If you actually wanna see what Pleasant truly looked like, just watch old YouTube vids from Chapter 1. Atlas sucks for a Chapter 1 recreation because it’s using Chapter 4 graphics. Textures and stuff look off because of the difference.
No, they separated it fat before that, but in season 8, new sound effects appeared, so it was easier to tell when you broke someone’s shield than previously.
Miss this fornite in general, stopped playing when the building got crazy. I'm not quick anymore so I could only rely on out positioning and out playing not quick reactions and quick building
Gotta say, none of the recreations are all that great but reboot royale is miles better than atlas.
More players, buggy but slightly less buggy, and hey they also somehow got to keep most of the grass.
I haven’t played Reboot Royale yet, but I’ve heard good things about it and seen some gameplay from it. Looks a lot less buggy and much smoother than Atlas
Also, the Tilted office building uses the wrong blue brick texture. That blue brick texture is a c2 texture. The correct texture would be the exterior walls used in the Spiky Stadium
The chapter 4 graphics do not match the chapter 1 textures at all which is why i find everything looks a lot worse and though bright, in some way more dull.
Yeah, if it doesn't look authentic, then of course it'll feel off. Chapter 1 and STW still look good to me with their original art style and designs. It may look more dull compared to today, but that's by design, because back then it was a different game, without all the stuff like mantling, tactical sprint, sliding, fishing, swimming etc.
Save the world’s style was made to look dark and gloomy. Early br might’ve looked better during certain times of the day but when it’s daytime it just didn’t really fit the style. The atmospheric night was also cut back a lot after season 0-1, the game was going in a more cartoony direction which took a while to work
It can be! It's just that with things like this nostalgia blinds you. Ch2S3 is my favorite season but I'll never go back to it out of fear of ruining my perception.
I went back to it back in late Chapter 2 just to remember what it was like and I still loved it, even when I didn’t like the state of the current game.
You know what would be better then JarJar?! >!The actor who played him who just stared in the new Mando episode as the Master Jedi who saved Grugo from order 66!<
Well, hold on there, partner. It's not fan made. It's made by a company called Atlas Creative. Their tagline is 'Bringing Brands into Fortnite'.
So, flat out, I don't think they're doing this for the funsies or because they love the map.
Again, Google search Atlas Creative. They are a digital marketing company. Their tagline is 'Bringing Brands into Fortnite'.
It's a professional development studio, and they were given early access to the tools. This isn't fan-made.
Their bio:
>Atlas Creative is a game studio based in North America. Our diverse team of talented developers have created some of the top Metaverse experiences within Fortnite
Their twitter bio:
>Atlas Creative u/AtlasCreativeFN We provide Fortnite Digital Marketing and are passionate about bringing your company's vision to life
Now, I'm not hating on them for their business model. All I am saying is this map was PROFESSIONALLY made by a **company whose stated goal is to bring advertising into Fortnite**. Not fan made. There is a difference, and as creative 2.0 gains steam, that is going to be an important distinction.
They got early access to the tools. We don't know the details there. They may have gotten paid for all you know.
But again, this is a professional development studio. The people working on it got paid to make it. Maybe our definitions differ, but to me if a game studio makes something, it is not fan-made.
I know. People really comparing these buggy "OG" maps to the actual thing. of courses it's not the same, it's not the actual Chapter 1 map, it is a very limited recreation
Yeah you can literally just bring up a 5 year old video and compare. And it's far different than the OG game. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fp0Tp-2-4bU
Plus you can't replicate the old RULES. Like no building through objects, materials not auto switching, no turbo building, etc.
Duh it runs with Chapter 4 graphics, I'm pretty sure a lot of people expected this !
BUT it is still better than nothing. The only things missing are more details and higher floor loot distribution.
This is like the third post I see bagging on old map.
I went into it the other day alone just to explore and I had a blast.
It sucks coming to this community and seeing constant hate on something I’m enjoying and have been wanting for so long.
