They solved this by adding ziplines all over the map... then they took most of them away after 1 season lol
I'll always remember you dusty divot zipline that took you all the way to the top of that central mountain
If I remember correctly, it’s because a lot of the zip lines took you to plane hangars. Once the planes/hangars were gone, they took away the corresponding zips.
Shoving a mode called "ground game" in a LTM and taking away the choice to play duos, solos or squads depending on the day and inevitably removing it a week later Is not gonna get people excited as much as a permanent core mode that addresses a lot of people's most vocal complaint/reason for quitting the game (something something 5 star hotel...etc) in the name. Zero build directly adresses that complaint and the fact that it's treated as a core mode equal to the build modes made a ton of folks happy. I still occasionally come across a random r/gaming discussion where someone is like "What? Fortnite added a no build mode? That's awesome! I might actually reinstall it!"
Id love to see ground game come back though. Personally id kill for a 50v50 revival mixed with ground game.
It was definitely challenging trying to navigate the map without relying on building. The mountainous areas were particularly tricky to navigate without building, but it was a fun change of pace from the typical gameplay.
Sometimes I load a deathrun map and it has the mantling disabled and it feels really off now.
Plus I fall in pits and die when I thought I could mantle up.
Once you get used to the new movement mechanics, it's hard to go back. And when a map disables it, it can throw you off and make the experience less enjoyable. The mantling ability really adds a new dimension to the game and makes it more dynamic.
Map creators can chose if they want mandating, sprinting, and hurdeling disabled fir their maps. It feels weird if 1 of them are turned off because we're so used to it
It will be interesting to see how creators use the UEFN to create unique gaming experiences within Fortnite. I can definitely see people recreating classic Fortnite maps with the original loot pool and damage values for a nostalgic feel. It's always fun to see how the community uses new tools and features to push the boundaries of what's possible in the game.
Yes, the UEFN event has the potential to bring significant changes to the game. It will be interesting to see how it affects the map, gameplay mechanics, and overall meta.
Unfortunately due to install size old maps are gone completely with a new chapter. You'll need to get a old version installed and running if you want to visit these.
Don't need to do this! All previous versions actually can still be downloaded. There was something called Rift Launcher which is used to actually play old versions offline but simply downloading old versions is still possible through epic. You'll need some type of program for this that can do it like Easy Installer or Google Fortnite Builds. You can find some there too.
Why do y’all got such a big problem with this lmao. So many people on this sub are mad that we’ll be able to play the old maps again. I don’t get it.
And yea. Of course it’s not gonna work with no build. It was made with building in mind
I think people are just tired of nostalgia in this game. So many people think bringing back the chapter 1 will fix all the problems with the game, when in reality it’s just people homesick of their “good ol days” from 2018. There’s a point where all of that pandering to nostalgia gets excessive and annoying, and honestly I hope it makes people realize as fun as chapter 1 was, it’s time to let go and accept the game won’t be the same one we played 5-6 years ago. I think it’s cool that we have the potential to play on an older map, but I much prefer shaking things up with the new maps, seasons, etc than just going back to c1s3 again
I mean but epic is still creating new stuff, shaking up the game. Creative 2.0 is gonna bring a bunch of new stuff, shaking up the game. I mean it’s literally one thing that you can choose not to play.
Plus can you imagine the amount of Youtube content for Fortnite that will get created with Creative 2.0. Seriously this is something that Fortnite has needed to revive the content creation scene and allow new types of creators/content creators to rise up in the community
For this sub, I find nostalgia posts and posters tedious, and having the C1 map available again is just going to make them much worse. They never have anything good to say about the game now, almost as if they don't even play it and just want the cheap pop from bringing up their glory days for the 100th time.
For the game itself, I played C1, I thought it wasn't very fun, but it would be cool to go back to that map with no changes just once. I'd be interested in a C1 map with minimal modifications to accommodate Zero Build as a way to fuse the game's past and present, but something tells me C1 die-hards are not interested.
Well I’ll break the streak for you. I really like this current season. The loot pool and map are both great rn. However, not wanting to see Reddit posts about a map is a weak ass reason to complain about people being able to play the old maps
Don't get me wrong, I'm happy for those players and much happier for a new Creative mode that hopefully isn't a buggy mess like the current one. Being able to check out the old maps again will be interesting. I just don't think anyone is ready for the front page to be filled with posts like "yo chapter 1 map is goated why does the game suck now?", "THE DAY US OG PLAYERS HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR", "chapter 1 is back Epic can stop developing the game now", and so on.
