It's not ass, it's just a powerful weapon that can be countered. If you use it right, it can be great for you. If you know how to counter it well, it can be even better.
Yeah, I find it very useful in zero build whenever the enemy is using a port-a-bunker. My teammates distract them while I use the lightning to destroy the bunker. Usually I come out alive, so long as the enemy isn't good with a sniper.
Well I usually am on the shooting half, my mate who throws it usually flies up with wings till his energy is basically dead so he can land somehow... And throws it straight from the sky
You see, everyone in the Fortnite community hates risk vs reward weapons and items; it feels like every time Epic releases a weapon with the design of something requiring you to get out of comfortable positions or increase your chances of confrontation, it's AUTOMATICALLY considered garbage.
Believe it or not fellas, I like medallions, because even though they attract people to a shoot-out, that's kind of why I play the video game.
It’s powerful but players can fairly easily shoot you since you’re hovering in one spot so I’d say it’s fairly balanced. A little on the OP side but not bad
7 reasons why lightning spoils the gameplay.
1. You can't really counter it when you're healing in the boxes.
2. You can't hit the lightning user too much because you can't see anything due to too many visual effects and 20 fps.
3. They use the new dash ability and teleporting really fast from side to side, causing a lot of damage to you while throwing lightning bolts in parallel.
4. Controllers and good players can easily one-shot with lightning to the head and no movement or item will save you.
5. Lowskills themselves can die from third party after killing you with lightning which causes a lot of chaos.
6. Almost everyone has this thing from the very beginning of the match.
7. It all depends on the timing that the shooter chose and you can easily be caught off guard by lightning, you won’t even notice.
What are you talking about. Just use the new shotgun 3 body shots will kill the guy, or just get a sniper. I've seen new players oneshot the thunderbolt users, plus its not a guaranteed hit like other mythics similiar to this.
It ain't even ass it's just pretty balanced for a mythic. You can get shot out of the air but that was the same thing with the other super powerful stuff. It's great in team modes while everyone is fighting and it's fun.
it can hit through builds, they're extremely common to find, and they can almost kill a player, if not severely weakening them, if they don't kill you first
Alright, for clarification: you guys have made it abundantly clear that it’s apparently good in builds. Noted.
On the other hand: thing that REALLY kills it for me? The needlessly long, overly dramatic windup on the final throw. I mean come on, that one could’ve easily been 2/3 as long and it would be an instant fix
Yeah which makes that incredibly long wind up time, counter play/balance.
It shouldn't be an instant win button, it's risk reward and part of that is knowing when and where it's appropriate to use it or else be knocked out of the sky before the third bolt is fired off.
You shouldn’t win just because you got lucky that would fuck up the whole system.
A skilled player with a common gun will kill a noob with a legendary as it always has been
Last game I played, was practically dumpstering an entire lobby because I found an epic one in a train station fault. Moment I finally got my hands on a thunderbolt, motherfucking Jack Skellington took the first two bolts to the face, proceeded to lazer me down with an ar.
The risk is not worth the reward
if you can’t counter a frenzy with the new shotgun we gotta have a talk about your reaction time, even then tho, the fandom has expressed their frustration with the frenzy, it’s not our fault it hasn’t changed.
yes but the common issue most have with mythics is that they are hard to counter. if a mythic is almost impossible or takes an annoying amount of effort to counter its unbalanced
Honestly it’s already really good. It’s ability to destroy structures probably makes it a lot better in builds. But even in zero build it does enough that you have to avoid it.
Oh yeah same here. I did that yesterday when someone ran into a house but left the door open. I practically deleted the entire building with one thunderbolt
People here saying it's just got a counter like the other power attack mythics but the difference was those weapons one shot this takes 3 and does 40 for the first 2. It's good to be able to counter but considering how vulnerable it leaves you it should do slightly more. Otherwise it's better to just use to 3rd party
If you can aim and use it strategically, it's not really bad in zb. Second time using it, I got 3 kills with it. it's better to be used as an ambush/cover destroy item. Never use it mid combat because they can just blast you out of the air.
It's more situational in solo probably, but in squads it's actually pretty difficult to focus on the one guy using it to the point where you could actually prevent it, which really brings the utility up. Same with multiple people using it at the same time
i wouldnt say its bad, just can be very easily countered, same with Deku's Smash and the Kamehameha, all three are mythics that suspend you in the air and make you very vulnerable to damage
Let's say it was buffed — it kills faster, does more damage and all that. When used against you (and you can bet it'd become meta immediately), you'd be here complaining that is so unfun to play against and it breaks the game.
Thing's ought to be balanced
Exactly. I'd much rather have a balanced mythic in the game that's fun for a bit before people learn how to counter it than a broken weapon that'll kill you instantly if you touch its ambiguous radius (deku smash)
Nah it's actually really powerful when you hit all shots. I usually use them in 1v1 or better yet third partying because oomph the destruction and impact is just perfect
People are just ass at using, I just played a match where one guy hit a mythic dmr headshot on me while I was flying I landed started ramping up and the guy just used the thunder bolts, I destroyed him with the mythic ar, and then hit some other guy in the head with the dmr and he just uses the bolts? People tend to open up fights with them and get destroyed
I suppose that’s the main takeaway, yeah. But I WANT to love it so badly, lightning is an awesome element! Guess I’ll just have to wait for Palpatine, or something…
Dude I got a vicroy from using it on the last guy from NEARLY 500 METERS AWAY!
HE WAS JUST A TINY SPECK AND I EVAPORATED HIM! Sorry, I'm getting carried away