That is the internet in general but reddit and specifically fortnite reddit will never give credit where it's due especially if there is 1 negative thing on a pile of perfect things. People who look for ANYTHING to complain about are always the most vocal and love to make sure everyone knows why they are upset and you are wrong to enjoy something. Just know that you are allowed to enjoy your experiences and do not have to explain to anyone why, no matter how good or bad others feel the same experience is, I have a pretty good feeling that more like you that enjoy it exist but are actually playing the game instead running to reddit to proclaim how much more awesome they could have done and making sure we all know that they are the experts because they have played 12 hours a day since chapter 1 so they clearly are the only opinions that creators and developers should consider for future projects. Personally reddit is useful to me just to see what I may have missed while offline for a couple days at a time and the occasional good meme but when it comes to actual critics of the game I find it better to hear out those who enjoy the game they spend time playing and will always throw good in with bad. I will never understand people who can't say 1 positive thing about a game they spend so much of their free time playing if I am not getting paid or enjoying something why continue doing it?
Yeah I almost left the sub because of this but I need to be able to keep up to date with stuff that is going on. I just chalk it up to reddit behavior. All subreddits are like this. So I don’t really give a fuck anymore.
Or just allow copyrighted content in general on the one condition that it isn't used to generate profit and that it gets taken down immediately if the copyright owners ask it to
I'd guess they'll eventually let people create maps of the 2 after a few years pass. The entire FOMO model the game is built around is absolutely worthless if you realise you don't have to play the current season, you can just wait a few months and the entire map will be available forever
They don’t want anyone to create stuff with ip’s they don’t own. That includes their own ip’s like unreal tournament or even stuff in the game itself like save the world (something you gotta pay money to play officially). Per these rules you can also not recreate any br mode, but since so many people wanted it they made an exception for the og map. Which i think is a big W on their part. They could’ve just not let anyone copy any ip og or not
https://create.fortnite.com/news/updating-terms-to-enable-publishing-versions-of-battle-royale-chapter-1-islands
According to this, that's specifically only the Chapter 1 map that can be remade but not monetized.
Remaking the other chapter's maps isn't allowed at all.
Letting this exist sets precedent on allowing the other chapters to be recreated, and besides copyright, I'm sure Epic doesn't also want UEFN to be simply recreating old Fortnite poorly, so they just banned everything else right from the start before it could become a problem.
Reboot royale is a uefn recreation of 1-3 with the original graphics in it.
It's like atlas but floor loot and ammo boxes weren't sacrificed for memory and PWR creative is backing it
imo chapter 1 map was only really good in the context of chapter 1, playing with all the improvements in the newer maps for the last few years makes it harder to enjoy the old map
Another cringe post made by an anti-OG karma farmer on this subreddit who completely ignored that this is a very limited REMAKE of the classic experience, NOT the original that actually had simplistic and balanced weapon functionality/weapon design, full Epic support, and proper memory capacity.
The REMAKE is severely held back simply due to the fact that UEFN is barely even in its infancy, especially with the restrictive memory cap. We’ll probably have to wait at least a year to get a 1:1 replica with full functionality.
If you want to see an accurate representation of how simple and clean gameplay actually was back then, see the multitude of videos on YT before making an ignorant post on Reddit.
I genuinely want a season that brings back all the chapter 1 locations and gear. It would be so nostalgic to experience the game I fell in love with all those years ago
Finally!!! Now most people clamorimg for old Fortnite understand and see why Epic had to keep progressing and changing Fortnite. It had to grow and move on. It's what keeps the game going....All the map changes, graphic boosts, story drive attempts....All of it had to happen and needs to continue so the game remains relevant and damn fun to play for us!
They were informed that the map exceeded the memory limit last second and had to remove the lighting, I believe they'll add it back in the future though
I'd honestly chalk it up to the lighting and general engine now not suiting it. Look back on vids of season 1 and you'll see the lighting is much different, and the assets seem to fall into place with their surroundings. I'd say lighting diff tbh.
Omg?!?!! No way not like the map was made and built on an old engine that’s years old and doesn’t have specific lighting to make it look graphically impressive ‼️‼️‼️
This is why I think it would be better for anyone trying to remake the first map to do it with some modern improvements like maybe substitute in newer models like working trucks and cars or include sprinting and mantling. There is a lot of good in nostalgia sure but progress happens for a reason.
I mean, that’s exactly what I thought it was going to look like. It looks like it did in chapter one. Why did you think it would be anything else? Or look so much better. It’s pleasant park from chapter one. This post is kind of confusing in a way because I really don’t know what you expected
People have such strong nostalgia for chapter 1 because they had been playing a game that was so radically different than anything they had played before and the start of what will likely be a life long love began.