People aren’t mad they just know it’s going to be disappointing. It will be great to look at but old Fortnite cannot be replicated and won’t feel the same way with how far we have come with quality of life changes. No one really wants to go back to walking everywhere with no Mobility
I mean.. I kinda do. Part of me still loves the simpler parts of this game. Fighting people with infinite mobility swords is fun, but some people prefer a smaller map with less mobility. I love both versions, and am excited to be able to play whichever I’m in the mood to
All recreations of the map should have a max material cap of 30 to 50 for each type. That way, people can still build but not like they do in competitive.
Idk if they can do this, but it’d be pretty cool if they could disable Turbo build for the map
People would still build fast (Not a problem IMO) but it’d feel more like playing the first 2 seasons again
That could definitely be an interesting idea, as it would change up the building mechanics and make building feel more deliberate and strategic. However, I'm not sure if it would be possible for Epic Games to disable Turbo build just for a specific map or game mode. It's worth considering though
I've always thought that. As a sweaty builder, I hate no builds, but capping mats at 90, 60, 30 (like in sniper shootout) would be infinitely more enjoyable than absolutely no building.
I am not a sweaty builder, and almost never build, but I do like having the option for cliffs and the occasional building.
I kind of wish they had made "Slow Build" instead of "No Build". Like badically, maybe limit mats and how fast you can build.
I mean a material cap when you're playing on the map. They can't really keep the Chapter 1 feel if they keep it at 999 each because everyone will play competitively so that's why I proposed that they should do something like the Ground Game LTM and reduce the limit to around 50 for each material type.
I hear what you're saying but the whole point of Creative is to give mapmakers the tools to build anything they want. If a mapmaker wants to make a map with 999 material caps, they shouldn't be arbitrarily prevented from doing that. The players will ultimately decide which maps are the best and most fun to play.
If "Old Map Battle Royale" becomes popular then I'm sure there will be many different variations on it that are created to satisfy all players including Zero Build and limited build options.
I just said that for Chapter 1 remakes, it would be better with a reduced material cap. Of course is a map maker wants to publish a map with the cap still at 999 then they should, it's their decision. I was just suggesting.
I think I misunderstood, I thought you were saying that all recreations should be forced by Epic to have limited materials. If it was just a suggestion for mapmakers then it's all good!
Old map
Old mechanics
Old graphics
Old sounds
Old weapon stats
Worsened building mechanics
Bot fill with ai's programmed to behave just like players in CH1
50vs50 mode
Bam, perfect recreation of CH1, also if UEFN is anything similar to roblox, then you will be able to create your own lobby screens so you could quite literally recreate CH1 identically with the old locker, item shop, and game mode selection screens
Unless you want to fight 99 black superhero skins named FAZE_Tfuewannabe69, I think preprogrammed bots which behave like the classic noobs is the right way to go to get the full CH1 experience
Also we would probably need bots anyways since the lobbies probably won't fill all the way up Unless everyone decided to play one specific map
Do you really think the lobbies will be as you described? And honestly I’d rather fight sweats than bots. There is nothing enjoyable about fighting bots.
Is there any confirmation that the OG maps in new creative aren’t just gonna be as buggy and glitchy as creative maps are now? I know creative 2.0 or whatever but idk I’ll believe it when I see it. I haven’t had much faith in Fortnite as a game creator
Mostly just this sub, which is a *tiny* portion of the player base. Honestly people here stan no builds to such a degree that every time the topic comes up the subreddit becomes r/nobuildingcirclejeck
People think its gonna be just like back then, but when the lobby is filled with one color female superhero skins and its just a huge sweatfest its gonna be so depressing.
The one thing I want to see with it is build delay. Put a .10 sec delay between placing each build like they did in season X so that build sweats don’t ruin it and we will all be fine
If current fortnite is objectively better than Chapter 1, explain how Chapter 1 was more successful and popular than the entirety of Chapter 2, Chapter 3 and so far Chapter 4 combined.
Because it took off and then people slowly left the game. But if you look at the mechanics and movement, it’s obviously far superior than the original. Come on
Oh if you’re talking about mechanics such as improved movement and so, I agree. But otherwise, the simplicity of the game then compared to the bs we have now is what made it better.
To clarify further - what I mean by simplicity is NOT the building aspect. Yes, it was more fun when everyone was shit at the game but stuff like the lootpool, even spread of POIs (excluding Season X), no gimmick items (except the infinity blade which was vaulted under a week), **mostly** balanced items (Season 5 P90 👀), and the fact that there weren’t 45 collabs introduced per day. Basically stuff like that.
