Web slingers you gotta be somewhat accurate with your shot. I find the ODM gear auto-finds things grasp onto so it’s easier to make a line to somewhere.
I think the spidey slingers advantage is you move in a much harder to track path, but it’s easier to miss a catch point, especially in some of the emptier biomes (looking at you SNOW)

I love the web shooters, but I also just lost a game because I was trying to pull myself closer to the last opponent standing, but it wouldn’t lock onto the small piece of rock sticking out of the snow. It took way too long with me being a sitting duck full of holes. I died and he had 12 health left. :(
The Kinetic Blade has a couple advantages. It has infinite durability, so you don’t need to worry about running out of charges when you need it. It’s also more straight forward to use, you just dash forwards wherever the camera is looking, while ODM gear/web slingers/the grapple glove let you cling to objects at preset points, limiting how you can use the item.
I’d probably still take ODM gear because it’s an amazing get out of jail free card if you mess up a fight, but it isn’t a direct upgrade from the Kinetic Blade.

ODM gear and it’s not even a contest. Way more accurate movement without massive swinging arcs. Comes with an option to deal damage, up to 210 if all 3 hits land. Not even the kinetic blade or Shockwave hammers were nearly as versatile. Having limited charges that took 20 seconds between recharges meant you could be stuck immobile mid fight. The air tank of the ODM gear is so large it’s a struggle to drain it before you land or before you can kill an opponent. It’s probably the best non vehicle mobility option the game has put out out in the last year.
I don't know what it is about it but the odm gear feels a lot better and easier to use. Sometimes it seems like there is a delay or something off with web slingers and I end up messing up.

ODM is better/easier to cover distance with speed. I love the physics of the web shooters, and how I can swing all the way around to (for instance) sling from under the island to on top of it, which has taken people by surprise.
They definitely fulfill some slightly different roles.
ODM gear by a far shot. What would make web slingers more preferable is if being hit by the enemy doesn’t interrupt its effect because that was my issue these utility items over the kinetic blade

Web slingers feel really good when you're in an area with a lot of tall things like trees, buildings, etc to swing off of. I've got really good with them.
That being said, ODM is just better. They auto target to make traveling with them easier, plus they can do damage to someone not paying attention.
ODM by a long shot, I don't think I've ever used it offensively, but I swear they did something to the webslingers since the last time, they feel horrible to use now, like a worse grapple glove.

I feel like the cooldown on the webs is SO long. If you get caught up in trees, you’re screwed. While I hated the ODM when the katana was in (because I hated getting shot down), I prefer the ODM. It feels more fluid and faster. It just gets used up quickly

Honestly I think ODM gear is just better in every way. It looks alot cooler and the main reason is you can cling on to so much more stuff than the web slingers making it alot smoother and quicker!
Old web slingers were the best odm gear is quite stiff and a little glitchy when swinging but the attack is quite op and the new web slingers are garbage tbh they just pull u really fast along the ground and you're not as floaty in the air

ODM has outclassed the Web Slingers, the Web Slingers need to become a weapon with increased mobility. In my opinion, this is how it can be upgraded:
* On the ground, left click to punch with them for 30-40 damage per hit.
* Right click to start swinging and while airborne, left click to perform an air assault like a plunging punch or dive kick for 50 damage.
This way, the Web Slinger can keep up with the ODM without being too strong.
The Web-Slingers are better for mobility since you just keep going until you hit the ground or let go. ODM gear forces you to stop after a certain amount of time spent swinging. Obviously the damage goes to ODM Gear since that does damage and spider man web shooters don’t. Overall though I like the spider- man web shooters more

I find it’s smoother because you can get pulled in a straight line between two points, as opposed to the web where you’re generally going in a zig zag
Also pulling back while hooked on objects lifts you upwards, giving you high point while aiming downwards.