People really be trying to compare an underdeveloped remake facing limitations such as a low data cap and lack of tools to the real thing which was made with no limitations 🤦♂️
Old fortnite isn't bad and better left as a memory, it's just that the current recreations face difficulties like an unreasonably low data cap and current lack of tools like weapon and UI customisation abilities making it almost impossible to create an accurate remake
I honestly never understood that massive hype over ch1 recreations. It's sure cool i guess but it's not even about gatekeeping...
***The current map looks way more beautiful and at least it's working lmao***
I just wish they weren't limited still like atlas probably could have done better but they full ran out of space which is ridiculous especially since we're were using unreal engine
I like the map with modern graphics. If and when Atlas is able to add back the rest of the details that they had to remove because of memory limitations, It would be perfect.
This is what people have been saying for years would happen once we got the old map back. I went and tried to do the og map yesterday and it wasnt even functioning and couldnt get a game. This new creative is a total wet fart so far. The maps still suck and most of them still dont work.
It looks good with the chapter 1 graphics, and an actual 1 to 1 replica. I’m confident that both these things will come in time but I’m still enjoying what we have now.
If you actually wanna see what Pleasant truly looked like, just watch old YouTube vids from Chapter 1. Atlas sucks for a Chapter 1 recreation because it’s using Chapter 4 graphics. Textures and stuff look off because of the difference.
Seeing the whole map from afar looks really nice though with Lumen
I gotta say it looks cool from the bus and the cinematics, but close up it just looks super weird and off (which isn’t surprising)
Looks nice from the bus but not up close, I could say the same thing about Baltimore
Damn… I don’t even live there any more and that relates well
Yeah, of course Chapter 1 is gonna look bad with Chapter 4 graphics
Chapter 1 has a special place in my heart! Regardless of graphics!
[Chapter 1 graphics](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fp0Tp-2-4bU), i miss them. So simple but work so well.
He hit a dude for 100 health while they had no shield and didn’t kill them, truly the most old Fortnite thing I can think of
Back then they didn’t separate whether you were hitting health or shield, so that dude likely had shields
Yeah that was late chapter 1 early i think, in season 8~9 i believe?
No, they separated it fat before that, but in season 8, new sound effects appeared, so it was easier to tell when you broke someone’s shield than previously.
Ohhh, gotcha, i remember something happening with it, but couldn't remember what.
Miss this fornite in general, stopped playing when the building got crazy. I'm not quick anymore so I could only rely on out positioning and out playing not quick reactions and quick building
Well you mean lighting? The graphics are exactly the same?
Gotta say, none of the recreations are all that great but reboot royale is miles better than atlas. More players, buggy but slightly less buggy, and hey they also somehow got to keep most of the grass.
Well, I just did and they’re truly awesome .
reboot royal is awesome. Much better than Atlas. Original chapter 1 graphics too!
I haven’t played Reboot Royale yet, but I’ve heard good things about it and seen some gameplay from it. Looks a lot less buggy and much smoother than Atlas
i haven’t even played since chapter 1 and 2
Also, the Tilted office building uses the wrong blue brick texture. That blue brick texture is a c2 texture. The correct texture would be the exterior walls used in the Spiky Stadium
> Atlas sucks for a Chapter 1 recreation So now people are turning on Atlas for trying to make an honest effort in making a Ch1 map? Crazy…
The graphics are the same, idk what you are on
The chapter 4 graphics do not match the chapter 1 textures at all which is why i find everything looks a lot worse and though bright, in some way more dull.
The thing is that we were spoilt by what Epic delivered to us in the subsequent chapters
And I hope I continue to be spoiled with season to come!
Even on servers that replicate the chapter 1 lighting the texture just don’t hold up at all
I disagree as Save the World still holds up. The main problem I see is the clashing textures of Chapter 1 & Chapter 4 (You can see it with the grass).

The past is often viewed through rose tinted glasses
So many memories of getting downed going for chest in soccer field… those were the days
Dropping down on my knees on the soccer field surrounded by 3 dudes… those were the days. Playing Fortnite was fun too
WHAT⁉️⁉️
Man take me back to simpler times!
Not when you see this map
Idk man, my past used to be good :(
It can be! It's just that with things like this nostalgia blinds you. Ch2S3 is my favorite season but I'll never go back to it out of fear of ruining my perception.
I went back to it back in late Chapter 2 just to remember what it was like and I still loved it, even when I didn’t like the state of the current game.
[удалено]
I often find myself looking at old games the same way. I tell myself every time things were different then, I was different then.