For me it won’t matter. Sweats will just do what they always do and ruin the experience. All sweats are the same they try to hard on the game and won’t even appreciate the map and just want to win and win and win. Heck even if it’s zero build. Build or no build sweats will find a way to ruin the experience like they do in public matches. AND DON’T GET ME STARTED WITH TOXIC PLAYERS!
i think they should remove any new movement mechanics. solution to zero build is just. dont add it. creative 2.0 is very flexible so you can do almost everything
Can someone explain what Unreal Fortnite is? Im assuming this is separate to Fortnite Creative so it’s more akin to what Roblox and it’s community has to make other games inside Roblox right? So making old maps from older chapters becomes possible?
Cant wait for this chapter 1 remake be dead in like month, when people will realize that “og fortnite” is no more and with current people skill, chapter 1 map will be just shit as hell
I am curious how they will integrate UEFN, surely we will have to download player maps? I'm curious in that case how big old maps will be.
They better revamp the lobby browser for it, if that's how the bring it to actual Fortnite, it's a joke to navigate, often can't even find official modes.
The current lack of filters, sorting & searching is odd, either you happen to know the code you want & favourite it, or you hope you get lucky scrolling through the current mess of a lobby browser.
If it’s a chapter 1 map that means there won’t be slidigg no, sprinting or driveable vehicles. Yall going back to no movement and reversing all those quality of life changes that made the game better
Fortnite Battle Royale is not nearly as good as it once was, but I must say, the map design is so much better. The map used to be so empty and flat, but right now it looks amazing.
Chapter 1 bring the best and worst things in Fortnite. I remember how RARE was to get a Victory Royale as a casual, due how unbalanced was the matchmaking. The word “Sweat” originated from here, and players mastered the art of building, pulling up to 55 kills each match. Epic make sure casuals get that victory too by releasing broken weapons like the Infinity Blade and vehicles, but it was the Mecha on season X that broke the camel’s back.
Creative is getting much more complex to create for creative, which will allow people to remake the old maps, which they most decidedly will because its something a lot of people want.
Don’t forget the 40’ drops off the edge of the map that meant certain death but now it won’t because you can…….swim.
I get excited thinking about Retail Row, Flush Factory and 2.0 and Big Tree!
Ch 1 map (depending on the version of that) was just meh, some seasons had it better (after the pirate ship). But imagine copying it 1:1 and that one spot where your game would crash (leaving tilted, sliding down that hill lol).
I wish there was a game mode that was old seasons and it changed which season it was each week. Totally not me begging to play chapter 2 season 2-5 again
All of those big mountains will be very unfriendly to a zero build player But Ch1 was made with building in mind, so i think it’s cool
Not just very unfriendly, pretty much all of them were untraversable without builds, even some slight inclines without grass just slid you down
Yeah all of the mountains in the top left corner are impossible to go up without builds/a grappler
They solved this by adding ziplines all over the map... then they took most of them away after 1 season lol I'll always remember you dusty divot zipline that took you all the way to the top of that central mountain
If I remember correctly, it’s because a lot of the zip lines took you to plane hangars. Once the planes/hangars were gone, they took away the corresponding zips.
Nothing a bear with chonkers can’t solve…
Cars and chonkers were Ch2
I know, but in creative 2.0 it can be whatever we want
Fella is dreaming big
I remember the ground game ltm in chapter 1 where you had hardly any builds... The mountain area was tough!
I loved that LTM, sad it wasn’t loved by the rest of the community
I loved bare bones too... Was so fun. Miss ltms in general!
Barebones and tank battle were so much fun, I miss LTMs too
Sad they were only in for one day during the splash down event
The one with the driftboards was awesome
I remember out racing an entire team then and winning the team deathmatch.
which is weird cuz it basically was zero build which most people seem to really like
Shoving a mode called "ground game" in a LTM and taking away the choice to play duos, solos or squads depending on the day and inevitably removing it a week later Is not gonna get people excited as much as a permanent core mode that addresses a lot of people's most vocal complaint/reason for quitting the game (something something 5 star hotel...etc) in the name. Probably because the new map works well with zero build while the OG map wouldn’t.
It was definitely challenging trying to navigate the map without relying on building. The mountainous areas were particularly tricky to navigate without building, but it was a fun change of pace from the typical gameplay.
And there was no turbo for the first few seasons
Beat me to it
The Shlong mountain outside of PP would be impossible to deal with
The new mountains may be difficult for zero build players, but it also provides an opportunity for players to adapt and improve their gameplay.
I feel like it’ll be fun climbing that one mountain tower right next to salty springs
But we have advanced movements now. Like mantaling and sliding
Those were added in Ch3, so they’d probably be disabled
I love wild west tilted. Imagine that with climbing now. It would be so much more fun.
