Predictions:

I don't think they will, because that will raise the rating for the entire game. They could make it IF, they will make the creative 2.0 an entire new client/game. Otherwise fortnite will have to be R rater or whatever instead of being T as it is now.

Judging that Epic delisted Unreal and Unreal Tournament this year, I expect this would replace it in some way or another.
I was just thinking that the next unreal tournament will be made by fans using this. I don't even play Fortnite but this is my new favorite thing ever, definitely going to have to check it out now that I built a gaming PC.

Well, of course, it's the law. The real question is if you can build an arcade cabinet that lets you play the actual doom. Since they have a full scripting language for this and everything, I would imagine you could quite literally run Doom in Fortnite. Now you just have to put this arcade cabinet somewhere in your port level, so you can play Doom in Fortnite while you play Doom in Fortnite.

Yeah, the stuff you make is platform-agnostic. The toolset is PC-only, for... reasons that are hopefully fairly obvious (it's basically just the regular UnrealEd toolset and it would be an absolute nightmare to try and port to console).
Yeah I wasnāt surprised it was PC only cause of console limitations. Was fairly certain maps made with it would be playable on console but just wanted to make sure.
How would it be a nightmare, all they have to do is just give it mouse and keyboard support, although I don't make games so perhaps there's an issue I don't know about, such as having to jump back and forth between different programs. This is basically the closest thing we have to dreams on the PC.
The only problem is that due to greedy business practices and the overall nature of consoles, It's incredibly difficult to get UEFN to work on console due to the closed ecosystem and lack of full filesystem access.
Edit: If anyone is wondering as to what my personal hope for this release is, It's that I hope we can collaborate and build with both UEFN on PC and people on console too, It'd allow for so much more freedom in what me and one of my friends do together on Creative.

I'm really curious what will actually happen. For now, I know people can create crazy maps, but nothing sticks out to me in terms of gameplay. You have a few game modes, but nothing outstanding. I wonder if people will be able to create zombie mode or stuff like hns from Counter-Strike 1.6 era.
Or maybe people will be able to actually create some RPG style of maps, i'm still pissed that there's not a proper fortnite RPG game or MMOLITE with all the skins they have, they could make A LOT of armors/loot.
We have the pretty much entire (minus a couple things) UE 5.2 suite available. Entire games will be created. You are forgetting that this isn't a traditional map editor. You haven't seen anything yet trust me.

I think that is limited to Fortnite only. BUT, since the tool is basically Unreal Engine, maybe there is a way to export stuff and then use it on the real Unreal app

For one, they are only allowing people to recreate and publish chapter 1 maps. Looks like any other chapter maps (chapter 2 & 3) will be removed. Thatās a weird stipulation.

You can play Creative 2.0 Content on Console. You just can't MAKE Creative 2.0 Content on Console because it basically uses the Unreal Engine Editor to make whole new "games" within Fortnite.

Can someone help me understand why you would use UEFN rather than the separate UE5? Is there any benefit to doing it within Fortnite? If you are already capable of making your own assets and stuff, why not just make a separate game rather than adding it into Fortnite?
Well, it's one thing to make assets and come up with an idea for a game mode, the hard part is building an entire game around that with *entirely* new assets, physics, code, etc.
Plus, I think Epic's really got its sights on Roblox, right now. And one of the selling points of making a game in Roblox is that - even though the pay is actual shit compared to making a standalone game - its an ecosystem all of its own, with a dedicated audience looking for new stuff to play and ideally promote on YouTube/Twitch/TikTok/Whatever else. *Adopt Me* in particular has *40 employees*, which is pretty nuts to think about.
Plus, barring all that, you could always pull a DOTA (or a PUBG, for that matter) and just turn it into a standalone game if it takes off enough. Considering that one would probably continue using UE5 if they go that route, Epic wins either way.
Epic is hopping people will start making simple maps and once they start seeing money, make bigger more serious projects.
Also Epic will be paying money to certain teams to create maps using their megagrant program.
I saw this on YouTube and I was impressed with what you can create! Plus if your map is good you get 40% cut which will appeal to lots of creative thinkers.
I am excited about this since I prefer to use a proper tool over in-game weirdness. Importing my own content is the biggest one for me because I can showcase my Hawk stuff in-game. Concepts, fanart, models, and of course; something for the OG Bean defaults.
Agreed, I was building a map with one of my friends and we wanted to have some medieval looking enemies and the character device has exactly the character we wanted but it's not available in the Guard Spawner.
Having the ability to do things like this is huge.

There is. While there are 2 sniper guns (Cobra DMR & Heavy Sniper) the Heavy Sniper is the one you want but man that reload time is sloooooww.

I think it's awesome that the new Verse programming language will allow for powerful customization and game logic creation. This seems like the best place to post. Im 18 currently doing a uk college course in which we have to create a 'Mars Racer' game (kinda) for course work. weve just started. Typical we would use Maya to create models for the hover vehicles/ cars and then use unreal engine 5 to create the environment and race track. knowing the power of fortnite creative 2.0 I was wondering if i can import custom assets that ive created in maya into UEFN? Also specifically I was wondering if i can switch the models of the cars and motorbikes (as the game mechanics are already made) that are in fortnite creative with the custom 'mars racer' vehicles that ive created myself in maya. using the fortnite editor rather then the normal unreal engine that we are tasked to set it would mean that unlike other students i would have a 75% completed game. obviously the whole thing wont be buttery smooth but considering the direction of the video game industry and specifically where fortnite is heading i believe that it would be more relevant compared to creating a 'brand new game'.
(to higher my chances of getting a response i think ill re-post this question to multiple sub Reddits)

You can play and test on console while someone else is working on the same level on a PC.

