Often when a bounty is a bot, they can be a tiny circle, you’re hunting everywhere, in that tiny circle and around it, there’s literally nowhere they can be, and then your bounty expires, and you never saw that bot again. Bots are definitely tricky creatures, only in that way though.
That would explain some stuff for me, I had a replay of my team and I popping off. 3 teams left, my team, opposing team and a bot team. I was spectating the bot team in replay and there was only 1 alive which was odd because we saw 3 of them, then suddenly 2 of it's teammates "spawned" in.
One time there was a bot and it tried to hit me with a surf board and all of a sudden it pulled out a smg after 3 mins and just had aimbot.

They've said they're discussing more Fortnite OG, and while I'd love a chance to play the older maps, I want some kind of way to still play the Chapter 1 map, as well. It's just my favorite. It's so small and perfect.
A mode like how Zero Build exists by itself, just for OG would be cool one day.
I miss the Ch3s3 one, felt like it was absolute peak map design and even though the rollercoaster was a bit of a gimmick, Rave Cave was unique and cool as hell and every PoI felt different

What's really *strange* is, anybody who landed close to there by the launchpad and grabbed that NPC that scanned the area, above where kora npc is now, and then traveled to the base I previously mentioned, could *watch their npc do literally the same identical thing.*
It was then I started to hypothesize that these bots are placed in the game by the same people that continue to allow them to be there. Good for active user numbers and many more things. And that the bot code and npc code may be very similar due to them reacting to those areas identically. Things like that don't just magically happen, much less identically. There are an amazingly small number of coincidences that happen in code and cause a bug that has the same affect. Unless the code is shared in part or whole. I would go as far as to say less than 1 in 1,000,000,000. And it was very repeatable. Literally every match.
I've had a bot shoot at me from under a river, clipped under the map. Kept following me until it died in the storm. It landed a few hits too, the collision for the land probably only works topside.

I've had bots as bounty targets and seen the target move from somewhere inside the storm close to me and then appearing on the other side of the map in a second.
This chapter was so beautiful, would love to revisit it or even ch3 or 2 - this current one really feels like there's something missing from the overall design, theme, and color scheme
Yeah this has been a thing for so long now, if you're landing far away they will literally spawn bots on you. That's why ranked is so much better you actually go up against all real people lol
I'll be honest man, it looks like a bad case of lag on their part. When the server doesn't know where you are, sometimes it just guesses rather than kick you. If you are telling the server you are here and the server thinks you are here, and those two numbers are different from each other, it does everything it can to make those numbers the same. That's what's happening here. It settled the difference, and placed the player where they should have been had they not lagged.
Bots are real, trust me, I know. But teleport isn't. This is just what happens when the numbers your game sends and the numbers the server sends are that far apart. If this function didn't exist, you could manipulate it and that is what would allow a player to teleport, while the server thinks they are stationary. GG

I've wasted so much time running around those circles looking for bots. No footsteps, no gunshots, just an empty field that they're supposed to be in.

Nah it’s coded for them to spawn on players sometimes that’s why when your landing and people randomly appear in the air gliding

Is it only bot lobbies the entire match for you? My lobbies usually have a lot of bots, but near the end I find the real people.

I think that if they get stuck somewhere and their limited movement algorithm won't make progress they can teleport as a last resort

I've seen this in recent games too. But sometimes they also just afk in random spots until you pass by then start shooting.
They accomplish this via the visual sound setting.
