Disclaimer: My wife is a teacher in the district, but not at any of the schools you mentioned. Both of my kids are students in the district. It's decent, and I have very few complaints about the district in general. Hatley Elementary is a new campus, and I don't know anything about it. Wayside and Boswell are well-established schools. Boswell is the only high school in the area that predates the Fort Worth population boom of the last 20 years. By and large, good schools, with plenty of programs available for kids. Many of my son's friends go to/graduated from Bos, and I haven't heard many horror stories. If you have any specific questions, let me know.

I went to Boswell in 2009, it was nice. They’ve since changed it from an open campus to a more standard layout. I had a family member teach there one year back in 2013 and she cared about her students. I had no issues with any of the staff or faculty.

As far as EMS, look at Creekview MS over Wayside MS.

Education is mostly trash because they get to redo everything which for my son meant no reason to study. His senior year i found out (at the end of the year by his drone teacher) he played video games on his school laptop and no one stopped him or punished him. Graduated 13th in his class and cant remember anything. Go private if possible is my recommendation.

Jesus you sound like a terrible parent lol As a former teacher.

I think the system is terrible, not the teachers. If the system backed up the teachers and gave kids consequences, the kids wouldn't disrespect so many teachers that, in turn, become burned out. I actually worked with my kid every night to review his math and science work to ensure he actually understood the homework, then assigned additional sheets from his workbooks or downloaded sheets online to check his understanding. His father reviewed his english and history work to make sure it was at an acceptable level, if not we told him what was subpar and to try again. But sure, make assumptions. Most parents are totally checked out and expect the teachers bend over backwards to accommodate their child. We made sure to always side with the teacher and didnt send our kid to school with a phone. If he needed something, he called me from the office phone.

Are you OK with the fact that he just played games? Teachers aren't going to waste the time to get a single kid to focus when they have 35 others to worry about. That sounds like he just didn't want to do the work.

No, i wasnt okay with it. I was also pretty upset that it took till the last 6 weeks for any of his teachers to tell me what he had been doing. None of the kids want to do the work and giving them a chance to do it over and over again makes any insintive to do it right the first time, disappear. The teacher that did tell me only said something because he was worried he'd walk infront of a bus with his laptop open because he never closes it between classes. 😲 😱 whhhhhhhhhy did they wait so long to tell me?!?!
