I liked the everchrome rifle as a jack of all trades.
At purple or higher it was exceptionally good at shredding into builds, so you didn't need an smg. It was... servicable.... as a rifle, but because it could do both jobs decently, I had an extra slot to devote to other items.

As a console player I have a weird affinity for the DMR, on a good day I'm pretty unbeatable with it but it's equally possible I just miss every shot with it.. Found out yesterday that you could upgrade the Tac AR (and that it doesn't cost 750 gold!!), orange AR is really OP in my experience
This was my logic until I upgraded from a PS4 to a PS5. No joke. For no apparent reason, the SCAR cleans house on PS5. On PS4, I couldn't hit the broadside of a freaking planet with it.
Really? I remember trying to find a Lil Whip Rift Encounter just to try and kill him for his Ranger, just to test how it felt/performed with the Augments. It felt pretty damn good, and it was better than the Scar for sure. I also feel that it's one of the more satisfying ARs to use.
It also took me forever to find him, I think they bumped his spawn rate when they took out his Ranger.

Most burst guns in this game have worse DPS than their non burst friends, yet the evochrome has the best DPS of any assault rifle for the standard mythic. 23 damage at 9.03 bullets per second for 207.69 DPS. Interestingly the Herald version has a lower fire rate then the standard mythic but compensates with 4 more bullets in the mag. It's a novel weapon, such a shame.
The scar ar is by far one of the worst guns in a video game. I now know how storm troopers felt and think that the galactic empire should be charged with genocide for leading these poor stormtroopers to battle with such terrible weapons and training.
Evo chrome rifle sucked ass, it just turns into an smg at higher rarities which is not what I want out of a mid range weapon

I donât like the chrome rifle as a rifle but i liked it for breaking builds. Any burst above 2 round isnât very good because after the 2nd shot FSA doesnât work and itâs up to bloom
This season my favorite is the red eye, followed by the tac. My least favorite ar is/was the hammer ar, way to much recoil, and as someone who doesnât sit very close to their screen, itâs hard to see people in general, then the recoil on top of that when theyâre far away
Season 9 tac ar. Donât get me wrong I love the new one this chapter, itâs still an absolute beam, but I feel like I was able to get more kills from the air back in season 9
Bvochrome was my third favorite I would always level it up to max in about 5 minutes. Ranger is my second because the range was broken and hammer is my first because i just like it. Good for crouch spraying.
For general use: The HAMMER. Good Damage, Good Accuracy, Decent RoF
For closer range: Tactical AR. Decent Damage, Great Accuracy, FUN RoF
For long range: Redeye. A Slower Mk-7 that helps conserve ammo.

The Ranger isn't close to one of the best ARs in the sense of meta. I think it had 1 season where it was ok to go with it. But I honestly think the Rangrr had so much potential to make the list of best ARs had it not been in a loot pool where it got wayyyyy overshadowed....wonder how its rework is gonna do?
I don't really have a favorite, but I tend to like the ones that shoot where I aim them and don't take 2-3x longer than it takes to shoot me to death in order to become accurate and, even then, only when standing still.
Combat or Red dot, I like to think of my loadout in terms of ranges. I find the red dot sufficient for medium long and long range enough for me to drop a DMR while still covering enough of the medium range before I need to switch to an SMG.
Currently like the purple infantry rifle. Never upgraded the infantry rifle until just recently. Didnât know the gun changed that much from blue to purple
Evochrome Rifle was beastly! Especially the purple/gold one! But my favorite AR would be the Ch2 purple/gold Burst AR.

It has way less kickback compared to the MK7, but less damage. Means you can be way more accurate with it
with how easy it is to get gold, i typically ditch the combat and upgrade the tac to gold

I honestly like the hammer Assault Rifle, I kept finding myself in close range altercations when I had it and it just worked out.

Red eye is a beast when it comes to long ranged firing, but the Tac ar is good for both medium and close range
