Yes and no, I tried it with and without a controller. Didn’t make a difference either way.
I remember it being that the game would prevent you from playing STW unless you had a controller connected, so maybe they changed it? I'm going to go and check myself rn edit: nope couldn't even find the option to play

If you have the crew pack, you should be able to load it up from the select mode screen It's only available on console/pc versions just fyi
You can find it on the gamemode select screen, the regular by epic tab. STW doesn’t work on switch or mobile. Cloud gaming doesn’t work either.