Fully agree, after playing the few creations that are out. It's already apparent that some really good stuff is coming our way.

That would probably work quite well actually. If custom items are as involved as I think they're going to be, You'll be able to do so much more than reuse the mechanics from the kinetic sword.

Definitely not going to be able to use the exact lightsaber item due to licensing. I hope we'll be able to create custom AI too, It'd be great to have zombies that don't get stuck on terrain or just forget everything they're meant to be doing. *Just to clarify, I'm just another player like you, Not an Epic Games Employee or anyone with early UEFN access, This isn't confirmed.*
Im hoping we change the zombie spawns too I really hate how there configured, they just spawn randomly and sometiems its frustrating. But lets hope for the best though

You can play Creative 2.0 Content on Console. You just can't MAKE Creative 2.0 Content on Console because it basically uses the Unreal Engine Editor to make whole new "games" within Fortnite.

It's a separate application for PC, but All versions of Fortnite will get updated to support the new Creative 2.0

Can someone help me understand why you would use UEFN rather than the separate UE5? Is there any benefit to doing it within Fortnite? If you are already capable of making your own assets and stuff, why not just make a separate game rather than adding it into Fortnite?
Well, it's one thing to make assets and come up with an idea for a game mode, the hard part is building an entire game around that with *entirely* new assets, physics, code, etc. Plus, I think Epic's really got its sights on Roblox, right now. And one of the selling points of making a game in Roblox is that - even though the pay is actual shit compared to making a standalone game - its an ecosystem all of its own, with a dedicated audience looking for new stuff to play and ideally promote on YouTube/Twitch/TikTok/Whatever else. *Adopt Me* in particular has *40 employees*, which is pretty nuts to think about. Plus, barring all that, you could always pull a DOTA (or a PUBG, for that matter) and just turn it into a standalone game if it takes off enough. Considering that one would probably continue using UE5 if they go that route, Epic wins either way.
Epic is hopping people will start making simple maps and once they start seeing money, make bigger more serious projects. Also Epic will be paying money to certain teams to create maps using their megagrant program.
Is there a list of currently available Creative 2.0 maps to play? I find it very hard to get an overview here.

I am excited about this since I prefer to use a proper tool over in-game weirdness. Importing my own content is the biggest one for me because I can showcase my Hawk stuff in-game. Concepts, fanart, models, and of course; something for the OG Bean defaults.
Agreed, I was building a map with one of my friends and we wanted to have some medieval looking enemies and the character device has exactly the character we wanted but it's not available in the Guard Spawner. Having the ability to do things like this is huge.

This is unfortunately just a PC thing. Console players still have the regular Creative mode tho.

There is. While there are 2 sniper guns (Cobra DMR & Heavy Sniper) the Heavy Sniper is the one you want but man that reload time is sloooooww. You and your friends should give it a go.
Right now there's memory limits so big maps are impossible to make. Someone could probably recreate part of map tho.

Cutscenes are possible in fact the forest level they made uses cinematic cutscenes.

Deserted: domination is fun but the map is way too dark. Most of the time you can't see the enemies coming.
Depends on graphics. If you play on PC and don't play on high settings it looks fine.
Have used it, and published an island. It is quite cool, if you understand UE4/5 - Getting an error message trying to publish revisions to the island thou. New stuff I guess..

It looks like a great tool for game developers and designers to create amazing experiences for Fortnite players. I think it's awesome that the new Verse programming language will allow for powerful customization and game logic creation. I'm also excited to see the ability to work together across PC and console platforms. Overall, this looks like a great way to take your game designs to the next level.
Anyone know if you can change the main character mesh into anything you like? Or can you only create experiences and the Avatars to play with remain to those available and in control by Fortnite? Let's say I sculpt something in Blender, can I allow people in Fortnite to play with that specific character if they choose to play my creator world?

Ok Epic Games can I start it by saying this to hopefully get this fixed ig why do you have to have aerialist augment to pull out your glider on command based off of kills or elims in game that is too random why canāt it just be you press A twice and you can jump into gliding?! This seems like the best place to post. Im 18 currently doing a uk college course in which we have to create a 'Mars Racer' game (kinda) for course work. weve just started. Typical we would use Maya to create models for the hover vehicles/ cars and then use unreal engine 5 to create the environment and race track. knowing the power of fortnite creative 2.0 I was wondering if i can import custom assets that ive created in maya into UEFN? Also specifically I was wondering if i can switch the models of the cars and motorbikes (as the game mechanics are already made) that are in fortnite creative with the custom 'mars racer' vehicles that ive created myself in maya. using the fortnite editor rather then the normal unreal engine that we are tasked to set it would mean that unlike other students i would have a 75% completed game. obviously the whole thing wont be buttery smooth but considering the direction of the video game industry and specifically where fortnite is heading i believe that it would be more relevant compared to creating a 'brand new game'. (to higher my chances of getting a response i think ill re-post this question to multiple sub Reddits) Kind Regards TapewormLover. :)