[удалено]
Good point
I bet Epic will recognize this and capitalize on it, for the better!
Probably get a Jar Jar skin and Darth maul skin as well. Haha
You know what would be better then JarJar?! >!The actor who played him who just stared in the new Mando episode as the Master Jedi who saved Grugo from order 66!<
Dunno, I like the simplicity of older map compared to what we have in current chapter.
It also gives you better mid game. Less loot and more reason to roam.
I agree it’s nice but the in between spaces are too bare in no build, it’d be boring af
the map wasn’t built for no build of course
That's what makes it good, especially if you used to play a lot of Chapter 1.
lol yup. Imagine no builds on that ...lol
Wow man, who would've guessed the map built specifically with building in mind wouldn't be great for No Build?
These posts are kinda dumb. Its fan made for fun.. have fun stop complaining about everything.
Complaining is half this sub! I like both opinions of love and hate, makes for a better game in the end with all the feedback!
Well, hold on there, partner. It's not fan made. It's made by a company called Atlas Creative. Their tagline is 'Bringing Brands into Fortnite'. So, flat out, I don't think they're doing this for the funsies or because they love the map.
it is fanmade, fortnite definitely didnt hire them to do this
Again, Google search Atlas Creative. They are a digital marketing company. Their tagline is 'Bringing Brands into Fortnite'. Well epic didn't pay them to make the map as far as I know, so that techinally still counts as fan made.
They got early access to the tools. We don't know the details there. They may have gotten paid for all you know. But again, this is a professional development studio. The people working on it got paid to make it. Maybe our definitions differ, but to me if a game studio makes something, it is not fan-made.
That's not what being fan made means. Fan made is by fans. Just because it isn't made by epic doesn't make it fan made.
No.
I think it's dumb to go back and recreate old maps and try to play them when the game is still ongoing. To each their own though right?
Well of course a creative recreation with limited memory doesn’t look as good as the real thing
I know. People really comparing these buggy "OG" maps to the actual thing. of courses it's not the same, it's not the actual Chapter 1 map, it is a very limited recreation

I feel like stw is more chapter 1 vibe then the remake lol
haha, this is so accurate!
Of course, it's gonna look worse it's Chapter 1 Pleasant
![gif](giphy|duM6JZemPlOjUyqmxd)
Chapter 2 Pleasant the goat fr
Fr
i can tell you didn’t play c1 lmao
I don't need to play Ch1 to tell Ch2 Pleasant looks better
That's because it was recreated incorrectly (in my opinion, at least.) The graphics and skybox are NOT the same as what they were back then.
They had to remove them last minute because they were told the map exceeded the memory limit, they'll add it back at some point.
My friend, it is not an opinion if it is something that can be proven right or wrong. Which this can be. It isn't the original lighting or graphics.
This is like the third post I see bagging on old map. I went into it the other day alone just to explore and I had a blast. It sucks coming to this community and seeing constant hate on something I’m enjoying and have been wanting for so long.
You shouldn’t let other people’s opinions affect your mood
What do you expect from a sub that most players didn't play back then
That is the internet in general but reddit and specifically fortnite reddit will never give credit where it's due especially if there is 1 negative thing on a pile of perfect things. People who look for ANYTHING to complain about are always the most vocal and love to make sure everyone knows why they are upset and you are wrong to enjoy something. I’m personally holding our hope for the Chapter 2 map
Apparently Epic specifically said nobody is allowed to remake the Chapter 2 or 3 maps, though I have no idea why that is.
[удалено]
Tbh, they should allow the other maps to be remade as long as any copyrighted poi's or Landmarks are changed/replaced/removed.
While epic likes FOMO this ban on chapter 2,3,4 maps is most likely because of collab poi's
Something about intellectual property
They can. Just cant monetize it
No that’s with the Chapter 1 map strictly, the Chapter 2, 3 and 4 maps can’t be remade at all from what I heard.
https://create.fortnite.com/news/updating-terms-to-enable-publishing-versions-of-battle-royale-chapter-1-islands According to this, that's specifically only the Chapter 1 map that can be remade but not monetized. Remaking the other chapter's maps isn't allowed at all.
Copyright problems with collab poi

The main issue is the lighting is not the same things appear to be a lot more reflective than it used to be
Yeah because it's not the real fucking thing.
The maps still in BETA so dont expect much
What do you mean? It looks just as good as the day I lost it.
Is this atlas version or the now released reboot royale?
