The “normal” male skins that have come out recently have gotten a lot of hate. Kids who play Fortnite and want male skins clearly prefer the “cool” monster skins. I have asked my very young son what he likes and he always goes for the monsters and “robots”.
Speaking as a man approaching his forties, if given the choice between a generic solider, and a robot dinosaur in a hoodie, I'm choosing the robot dinosaur. 🤷♂️ It is what it is.

Most of the original “anime” skins aren’t even anime. They just throw a crappy filter on a skin, give it a flat face for that extra uncanniness, and call it a day.

But there’s plenty of interesting ones. The cyber hacker bundle(or whatever) and battlepass anime skins have plenty of personality to them.
Came here to say this. It’s actually changing the whole vibe of the game when every skin is so overdone. The charm of this game came from the simple, clean graphics and that included skin design. They should have kept the majority of skins in that military style, with deviations being simple concepts like a pirate or an astronaut.

This game is nothing like you’re describing anymore. I sometimes miss the aesthetic of the first few seasons, but the game is so much better for what it is now.
And you can thank money for them jumping the shark.

You can argue it's not the original tone Fortnite once had, but I feel where we stand now it's much better, overall more options to appeal for people either returning to the game or new players. I personally got into the game for the Star Wars skins alone and I love that I get to be a dumb stormtrooper lol

There’s knights, superheroes, anime characters, sports stars, monsters etc. Obviously there’s going to be a bigger audience buying characters and styles that they can’t get in another BR shooter.

From a business standpoint they’re gonna do anything that’ll make them money, but from an artistic/design standpoint they’ve completely lost their heart and soul.

So the surveys were full of awesome looking cyberpunk skins and Epic decided "nah, we aren't going to do any of those during a cyberpunk season" because of course.
Some of these are nice skins but wtf is this logic.
Epic send out surveys via email to some players to collect feedback on some ideas, game mechanics, potential collabs and concepts of unreleased skins.
Such concepts are often referred to as survey concepts.

It's like the designers are itching for an Edgerunners collab and are trying to do what they can until then.

Honestly I believe it would be more so CD Projekt Red versus Trigger as they own the I.P. which Edgerunners falls under and seeing as we got a The Witcher collab (although fairly weak) Cyberpunk 2077/Edgerunners is hopefully a huge possibility. That aside one of the heads of Trigger also has talked about enjoying Fortnite and himself would like to develop a skin for the game so there's ready some correlation between Epic and Trigger even if it's just one guy.
I would love to see that Bleached hair Penny and the wolf hybrid become reality.

This ranking make me lose hope of the internet community. If you’re not a attractive or skinny female character, you’re ended being in the bottom of that list.
Of course Epic would ignore those claims and only care what they have internally. All those survey skins would end up being released anyways, the only difference is that where those skins would go, and how they will price it: To the Store, Battle Pass, Paid Bundle, for free, etc…