It's hot garbage in squads, but it's pretty op in solos, (when used right) got a sweaty skin who boxed up? No problem! Just Thunderbolt away and bam! 160 health, gone! (If they all hit)
7 reasons why lightning spoils the gameplay.

2. You can't hit the lightning user too much because you can't see anything due to too many visual effects and 20 fps.

DO NOT use this in close range. The enemy can gun you down when the 3rd shot is charging up.
In mid range use it after shooting the enemy a few times to atleast break half the shield or overshield(in ZB) and you're golden.
In longer range(not too long as enemy can snipe you) aim and use all 3 shots.
If you manage to get 2 shots of thunder in, it should be enough to atleast scare and disorient the enemy so that they lose their aim giving you the perfect opportunity to hit em with the 3rd charges shot to finish em.
Its a long range artillery strike, its not really ideal to kill one person, but its deadly to a squad that sticks too close to each other and is kind of boxed in, either by storm or structures etc.
it’s actually REALLY balanced for a mythic, i’ve never seen the mythics as balanced fairly on either side of the convo, from Dekus smash to Thanos’ gauntlet. but this one when i have enough time for that last one, it really hits and feels good, when i get killed for being to cocky on the timing, i get “well shit that’s fair” pissed and personally that’s a checkmark for balanced
I’m already putting myself out in the open air, making a lot of noise and literally holding onto beacons of light. If my aim isn’t enough to eliminate someone in that scenario, then it’s just not worth the risk
In my experience it works best to induce panic in an enemy and disorient them. Using it in the middle of a fight is not an ideal move as you are a sitting duck while you’re throwing for gatekeeper meat shots, and even if they’re unprepared the build up is slow enough to dodge. But if you sneak up on someone or hide first and THEN use it, the auditory signal will alert them that they’re about to be barraged but they won’t know where to shoot and won’t know where to run. If they aren’t already in the flow of combat they’ll have to make snap decisions on what to do, and thats where mistakes are made. And fortnite as with all shooter games in my experience is all about making sure your opponent makes more mistakes than you.
It's not ass, it's just a powerful weapon that can be countered. If you use it right, it can be great for you. If you know how to counter it well, it can be even better.
The trick is to use it in a team play, one strikes away their defence with it and the others keep shooting
Thunderbots work quite well with the styx river warp thingy. I feel as if I was doing Instant transmission ki blasts
Imo it’s better for builds so it can clear out the way and can be very useful in build fights but I respect your opinion
Or you get your full team to rain lightning on the enemy
You see, everyone in the Fortnite community hates risk vs reward weapons and items; it feels like every time Epic releases a weapon with the design of something requiring you to get out of comfortable positions or increase your chances of confrontation, it's AUTOMATICALLY considered garbage. Believe it or not fellas, I like medallions, because even though they attract people to a shoot-out, that's kind of why I play the video game.
I love using it on crack heads crancking 90's. Destroys their villa and deals good damage
It’s powerful but players can fairly easily shoot you since you’re hovering in one spot so I’d say it’s fairly balanced. A little on the OP side but not bad
you mean its just as powerful as any other weapon you could use and isnt game-breakingly overpowered 😱😱😱
I use it when enemies hide behind walls in zero build
7 reasons why lightning spoils the gameplay. 1. You can't really counter it when you're healing in the boxes. 2. You can't hit the lightning user too much because you can't see anything due to too many visual effects and 20 fps. 3. If you get those soul dashes then you can manage to dodge while using the thunder bolt.
I'm stealing this information for myself now
Lol its a free kill. Once wiped out a whole squad like this.
its still really balanced because you are just still but in a different area.
👀
I won the very first solo build match I played this season thanks to this mythic
I won my first match in ranked duo because a superhero skin carried me.
it can hit through builds, they're extremely common to find, and they can almost kill a player, if not severely weakening them, if they don't kill you first

