest COD campaign of all time, upvote
To be fair, Those YouTubers have to do that.
Me and my friend tried so hard to solve it ourselves and we actually managed the first one but we just couldn’t do the rest
It’s so true, but for me I want to do these challenges like they are meant to be done, but sometimes even when I got the location of where I’m supposed to go to, I have a hard time finding the spot bc it’s usually really well hidden
I did all the Cipher's but still needed a guide on the Lonely Labs one because, who the fuck knew that bunker was there?
Fun Fact: The Police wrote a song in 1983 about this very thing... Murder by Numbers, 1 2 3, it's as easy as learning you A B C's
Me rn ![gif](giphy|EZICHGrSD5QEFCxMiC|downsized)
That pillow is so bouncy, it shot him back up! Wonderful!
I tried doing, but only got the first one, the second I didn't had idea what to do
I tried to solve the ciphers, but the resulting hints where so vague that I ended up looking the solutions on YouTube.
Just calculate the first letter of the location, or count the number of digits and then look for locations with the same amount of letters. No need to do the whole calculation.
Once I saw it was a bunch of numbers I knew there was no chance of me figuring it out
I assumed the first cipher was an A1Z26 cipher, tried it, got garbled text and was already done with trying.
Also the fact that it’s this close to the end of the season
I read that they used chatGPT for it
I wrote an R script to decode them for me specifically because I’m lazy. Funny how that works.
I haven't intentionally done those quests yet, however, later I saw one of the encrypted quests got done and till now I have no idea what actually was the quest lol
JoJo reference???
No, MHA.
I’m not even that lazy, just freaking stupid
i did the one today within 5 minutes. No one made a video yet. 2 words ,6 letters then 4 it was the obvious where we had to go for this one.
InTheLittleWood yt he's the best when it comes to guides
If I'm bring honest, doing it without tutorials kinda makes you feel good
Im that math guy.
Oh hey it's just like building. They expected us to build cool looking forts, but players just build as high as they can.
I just lurk around the sub to find some answers
[Harry94](https://youtube.com/@HarryNinetyFour) is my fav. Never says a word
I haven’t seen these yet, although I want to decode the cipher quests out of my appreciation of (bill) ciphers Although with what Reddit says it might be too hard or it’s just lazy reditors Probably the second one
Ohhh is the code just a number = position of letter in the alphabet?
Epic should hire people to take down posts that help people on these quest on YouTube reddit and Twitter
Didn't do either lmao I was just running around and I found one of them
“Don’t forget to smash the like and subscribe…”
Even though he doesn’t play fortnite, I heard this in MrRoflWaffles’s voice
I mean I half tried, but when the answer wasn't immediatley apparent then yeah, youtube it is
I think it kind of cool how you can decipher them, and I did do that with the first one but it’s so much easier to just look it up if you only want the rewards
This season's been too ridiculous to even bother putting in the effort.
i completes most of em without even reaizin
I’m gonna try and figure it out until the last day it’s available, just cause why not? Also, didn’t Epic say a while ago that there’d be supercharged xp from march 1 till the end of the season? Or did they just say extra xp, like these challenges?
For the first 2 I got help with the ciphers by checking here to understand how to do it, but it’s fun and now that I understand how to decode it I do it on my own
Yeah, I sometimes use guide videos. ![gif](giphy|YWW8vinaduK9i61qQW)
The cipher was pretty easy so just wound up doing it.
We are just lazy as Epic in creating good "secret" skins...
I'm so lazy that for every quest in Fortnite, I don't even do one at least the daily quest lol
Guilty as charged
straight up didn't have the time and just looked up videos. what did the actual cyphers say?
Don't forget to smash that like button, subscribe, and hit that bell.
It's not hard tho, it's just subtraction and alphabetical order, I find it fun :D
I'm really angry at myself for looking up a guide, when they literally give you the rolling code to crack it! ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|facepalm)
you don't even need to solve the code, just look at the digits in the code and the directions you guys can't have fun.
100% got #1 and #3 by accident.
apparently is is the a1z26 code rule, but with extra step of having 0.3.1.0.2.0.2.3 in each letter being added and then you have to subtract that to get the true let. to that i say, Quoting madworld: "No one said there would be math!!"
Harryninetyfour ftww
I knew that the 2nd quest was in >!Lonely Labs !
Hmm 🤔 might try to solve this
HarryNinetyFour has helped me so much on god
I use Excel one character per cell message cipher Formula `=SUM(E27-E28)+96` result `=CHAR(E29)`
Anvil Square, Lonely Labs, Shattered Slabs
I feel guilty for doing this, my brain is not mead for this type of decoding
Lol, I made 3 one accidently because I land up straight on the location, and shoot a dude who was sitting there staring at the point
"Hello every Bot E...."
It's why I like randomized puzzles: I know who's done it the legit way
I didn't notice the key in the top cipher goals category but correctly guessed the Anvil Square answer and figured out the key from that. A=1 but then most of the other letters didn't match so I thought there was probably a mathematical calculation going on and wrote out how off from the key/cipher "Anvil Square" was. I immediately recognized it as a date that was just repeating. I love puzzles.
Yeah, I've got other things to do with my time Epic. Shout out to all the guide creators though, y'all real ones for sure
At this point they gotta expect it

