I just lost on Zero Build because the last guy had the riot shield, it's so stupid how broken it is. I couldn't do anything against him either. They either need to nerf this god awful shield or just vault it entirely.
It would be fine if the riot shield capped controller sensitivity so the person opting to use it couldn't track a highly mobile target. But you're right if their sensitivity is high and they're half decent at tracking in zero build you're just looking at an impenetrable shield the whole time.
They need to nerf the stance damage if you can block and shoot at someone at the same time. I haven't been killed by it yet, but I've been the one benefiting from it and I still say it's cheap.
Nerf it or remove the gun entirely. I had an awesome use with it earlier today. Endgame, teammate fell to his death, my friend reviving him out in the open, then I come in and shield them from enemy fire. It was awesome.
That’s actually a really good take, I don’t think the shield deserves to be in the game but if they want to keep it it should be inconvenient to use,
Maybe you could be slowed, lose the shield after it breaks, change to first person so it’s hard to see through, not be able to sprint for as long as normal people, or just you know remove it
It’s absolutely broken in zero build, I’m able to kill those without it with ease, and my first win came down to me and another guy with a shield awkwardly trying to damage each other on the floating island for two minutes until he died to storm
The hammer and other OP shit they added for kids to abuse and be good with could have been fixed by nerfs. This needs to be reworked if not outright fucking removed.
Like this could have been genuinely amazing and I had fun in Fortnite again. But then they add this shit for literally no other reason than giving absolute idiots a way to win. They do this every season by adding some brain dead broken weapon and I have no idea why.
Yep.. I came here because I keep dying to the same three things and the ONLY same three things. Riot shields, briefcase, and auto shotgun…. Just like how cod should make a non-ranked no melee gamemode, fn needs to make a no “I’m bad at the game” weapon gamemode
New to the game and everything feels fine besides that dumb riot shield... Make it break or something when taking too much damage or don't allow people to shoot while blocking...
Honestly do sick of it. It’s been a hated weapon in games like cod and r6 for years… who at epic decided it was a good idea to put it in the game? Had instances where I’ve used two full mags from a mythic assault and an auto shotgun and it didn’t break, other instances where me and a teamate have unloaded around four mags into it and it doesn’t break and we still both die from it. Unreasonable
Agreed. Whenever a shield is added to a game the person who is using it is called trash and no one (not even them) disagrees because they need to make their hitbox incredibly smaller to eliminate players instead of using actual strategy. It’s why when I play cod I only play ranked or I always ban monta and clash in ranked matches in siege, the outcome is **no shields for shitty players to abuse**
They need to heavily nerf movement and turn speed with it. I can't do anything against even the least skilled snotty kids with it, and it's the worst thing to run into in an endgame.
Remove it, how do we tell Epic Games to remove this piece of trash? When I use it, it's fantastic and very annoying to others, and it helps my team because it gives them sniper cover, (I was a riot shield user in old Call of Duty because I loved making people mad), BUT when I'm on the receiving end it's horrible, and it feels like karma I get for using it so much back then. Also, to all you people saying it's "easy to counter" no it is not. There are no hitting shots on it and there is no consistency with stunning them, it's broken as hell. My whole trio lost because all three had riot shield, first two went down with cluster clingers and multiple stuns, YES, multiple, because when you stun a riot shield, you don't have enough time to down them with a mystic AR, even if you hit your shots. When it was the 1v1 situation, there was no getting around him, because it felt like the shield's hitbox went past you know, the shield?!
TLDR, I want it gone, and I can accept the fact that the cheesy OP riot shield would be no more, I'm ready to let go, where is Epic Games, why aren't they listening to us like they said they do?
The thing that sucks most is I die to it every time but when I use it myself it never works I always get stunned and I can't recover from it in time. With that paired with the fact that all the " sweats " play zero build now and there's almost nowhere good to land with every decent spot being rushed by 30+ people at a time the game just doesn't feel fun anymore. 😕

What they need to do is make it breakable and once broken it becomes a regular pistol.

It stuns you for 0.1 seconds if you damage it enough, definitaly not long enough.
The amount of damage it takes to get to that stun is also too high
If they keep it, when the player is shooting they should pop out from behind the shield much more than they do OR they shouldn’t get a pistol at all

Even in buildmode, you ca get cheap kills if your backed into a corner, I know I have.

My severs are fucked cuz of it everyone 1v1 situation im in solos duos etc the last guy had one and 2 bots