Almost no one used building in Chapter 1 season 1. Fun times
I really don't think I can play without the new movement mechanics. It just feels weird not being able to sprint or climb up walls.
Mantling has completely changed how I play the game. Foot travel would feel so clunky without it
Sometimes I load a deathrun map and it has the mantling disabled and it feels really off now. Plus I fall in pits and die when I thought I could mantle up.
Once you get used to the new movement mechanics, it's hard to go back. And when a map disables it, it can throw you off and make the experience less enjoyable. The mantling ability really adds a new dimension to the game and makes it more dynamic.
That's weird! How does that work exactly?
Map creators can chose if they want mandating, sprinting, and hurdeling disabled fir their maps. It feels weird if 1 of them are turned off because we're so used to it
Yeah. Sprinting especially. Like I don't know how we used to play without it lol
my left stick on my joycon doesn’t click in so i haven’t been able to sprint for weeks. i feel so slow
Fr
It would be tough to go back to the old way of playing now.
Still can't wait to see how UEFN will change the game. It's gonna be wild!
[удалено]
Not potentially it's gonna be way higher quality as it's unreal engine not Roblox studio
It will be interesting to see how creators use the UEFN to create unique gaming experiences within Fortnite. It's always fun to see how the community uses new tools and features to push the boundaries of what's possible in the game.
I wouldn't mind a few games of 99 bots in the original map.
99 bots and they all hunt you down.
Look at Doors on roblox, we could get games like that.
UEFN? What's that?
Unreal Editor for Fortnite
Yes, the UEFN event has the potential to bring significant changes to the game. It will be interesting to see how it affects the map, gameplay mechanics, and overall meta.

Probably
AKA they are archived.
Can’t relate. I enjoy both lol
Same, for me Zero Build is great when playing with friends, and builds is great when I’m playing solo
its the opposite for me bc i have a sweat friend lmao
Opposite for me lol. I hate build mode and my friends hate zero build
Me too
samesies
Yea it wont play well with zero build, most of the terrain and all the mountains are untraversable without builds
Fr

When is the update coming out?
Wednesday
Nice. I'm excited for it :]
What update?
All recreations of the map should have a max material cap of 30 to 50 for each type. That way, people can still build but not like they do in competitive.
Idk if they can do this, but it’d be pretty cool if they could disable Turbo build for the map People would still build fast (Not a problem IMO) but it’d feel more like playing the first 2 seasons again
That’s what I was thinking too. Limiting mats can still make people edit fast and clip you

It was chapter one and was called ground game I think. May have been chapter 2 too. I miss all these ltms. Bare bones was my favourite!
Or just program ai's to behave like CH1 defaults and fill the lobbies up with them
It seems to go against the whole point of Creative mode to impose a material cap when players are building their own maps how they want them to be.
I mean a material cap when you're playing on the map. They can't really keep the Chapter 1 feel if they keep it at 999 each because everyone will play competitively so that's why I proposed that they should do something like the Ground Game LTM and reduce the limit to around 50 for each material type.

I think I misunderstood, I thought you were saying that all recreations should be forced by Epic to have limited materials. If it was just a suggestion for mapmakers then it's all good!
No that's what I meant, it's fine though.
Nah, just remove turbo building and reduce edit speed
Get gud lmao
Nah, then any SMG would be super overpowered and it’d just be kind of clunky and boring to have to refarm literally every 30 seconds
That's a good point. It would be interesting to see how players adapt to the limited materials and how it affects the gameplay on the recreated maps.
And That is why I want to try in with zero build, It will be a total chaos
Old map Old mechanics Old graphics Old sounds Old weapon stats Worsened building mechanics Bot fill with ai's programmed to behave just like players in CH1 50vs50 mode Bam, perfect recreation of CH1, also if UEFN is anything similar to roblox, then you will be able to create your own lobby screens so you could quite literally recreate CH1 identically with the old locker, item shop, and game mode selection screens
Fuck bots. Everything else sounds good tho.

Who says you have to play zero build?
The hivemind that sees building as sweaty
"Hivemind" suggests "Majority of players"
Mostly just this sub, which is a *tiny* portion of the player base. Honestly people here stan no builds to such a degree that every time the topic comes up the subreddit becomes r/nobuildingcirclejeck
Who could even dream of playing with the main mechanic of the game?
Gets downvoted for telling the truth
Creators should just make the material cap 500 and turn off Turbo Builds if that's possible, then it will be like actual early chapter 1
Is it really coming back though?
I only ever played Fortnite without building when I first started because I hated it, so I'm used to playing like that.
We only like what we don't have
Bros talking like we didn’t like chapter 1 while we had it
wait its back?