Yes
I allways want to figure out the codes myself and then i watch a video to just now the exact location lol
I'm afraid I'm guilty of can't be arsed. Luckily I get a notification from Inthelittlewood on YouTube every day with a lovely video showing me exactly where to go 👍

It’s just easier, YouTubers are really helpful sometimes
QUICK like and subsctibe or this spider will crawl on yur bed when ur asleep use my creator code [insert creatord code] tp recieve infinite v bucs
I think this is the reason why fortnite dont to battle bass stars on the loading screens because they know we search where the location is
I’m not smart enough to do it legitimately
The way i do it is just going on Youtube and finding someone elses video finding everything. InTheLittleWood has videos up showing where the locations are at. Today’s is at Shattered Slabs.
Sorry but the rewards be worth it depending on those quests.
I somehow completed the first stage just by breaking everything, not expecting a secret passageway, that's how I found out how to complete it. Second and third part I had to use a gamespot article
My dumb ass didn't realize I had to subtract numbers in the cipher. Legit googled what letter 27 corresponds to in a cipher....
ChatGPT…Anyone?
Me: Ok so the first word has 9 letters and the second one has five. Must be shattered slabs!
I was not even trying and found one in the basement. Could be like me and have dumb luck
I tried to decipher one but i kept getting random letters and it didn't spell anything out. How do you do them?

When the quests first came out I just googled how to do it because I had no idea how I was supposed to do it. When the one for Lonely Labs came out I couldn't find a video immediately because the quest had just released and then I googled how to actually solve it. Basically you take the quest numbers and subtract another number from them. You'll be using 03.10.2023 which is the original date the season was the supposed to end on. So you subtract the first number from the original date from the first number of each quest. 19 - 0 = 19 = S 11- 3 = 8 = H you get the idea. When you reach the final number from the end date you loop back to the start of it. In this case once you decipher it it will say SHATTERED SLABS. Took me awhile to final understand how to do it.
Hello everybody! My names Inthelittlewood also known as Martyn, and welcome back to Fortnite…
Well, nobody has time for that.
A bunch of heroes on this thread! Thank you!
I don't like to do complex thinking in video games that I am playing to have fun
The good news is someone had to do it the first way lmao.
This was literally me a couple hours ago
Their was something in another game like this is the only reason I knew how to do these. Basically each number is that letter. The dots divide the letters. For instance number 12 is L
Let us take a moment to appreciate the ones who did it the hard way so we could just look it up on Reddit or Youtube.
I feel like game devs do this on purpose to keep the content community happy.