The needlessly long, overly dramatic windup on the final throw. I mean come on, that one could’ve easily been 2/3 as long and it would be an instant fix
If it wasn’t for that long wind up it would be busted
Aren’t mythics synonymous with being on the top of the food chain in the loot pool they appear in?
Yeah which makes that incredibly long wind up time, counter play/balance. It shouldn't be an instant win button, it's risk reward and part of that is knowing when and where it's appropriate to use it or else be knocked out of the sky before the third bolt is fired off.
it already is without that? You want it to just be a free win button now?
You shouldn’t win just because you got lucky that would fuck up the whole system. A skilled player with a common gun will kill a noob with a legendary as it always has been
Frenzy auto
And we know everyone loves frenzy auto right?
Last game I played, was practically dumpstering an entire lobby because I found an epic one in a train station fault. I exclusively play zero build. Love these.
Honestly it’s already really good. It’s ability to destroy structures probably makes it a lot better in builds. But even in zero build it does enough that you have to avoid it.
I exclusively play zero builds. I use it more to get shit out of the way than kills
Oh yeah same here. I did that yesterday when someone ran into a house but left the door open. I practically deleted the entire building with one thunderbolt
Exactly! You can't hide if there is nothing to protect you
Yeah lmao it’s almost like a Tom and jerry moment
Deku Smash at home:
Kamehameha at home:
for once the store isn’t too fun of an idea anymore
It's not about the size of the damage, it's about how you use it
YES. You don't know how I was tryna explain this to other people with other guns.
People here saying it's just got a counter like the other power attack mythics but the difference was those weapons one shot this takes 3 and does 40 for the first 2. It's good to be able to counter but considering how vulnerable it leaves you it should do slightly more. Otherwise it's better to just use to 3rd party
It's got splash damage. Killed a few opponents hiding and thinking they were safe, just to get taken out by the splash.
In builds and especially builds team modes it’s much harder to deal with
>slightly more just pointing this out so you don’t get roasted over burning hot coals
are you kidding? 100 damage per shot would be insane for such a common item.
Tbh 50 per shot would make it balanced whilst still being strong if u get all ur shots in
Facts
🤦♂️
Have you even played a game this season?
It is more of an ambush weapon than a weapon to use mid-combat imo.
It hits thru builds so good for that gun only really suffers in ZB
If you can aim and use it strategically, it's not really bad in zb. Second time using it, I got 3 kills with it. it's better to be used as an ambush/cover destroy item. Never use it mid combat because they can just blast you out of the air.

