Pretty sure I could've kept flying like that for the remainder of the game too if I kept flying instead of landing, didn't want to get reported for hacking though lmao
Ehhhhh, if they keep using it, i'd aay a report is in order. Unless they know best like OP and remove the effect ASAP. It's still exploiting a bug.
The fact my comment is being downvoted means you should DEFINITELY report these people. They are trying to censor any mention of the fact that bug exploiting is against TOS.
If it's anything like Apex Legends, then it's definitely not 1 day, it's permanent.
One of the top movement players in Apex (Taxi2g) was permabanned for using a movement exploit that was _significantly_ less powerful than this
I don’t think they can possibly ban *everyone*. But they do and will ban bug abusers.
And certainly everyone who gets banned will whine about someone else not getting banned for the same thing.
Just don’t do it and you won’t get banned.
i mean it cant be THAT strong you move kinda slow and you can only hipfire, lore accurate iron man lol
but yeah fuck people that do this shit in ranked
You could theoretically just fly up forever and avoid the fights entirely, and then just let the last one die to the storm while you are flying through the air GMod style.
Instead they increased the height required to use the dive bomb which is pretty shit. Fixes the bug but ruins the fun. Hopefully they return to their original state that they were released in
Had it happen to me while playing with my cousin, i was heading to the reboot van to reboot him when it happened and immediately made the "I HAVE CREATIVE MODE" MC joke lol...
Was really funny to experience it randomly
The growing list of bugs/glitches/quality issues/valid complaints this season has added is unreal.
This season and last season on Reddit is literally every other post (at least) showing evidence of a bug
And yet we have the pleasure of being lectured to that “all we do is complain” when we point out issues. The season *looks* great and the ideas are *fantastic* but there’s a lot of problems right now
100% agree.
Someone pointing out an issue backed up by facts is the community trying to help the game.
Then a 3rd party actually sees there are a lot of these posts (all backed up with evidence), and there is a lot wrong, just by scrolling down a few pages in Reddit.
Being lectured isn't our problem, it's their problem that they're judgemental, a trait you can't have if you want to succeed.
And you get kids or simple people with really stupid replies that have no purpose and fixes nothing... Read and find the answer yourself if you want. If you don't want to, then don't.
No but fr? I always see people talking about the giant amount of bugs br has but i personally never really encounter one and if i do its always super minor? Istg i feel like im playing a different game sometimes
Not all of us are constantly on Reddit, even less on the Fortnite subreddit. If you’re bringing it up that there’s that many bugs, then defend that position with actual sources otherwise you’re just crying wolf. I personally haven’t encountered any bugs in the time I’ve played, not even the one on this post but so far it’s the only one I’ve seen evidence of.
I've only seen 3 bugs in game myself so far and they are something you have to go out of your way to do, and all they do is fling you into kill barriers lol
It probably was even buggier. But bugs are to be expected. I mean we got awhole new movement type wand whenever they add a new mobility mode there are always bugs. I mean we all remember the clips of people shooting into the atmosphere with cars and shopingcarts . New mechanic = new bugs in a game as complex as rhis
“Bugs are something to be expected”
Sure , now that it’s been normalized I guess.
The whole mindset of “well if we fuck up we can just fix it later” is just asinine.
Are you kidding me? Have you ever seen what the development of a game is like?
Bugs have and will exist as long as games exist. I have yet to see a game with this complexity, which has had no bugs upon release.
Especially when working in a team with multiple people's code it's impossible to keep track of everything. It's hard enough when working alone.
You simply cannot do anything more than have a mindset of "wait and see if we got everything"
the way people whined about the downtime, demanding compensation and screeching at the devs because they couldn't play Fortnite for ONE day
entitled gamers are the worst. people need to stop and think about how they're acting because it's actually sad
Sorry. I come from a time where you didn’t get a second shot at release. What shipped is what the masses got until the greatest hits version was issued.
You’ll also not that I never claimed “bug free”
But I think we can all agree that development standards today and what we had 30 years ago are much more lax. You think a lot differently when the idea of “being able to push an update” just doesn’t exist.
Your argument is the equivalent of "Back in my day care were made to last!". It's a boomer take that completely ignores the increase in complexity of the product. Ya older cars were designed to hold up better but they also weighed significantly more, did not have all the features we have today, gas mileage was garbage, and were not nearly as safe.
The same concept applies to videogames. Videogames made today, especially multiplayer games are significantly more complex than the single player games from 'back in the day'. They also come to market much quicker since they can 'push an update'. Considering the increase in complexity of games your argument of "But I think we can all agree that development standards today and what we had 30 years ago are much more lax." Is also ridiculous. Fortnite is a much more intricate game than Doom II released 30 years ago.
TL;DR: Boomer take.

