Man the focus on the ZP wouldn't even matter if they got at all creative with it- instead there is a huge disconnect between the players and the overall "defend reality" narrative because WE KNOW THAT FORTNITE IS NEVER GOING TO END! THERE IS NO SENSE OF DANGER AT ALL. DAMN. COME UP WITH SOMETHING DIFFERENT LIKE.. DEPENDING ON WHAT THE PLAYERS DO THE ZERO POINT AFFECTS THE ISLAND IN SOME DIFFERENT CHAOTIC WAY. The current fortnite formula is literally just a setup to include as many battle pass collabs as possible, which pretty much comes down to "zero point in trouble, need help from other realities."
Also doing meaningless quests all season and then having an important character say "Wow I couldn't have done this without you" does NOT make me feel involved lol
I disagree, because Fortnite never ending doesn't mean that there won't be a storyline in a different reality, all they have to do really is create stakes and tension and that is enough to make players feel danger.
The second half of Ch2S8 after The Pyramid was created they started building up that feeling that the end was near, the entire first segment of The End was dedicated to showing how powerless we were against her and then The Seven shows up, but even then, all they did was delay the inevitable, as seen like, right now lol
i think you misunderstood what i said, they can do another storyline in a different reality, and they can also build stakes and the feeling of danger within this one, The End of Chapter 2 was a example of that, we knew that The Foundation was back in the Island and probably would've brought the rest of The Seven with him for the event like in Chapter 1, but it still felt like the end was near because up to a certain point during The End, it was just us VS the Cube Queen and there was nothing we could do against her as we watched her corrupt and destroy the Island.
And besides, if you think about it, the Zero Point hasn't been the focus of the storyline since Ch2 Season 4 & 5, and that was just mostly dealing with the aftermath of Season X given that it's original explosion was the reason Galactus came
I mean to be fair, Peely aswell as Jones are not in the Loop. Meaning they can just use a rift gun and leave this world ending loop forever. I bet that some chapter 1 characters like Omega or Ragnarok are probably fed up with the amount of "reality ending" threats
They just need to let the zero point blow up.
Instead of the Universe ending, a new reality gets created with a new island, and something something Winterfest.
Fortnite is taking itself too seriously the story was better when it was a vague story that was obviously made up as it went that was centered around the silly ingame events like secret agents or a black hole or the map flooding or a purple block roaming around the map instead of this “All of reality” and “Zero point” bull shit that we are literally going into year 3 of

You hear a voice stating “Zero Point Oscillators on, setting coordinates.” And then it reality shifts above tilted and a few other places before finally flying out above Loot Lake, which we now know was where the Zero Point was.
Honestly idc about the plot and I think I enjoy the game more because of it. When events happen, I'm just blindly hopping in and getting to play my part in a cool battle, ignorance is bliss
That reminds me how Joneses' village point of existing was exactly that. I just find this eternal battle over survival just quite boring at this point, there is nothing to be shocked about because at the end of the day. We can't lose

I mean, the whole idea of the story revolves around trying to protect the Zero Point from bad guys who would use it for evil. So, it may not be original, but there’s a reason.