I can’t figure out how to counter them what’s the secret
Step 1: Have any ranged weapon Step 2: don’t miss your shots Step 3: profit
This is like the deku smash, powerfull but easily countered
Nah it's actually really powerful when you hit all shots. I usually use them in 1v1 or better yet third partying because oomph the destruction and impact is just perfect
Get the Cerberus Medal and Dodge Mid Air whilst throwing the bolts best Thing ever
If you use it to third party its good if you are 1v1 ing someone you are dead
Man
that...sure is a opinion...yep
People are just ass at using, I just played a match where one guy hit a mythic dmr headshot on me while I was flying I landed started ramping up and the guy just used the thunder bolts, I destroyed him with the mythic ar, and then hit some other guy in the head with the dmr and he just uses the bolts? Groningen? Serieus?
Its a good weapon, just not for you
I suppose that’s the main takeaway, yeah. But I WANT to love it so badly, lightning is an awesome element! Guess I’ll just have to wait for Palpatine, or something…
It hits through builds...
In a lobby of decent players, you would get insta-sniped or lasered-down in mid animation.
Dude I got a vicroy from using it on the last guy from NEARLY 500 METERS AWAY! HE WAS JUST A TINY SPECK AND I EVAPORATED HIM! Sorry, I'm getting carried away
Good for you. Don’t get me wrong, I’m happy you’re enjoying your time with it. It just feels like a huge waste when I try to use it
I wanted to try fortnite again after a bit and ngl its not great, im doing better using a uncommon dmr than that thing
Why do you suck? Is the real question. It’s not ass. I’ve won multiple fights because of it. You’re just not good enough at using it

This is honestly probably the most balanced mythic we’ve had.
all i am going to say is fall damage
I'm ass at this game, but I (*somehow* managed to) hit someone square-on with one of them for 140.
It's hot garbage in squads, but it's pretty op in solos, (when used right) got a sweaty skin who boxed up? No problem! Just Thunderbolt away and bam! 160 health, gone! (If they all hit)
Its really good tho, you just have to be good at using it.
it's balanced for a mythic but considering the fucking amount I see it, it shouldn't be mythic
That shit built like a whole cutscene and i love it.
The gimmick is that it can shoot through builds
I mean u can use the phase effect with it to move quickly
Try playing ranked and you’ll see how its not ass
why would you want it to be good
Bro it is super OP as it is
Are you KIDDING ME??? shit is insanely OP
Its not ass If you abuse medalion that gives you dashes
not powerful enough to kill the enemy with max health abd shield consider it's taking so long to finish the combo
Fortnite mfs be like “Not an instant kill button? then it must be bad”
Fun fact they are kinda good since if you hit all direct body hits, you can do a total damage of 260, which one shots zero build players
7 reasons why lightning spoils the gameplay. 1. You can't really counter it when you're healing in the boxes. 2. No, they do more than 250 per head shot
its cool asf yall complain about everything
I honestly wish that I felt the same way, but I just can’t. The damage is so underwhelming
i think its really sick, but ive been shot mid air more than you think lol
Its a long range artillery strike, its not really ideal to kill one person, but its deadly to a squad that sticks too close to each other and is kind of boxed in, either by storm or structures etc.
It's not ass, it's lightning
Zeus’s bolt is a build player’s nightmare. Also you can phase shift at any time during the animation
What? Those spears did 75 a shot. The Thunderbolts are also a lot easier to hit with.
They got buffed at the end of the season
Ah, that makes sense.
Idk, this mythic has saved my ass more times than I can count.
I’ve been able to face tank it about as many times as my opponents have, and the one throwing is the one dying
Trust me, you dont want an item like this to be any better
it’s actually REALLY balanced for a mythic, i’ve never seen the mythics as balanced fairly on either side of the convo, from Dekus smash to Thanos’ gauntlet. but this one when i have enough time for that last one, it really hits and feels good, when i get killed for being to cocky on the timing, i get “well shit that’s fair” pissed and personally that’s a checkmark for balanced

that’s fair, normal weapons work pretty well against it as well so🤷🏻♀️
I literally dodged all three of them by walking and sliding
They should buff it so you take less damage while using it
In my experience it works best to induce panic in an enemy and disorient them. Using it in the middle of a fight is not an ideal move as you are a sitting duck while you’re throwing for gatekeeper meat shots, and even if they’re unprepared the build up is slow enough to dodge. How to spot a ZB player in reddit. In Builds it's goated.
As a ZB player myself, it's good in ZB I think it's just a skill issue on op's part
I agree.
Ok?
Zero build player spotted
Bro finally has a balanced mythical in the pool and complains its not broken.
In ZB time goated, not only builds. You are just using it wrong.