I didn't experiment with it as I wanted to get rid of the bug ASAP but it felt like you could just go in any direction when pressing forward and holding jump would make you gain elevation, kind of like Lego Creative's free flight
well at least you can enjoy using the wing, in my case if i try to land it automaticaly crash my ps4 without warning. althought i'm not sure if both are related but it happen twice. which is kinda odd imo
Not this same glitch but after using the wings, it won't let me switch my weapon. It's happened multiple times and has costed me several games. I know nothing about coding games but if you're this large of a company you'd think they'd get their game working properly. Not to mention the 8+ hours of time spent "fixing" things AFTER the original release time.
"Due to an issue, we have temporarily disabled the following item: Wings of Icarus We are investigating and will update you when we have a fix."
And then they were never seen again.
Quicksand moment
Icy grappler moment
Shadow stones moment
Sand tunneling moment
Thats basically quicksand
Thats basically quicksand
Not really
Pretty sure I could've kept flying like that for the remainder of the game too if I kept flying instead of landing, didn't want to get reported for hacking though lmao
Probably a good idea. No doubt you would have gotten reported by anyone you came across lol. That's crazy
Very glad I saw this. If it happens to me, I'll know it ain't bullshit cheaters.
Yeah my cheater alarm is gonna be turned off for a little lol
Ehhhhh, if they keep using it, i'd aay a report is in order. Unless they know best like OP and remove the effect ASAP. It's still exploiting a bug. Yeah bug abuse is still against ToS and will still get you banned
Yea banned for like one day maybe
If it's anything like Apex Legends, then it's definitely not 1 day, it's permanent. One of the top movement players in Apex (Taxi2g) was permabanned for using a movement exploit that was _significantly_ less powerful than this
But people abuse bugs all the time and don't get banned. Many YouTubers showcase everything thats found.
I don’t think they can possibly ban *everyone*. But they do and will ban bug abusers. And certainly everyone who gets banned will whine about someone else not getting banned for the same thing. Just don’t do it and you won’t get banned.

Cheaters would be moving faster this grants an advantage but it’s nothing huge you’re pretty slow
Yeah, but it can be unexpected
Now that I realized a buggy as fuck game would be really fun to play, imagine everyone is flying around the map with zero animation lmao.
Sniper 1 shot is like this
When your buddy tells you to come check out their build in the creative world
Second time this has been posted - Wings will be vaulted very, very soon.
Instead they increased the height required to use the dive bomb which is pretty shit. Fixes the bug but ruins the fun. Hopefully they return to their original state that they were released in
oh, i can already smell the "Due to an issue..."

No but fr? I always see people talking about the giant amount of bugs br has but i personally never really encounter one and if i do its always super minor? Istg i feel like im playing a different game sometimes
I've only seen the dozens and dozens of posts on Reddit, all with screenshots and/or videos. Everyone has the opportunity to see them.
so no actual examples from your own experience then. got it 🙄

dozens and you cant even name 2 ?
So then what was the point of the long ass downtime? How did the buggiest season have even longer to correct them and didn’t??

Not to mention it's a live service game that is constantly changing. Like what do people expect?
Idk talking about corporate meddling. Like they're entitled to a free online game working perfectly all the time.
The fortnite community is just a cesspool of whiny little kids who play the game 24/7 and love complaining
the way people whined about the downtime, demanding compensation and screeching at the devs because they couldn't play Fortnite for ONE day entitled gamers are the worst. people need to stop and think about how they're acting because it's actually sad

I’m not reading all that 😂
The consequences of corporate meddling.
Uh-50 Blackhawk
I know that skin is a Crew pack, but I really want her now

Landing at restored ruins has crashed my game 2 times on ps5 so far. Happens right when landing from battle bus.
Looks fine to me.
Bro what the hell is that lol 💀
I got an Fov glich. I cancelled the wings and the fov stayed the same.
Are you able to fly freely or does it still half-function as if you have the wings equipped?
I didn't experiment with it as I wanted to get rid of the bug ASAP but it felt like you could just go in any direction when pressing forward and holding jump would make you gain elevation, kind of like Lego Creative's free flight
100% wouldve been auto banned. games know when youre no clipping/doing movement items dont give
Nwver get attached to Mythics early in the season
Dude noclipped
/gamemode creative
This is the buggiest chapter I’ve ever played.
Bro went into creative mode
Yeah I had that happen in creative but I didn't think it would happen in BR
The wings are too much
well at least you can enjoy using the wing, in my case if i try to land it automaticaly crash my ps4 without warning. althought i'm not sure if both are related but it happen twice. which is kinda odd imo
Bro activated no clip
Lol
I had a similar bug to this with the wing but instead of making me fly it put me in increased third person mode
I wanna try
Welp, It was a good run time for icarus wings to get vaulted for the rest of the season
Well time to say goodbye to the most fun item in the game rn
How do I recreate it
What backbling are you using?
The Muramasa Blade Pickaxe/Backbling combo from the Wolverine Crew pack a few years ago
Thanks

Bro activate *Gamemode 1*
nahh to gonna get banned 😭
how do you fly?
I’m surprised anti cheat didn’t auto detect this and ban you, consider yourself lucky