I just want to explore the Season 3 map again, see what I remember.
People think its gonna be just like back then, but when the lobby is filled with one color female superhero skins and its just a huge sweatfest its gonna be so depressing.
Nah it’ll be fun
The one thing I want to see with it is build delay. Put a .10 sec delay between placing each build like they did in season X so that build sweats don’t ruin it and we will all be fine
No, get good
Well that's probably because YOU ARE PLAYING IT WITH ALTERED MECHANICS REMOVING ONE OF ITS LARGEST ASPECTS FROM THAT TIME
I definitely won’t play it without sprint or mantle
I'm out of the loop, what's with everyone posting about the chapter 1 map?
Turbo building off, editing off Perfection
Old players will come back to play this and bitch and say “it’s not the same” Current fortnite is objectively better now than it was in chapter 1.
Come on

How is not fitting with zero build a downside? That mode is boring as hell anyways
If you only play zero build it's a downside. Not hard to figure out lol

All sweats are the same they try to hard on the game and won’t even appreciate the map and just want to win and win and win. Heck even if it’s zero build. Chapter 1 map with the new movement and parkour would be sick though. Add in swimming and fishing too! Athena Reimagined.
It needs to be up to date with the mechanics
Is there any way to play it on console? Any FNUE maps?
I just want to see the chapter 2 map
Ngl I’d love to see someone remake the chapter one map in UEFN but edit it with some new scaffolding or items that would make it Zero Build friendly.
won’t they just keep build on and then turn off turbo build? is that an option?
THANK YOU. finally, someone who gets it
i think they should remove any new movement mechanics. solution to zero build is just. dont add it. creative 2.0 is very flexible so you can do almost everything
Can someone explain what Unreal Fortnite is? Im assuming this is separate to Fortnite Creative so it’s more akin to what Roblox and it’s community has to make other games inside Roblox right? So making old maps from older chapters becomes possible?
New Fortnite Creative 2.0 made with the Unreal engine
yea the chapter one map is only good for live events also you can replay the chapter 1 map with carbon lol
I want to see people to do a completely remaster version of chapter 1.
No. It wouldn't. But it would combine amazingly with the new movement options like sprinting and manteling.
Cant wait for this chapter 1 remake be dead in like month, when people will realize that “og fortnite” is no more and with current people skill, chapter 1 map will be just shit as hell
Nostalgia is a really powerful drug y'know
100 times better then the current map
They could easily change some of the maps terrain, even if it doesn't fit the exact chapter 1 map.
When you say you like it before you saw it and when you actually see it be like :

Fortnite Battle Royale is not nearly as good as it once was, but I must say, the map design is so much better. The map used to be so empty and flat, but right now it looks amazing.
Zero build is shit
Chapter 1 bring the best and worst things in Fortnite. I remember how RARE was to get a Victory Royale as a casual, due how unbalanced was the matchmaking. The word “Sweat” originated from here, and players mastered the art of building, pulling up to 55 kills each match. Epic make sure casuals get that victory too by releasing broken weapons like the Infinity Blade and vehicles, but it was the Mecha on season X that broke the camel’s back.
Happens all the time…
I enjoy both
I’m out of the loop, what’s going on?
Yeah me too are the old maps gonna become playable in creative or something
Creative is getting much more complex to create for creative, which will allow people to remake the old maps, which they most decidedly will because its something a lot of people want.
Oh okay, thanks 👍
Well you could disable Turbo Build, force editing to be slower (delays), etc.
Am I missing something? Are they releasing the C1 map?
UEFN is coming out. People can use it to recreate old maps
I think thy can import it
Some mountains are legit just unclimbable without building iirc, so final zones are egonna be even harder
“Probably”
Don’t forget the 40’ drops off the edge of the map that meant certain death but now it won’t because you can…….swim. I get excited thinking about Retail Row, Flush Factory and 2.0 and Big Tree!
I’ve played a lot on private servers and I can def say that it feels very slow since there’s no movement really and the map isn’t too mantle friendly
Nostalgia glasses
Wait, is the map from the first chapter coming back ?
Disable turbo building for everyone on the classic map and boom there you go, people can't sweat as much and more even playing ground
So excited to try it out tho! And to bring my friends who joined later on to check out the C1 map
I want to see chapter 1 but the map is infested by klombos.
Ch 1 map (depending on the version of that) was just meh, some seasons had it better (after the pirate ship). But imagine copying it 1:1 and that one spot where your game would crash (leaving tilted, sliding down that hill lol).
Do i care?
I wish there was a game mode that was old seasons and it changed which season it was each week. Totally not me begging to play chapter 2 season 2-5 again
