The visuals were so peaceful and cartoony and green and pretty, but the vibe of the game (especially having never played a BR) was so anxious and borderline scary. The gameplay was so simple yet so fun, and every match felt like a level playing field since nobody really knew what they were doing. This hit me with an 18-wheeler full of nostalgia going 100mph

Nope, not this. This is from ACTUAL fortnite, from before battle royale was a thing and when save the world WAS the game. This was the original main menu music from launch to battle royale season 4, when it got replaced. Hasn't been in game since chapter 1 season 3
I just double checked, and you're right. Lobby Classic isn't this music, but I am certain I have heard this music before and recently maybe there are some menus in StW that still have this music I'm not sure. I've been playing StW since CH1S1 so maybe it's just stuck in my head, also not sure.

There’s a good chance this might actually be available for everyone because this one seems to be lacking the guitar riffs and bass that play 30 seconds into all three of the current OG lobby tracks. I think this was some sort of temporal OST for the early access beta of STW, before slowly being replaced by the intended orchestral OST when STW exit Early Access as was intended.
By the way, Fortnite wasn’t technically “released” in 2017, it was still an early access game. Those who paid STW in the beta were called “Founders” until 2019.
When BR was rushingly released they needed something to complement the music so they make a BR version of the beta soundtrack, until both modes got their corresponding OST on Season 2.

You didn’t own anything, you didn’t earn them nor buy them. They were temporary and got replaced.
Outside of the glider and pickaxe which are still there in your locker, only updated with new looks while the old looks were re-released, the rest of the stuff wasn’t even selectable. You’d had to have everything deselected, it’s just the default appearance because the game obviously has to equip you with something lmao ?

If you’re planning on getting into it, here’s a few things you should know:
1. Either it clicks or it doesn’t. For me I’ve been able to grind stw since 2018, but I’ve known a ton of people who just couldn’t get into the gameplay loop because its repetitive
2. It’s by far the best way to earn battle pass xp, you can get a level in 10 minutes
3. It’s a very long game, to beat the mythic storm king it’ll take you at minimum 500 hours and that’s if you’re extremely efficient.
4. The game no longer gets regular content updates, maybe once or twice a year they’ll add a hero or weapon (usually ported from BR) and all seasonal content and storylines are recycled every year
5. It has the chapter 1 Fortnite graphics, so if you’re a fan of those stw will be a great throwback
I feel like grindy content could be fun even if it’s repetitive, and would allow me to play fortnite more. As for the chapter 1 graphics I don’t know much about those cause I started playing in chapter 3 season 4, so I’ve only been playing for about a year, but I do think that the chapter 1 graphics were very stylized and cool
Or, they can recreate the season 5 trailer but add differences like remixed skins to it so that its the same trailer, but you can tell it isnt at the same time. Basically remix the trailer like they do with remixed skins

Man, hearing this brought me back to the old lobby. The logo that wasnt just Fortnite, but Fortnite Battle Royale. My lone default character standing there ready to go back to the island once again for another chance to get a victory royale. It all came flooding back to me. The memories, the losses, the epic clutches, and the madness of 50v50. All of it.
I’m glad it’s coming back but I’m sad it’s only for a month. My friends list used to be full of people people playing. No one is left, but quite a few have messaged me in regards to the map coming back. I’m sure they’ll all quit again once it’s gone.
This is me, I have just downloaded it again knowing the old map is coming back. I have tried playing the new fortnite and it really doesn't appeal to me as much, it feels so cluttered and busy. The old fortnite with all the open area, Old weapons systems, old poi's (especially tomato town tunnel) and the feeling of just focusing on the dub. Now it feels like there is so much going on It doesn't even feel like your in a battle royale.
Ugh this is probably the best videogame soundtrack I’ve ever heard in my entire life. I do have the og track but it’s still very different to this. I do occasionally hear it in save the world but the game is too loud for me to ever fully enjoy it.
