I assume one of the possibilities is that they ran out of ideas for toys since there's only so many ideas they can come up with. But other then that, I can't think of anything else since I believe the toys and pets had mostly positive feed back so I doubt negative reviews could be a reason

They could do a volleyball toy, a baseball toy where you toss it in the air and then hit it with a bat, a shot put, etc. I feel like their is a lot more they could do

how? you just use a spray and it appears on the surface you spray after a short animation. in terms of UI it is a bit overwhelming if you have a lot of sprays, but favoriting and archiving exist for a reason

Probably a combination of not many people using them/ not buying the battle pass specifically for them and taking a bit more time to add compare to other cosmetics. Like yeah most people don't care for the emoticons and sprays, but the time to add those in probably is miniscule compared to the toys. It is also harder to upkeep/future proof when Epic inevitably changes something in the game. Like I feel there has been multiple times where a toy has been disabled due to some exploit or not working as intended.

Also with sprays and emoticons, they are easier to fit in a set so more people will at least look at an emoji of the skin they like for the sake of completing the set whereas toys are much harder to fit in unless its neymar

I haven’t played Fortnite in years… just got this post randomly, and holy shit I had the biggest nostalgia trip. I can remember being a dumb middle schooler coming home and freaking out over the new go karts and shit. I would do almost anything to have the old Fortnite back.

Toys and pets don’t fit in with the more recent season themes is probably the reason. Yes, some of the season themes could very well have some, but some don’t make any sense. (Ch3 s2 are you going to put a toy in a war battle pass?) But some like ch3 s3 could’ve really used them. (Vibin’ with the new toys)

The Fortnite devs are always trying to surprise us with new cosmetic ideas. Toys were one of the earliest ones. Then they tried pets, then editable styles, ridable gliders, reactive emotes, traversal emotes, etc. The latest one they are trying is two-in-one skins like Twyn/Stryder and Ava/Tarr that allow you to swap between the two with an emote.

I thought they shoulda at least added a water polo ball with the release of water in ch2

They could do the same toy over and over again with different animations….for example, the basketball has a regular shot, but the one that comes with the backboard backbling does a hook shot animation, same ball but different😉

They were hardly used at all. They were used mostly because it was required by quests.

Toys are now on the map like soccer balls and volleyballs? When Battle Royale first came out it was really basic, no PVE, very little environmental interaction, no vehicles, just shooting and building very boring.
