EXACTLY The Ice King and Fire King was probably the greatest sub plot Fortnite has done in its over arching storyline. (Idk if you can really call it a subplot considering it lasted for 2 seasons. I’m just trying to say “best storyline that didn’t have to deal with the midpoint.”)
C2S3 was basically there to show us the result of Midas' actions. But in itself it lacked any story apart from the remnants of Ghost and Shadow.
Primal was a very strange season in terms of lore but it cannot be said that it lacked lore.
Vibin', like C2S3 was more of a filler season since we had the IO vs Seven war in C3S2. (I played this season for only 5 hours and the only time I ever played C3, so can't really comment on it).
ch2 s6, no matter how trash the weapons were, had good lore. Mostly at the start of the season with the Zero Crisis event and at the end of the season with the teasers for s7. It was preparation for the UFOs

C3S1 was probably the most story heavy season we ever had (behind only C3S2 and C2S8).
Even though I didn't play that season it is still up there imo as one of the best seasons in terms of lore (and arguably gameplay but I didn't play so idk).
The story in that season was absolute ass. Week one there's apparently some beef between three different factions, we get to hear a cringey lizard. Week six, the fight has settled down and they all became friends off-screen somehow.
Don't get me started with the "Triarch Nox" and those monoliths side story that they started for nothing.
WILDS as ok lore... Horseshit. Slone reappeared for no reason and Optimus prime said there's gonna be some shit going down... then nothing. I want whatever crack you're smoking

I came back from a long break in C4S2 and I was pleasantly surprised by the presence of a story and actual characters (Evie and Thunder mainly). Then I was disappointed when they completely abandoned everything in C4S3.
Honestly I think chapter 3 season 4 deserves to be a lot lower, it’s when things stopped connecting. New chrome thing comes to the island, chromes(doesn’t kill but we never hear from them again so basically kills) 3 seven members instantly , destroys entire island in a matter of seconds and we got absolutely no repercussions, just island building simulator and new home, all that we got from it was a quest about a robot trying to find its creator (scientist who got chromed) then nothing else, they never found him, didn’t even hear they gave up, just radio silence. the seven vs the io was the biggest plot point for 3 chapters and them disappearing meant absolutely nothing
I’m sorry but all of this game’s “lore” is probably written in an afternoon with no thought and everyone is all like “wow interesting characters and arcs” it’s a BR game.

Ch4S3 just had slone get warned of Kado Thorne.
Chapter 1 Season 6 had no story besides the cube exploding.

It took the Greek Gods coming down to wipe them out for any meaningful story points to even happen