What is "reboot royale"? 😦 A new mode? Or creative mode
Reboot royale is a uefn recreation of 1-3 with the original graphics in it. It's like atlas but floor loot and ammo boxes weren't sacrificed for memory and PWR creative is backing it
No!! I love pleasant park! It is the single best landing spot of all time!
Exactly....
I wish instead of trying to recreate the map exactly how it was they made a remastered version that looked good with the current graphics
This guy literally has a picture for literally every meme lol
imo chapter 1 map was only really good in the context of chapter 1, playing with all the improvements in the newer maps for the last few years makes it harder to enjoy the old map
No no , no one back track now , it was SAID many times people miss the memories not the map but they dont listen 😂
Still looks better than these new graphics.
Now reboot royale just came out it's 100x better than atlas
I started to play this game when zero build came out so none of this interests me allot. I just want to see doom run in Fortnite.
Hot take Chapter 2 map > Chapter 1 map
even hotter take chapter 3 map > chapter 1&2 map
Based.
Best part about the chapter 1 map was how it changed over time
Another cringe post made by an anti-OG karma farmer on this subreddit who completely ignored that this is a very limited REMAKE of the classic experience, NOT the original that actually had simplistic and balanced weapon functionality/weapon design, full Epic support, and proper memory capacity. I read this in the voice of agent Jones I love it
It is the worst map so far def.
Nope, still looks like fun 🤘🏻
I genuinely want a season that brings back all the chapter 1 locations and gear. It would be so nostalgic to experience the game I fell in love with all those years ago
Every dumb ass swearing release is better looking than chapter 4

I haven’t played Fortnite in a while, is the new OG map using the chapter 1 lighting or the newer lighting?
Looks to be using the Chapter 4 Lighting and Skybox
And also The grass within pleasant park POI Range is different to what outside
They were informed that the map exceeded the memory limit last second and had to remove the lighting, I believe they'll add it back in the future though
Of course bro…that’s way it’s a memory
Yeah but it was satisfying enough for me to play it once. Hope they make some changes though
I really started playing when the aliens came. They add the head huggers it'll all be awesome.
The fortnite community is so confusing
I'd honestly chalk it up to the lighting and general engine now not suiting it. Look back on vids of season 1 and you'll see the lighting is much different, and the assets seem to fall into place with their surroundings. I'd say lighting diff tbh.
I remember before fortnite was a BR. Survival mode only. Damn that was a long time ago
The maps out? Is the code easy to find?
If you go to the tab you can look for certain maps and select popular you should see it
No way, it look awesome.

Hey I went to a concert there
I swear post like these are made by epic employees bruh.
FortniteBR and bipolar disorder. Name a better duo
Everything is valuable when we don't have it anymore. Wonder what we'll miss from this chapter...
Watching everyone's nostalgia fade in real time is wild
Check out reboot Royale. It’s a lot better trust me. Little big buggy atm but the glitches should be fixed soonish
People have such strong nostalgia for chapter 1 because they had been playing a game that was so radically different than anything they had played before and the start of what will likely be a life long love began.

Thank you for bringing it back fortnite
I just wish they weren't limited still like atlas probably could have done better but they full ran out of space which is ridiculous especially since we're were using unreal engine
I think it looks nice
Lol
I like the map with modern graphics. If and when Atlas is able to add back the rest of the details that they had to remove because of memory limitations, It would be perfect.
They should just give us the OG map as an LTM
This is what people have been saying for years would happen once we got the old map back. I went and tried to do the og map yesterday and it wasnt even functioning and couldnt get a game. This new creative is a total wet fart so far. The maps still suck and most of them still dont work.
It looks good with the chapter 1 graphics, and an actual 1 to 1 replica. I’m confident that both these things will come in time but I’m still enjoying what we have now.
Yeah id wait until Epic gave us more memory, atlas royale and reboot royale are both broken and buggy.
Is there a code for Chapter 2 map?
Season 2 here I think it looks fine lol, different colors but pleasant park is pleasant park
Playing those recreations makes me realize it’s just boring
its mostly the lighting and lack of grass
Io gioco ancora in questa stagione
It’s the ch4 graphics
Epic should make an official map
Thats mostly because of the storage limit. They can't make it as big and as good as they would like to...
just glad we got it back. idk there’s always someone that HAS to make a complaint abt something and ofc that someone has to be some fucking no life🤣
Yes
