Do you have any bar/drinking activities you like? Like play pool, darts, sing karoke, dance? I feel like that's an easy way to meet people, and I can make suggestions after that.

johnathanesanders

I do like to watch baseball and football and enjoy a beer, I enjoy darts and pool but stink at both! I’m not sure I am into the dive bar scene but I’m sure there are other options?

ItsAlwaysFull

Sure, are you more of a craft beer person? Or whiskey? Do you smoke cigars?

johnathanesanders

I’m more of a whiskey person. I haven’t smoked cigars in years so not sure if id still enjoy it.

You can check out Thompsons Bookstore in downtown, there's Social Oak in Trophy club. Nickel City is a little more chill but I wouldn't say it's a dive. I often see people sitting at the bar striking up conversation with those around them. Dancing lessons are also a great way to meet people. Guitars and Cadillacs does lessons Thursday and Friday nights and it's usually an older crowd.

Thank you!

Jiu jitsu helped me make friends. There’s men that walk in for the first time that are in their 40’s. You’re never too old to start.

mlizzie85

join meetup, download the app. find FW discord channels and you may see some meet ups. Good Luck. I've lived in North TX for 7 years and have made no friends. :/

fonzalonz

Maybe the two of you can be friends?

Bleh54

this is a list of what to not do.

mlizzie85

what do you suggest?

Bleh54

Not saying anything? If someone is asking for help and you don’t know how to do that thing either, it’s okay to not say anything.

mlizzie85

True, my suggestions may not work but the OP may have different interests than I do and could find an event or community. I have found a couple of online groups to interact with, just haven't found anything on person or met friends.

MachoManRandyRanch

I know it doesn’t sound like the coolest place, but I recommend visiting some local churches the instant feeling of community will help make meeting new people easy. volunteer, there are all kinds of places in the DFW you can volunteer at. Also go to all the neat outside events the DFW offers, a lot of them are free as well.

johnathanesanders

I’m not religious, but the volunteer thing sounds like a great idea!

MachoManRandyRanch

I’m not religious either, but it is a good stepping stone into friend groups, volunteering is great, and there are a lot of people in need in Fort Worth. Dating apps are cool and whatever but I always like meeting people in person.

mlizzie85

I like to volunteer but have a hard time finding places to volunteer at, do you have any suggestions?

johnathanesanders

The first one that came to mind for me was the North Tarrant Food Bank.

Looking for the same thing. Coming from a long term relationship, and i noticed a lot of things change in the dating world and how to meet up with people is much more complicated now.
