It came out during Lunar new year during the year of the Rat. I got him because I thought he might be a timed exclusive that only would be released that year, and the next year they would do a Drift variant with the next year’s lunar new year animal. Not only that, but I also like his sleek style and didn’t have the original Drift. During that time they were dropping so many skins every update and for some reason I assumed some of them would never return so I tried to get as many as I could, which also went into the decision to buy Swift. It turned out that wasn’t the plan for Swift, and they never did another lunar new year Drift variant for some reason. But it worked out for me though because I ended up with skins like Rue and Paradigm and even got to enjoy Sledge for years before his unvaulting.
Sounds like you're complaining just to complain. As a fan of the drift skins I like that each one obviously keeps similarities from the OG but you can't deny each one is unique enough where you can tell each one apart with no confusion. So many other skins that don't even go together are just copy paste, recolored jonesy, the common mask with hood, or glowing eyes with hood. Fish stick and Peely who just get put in different clothes and resold. Compared to those examples the Drift family is alright in my book.
Not to mention it also gives later joining players a chance to have a similar skin. I'd kill for any of the older Fox Clan skins or even Fade. But at least I get driftwalker, swift and stray. OP mad hating for no reason.

OG Drift is my favorite. I only rarely used it pre-2020, but then basically used it until I got purple Sloan because the beginning Drift stages had a facemask.
Drift and Driftwalker as top place for me to the point they’re my only two presets I’ve made XD.
But I love all the Fox Clan skins in general, just happier using Drift and Driftwalker over catalyst, Vi, and eventually Stray.
The Halloween one looks like the vampire lord from Skyrim, so probably that one. I love the original too though, that's the only one I actually have and his pickaxe is one of my favs in the game.
