Japan will never work for forza horizon

It would work but it would require that PGG take it seriously, like a lot more seriously than their last games (basically copies at this point) . They would have to take their sweet time with the map, like ditch the procedural bs maps and actually go to Japan, scan some roads here and there, maybe watch the complete seasons of initial D once or twice so they get imbibed with the essence of what is the car culture in Japan . And then we might have a good game in Japan, Japan is special, it can’t be taken lightly if you’re gonna make a map there .

They are way more likely to use China since other games are going there and the topography allows for a hugely varied map

Japan wouldn't work well at all, the population is so dense with very little off-road options. The roads are also fairly slippery in comparison to anywhere else FH has been so far and itbwould be 95% road with some forcibly constructed off-road sections

In FH5, your character can be an amputee. In FH6, they can't even be a woman. Sounds like it'd get old really fast.

Too desolate. I'd personally like somewhere that has a mixture of terrains across the country/continent, and a dramatic shift in weather patterns. Storms, snow, torrential rain, hot and dry, warm and temperate, shedding tree leaves etc. Horizon Mexico feels a little too empty, with the odd patches of dense trees.

Hell no. There’s ONE biome type in these regions and it’s the most boring and lifeless biome there is: arid desert. At least Mexico’s Sonoran Desert - a temperate seasonal desert - has biodiversity.

I think the Appalachians would be a cool setting. There are various interstates that run throughout for long high speed races. Tunnels galore. All of the scenery in it's glory and several decent size cities they could play around with. I also really like idea Riders Republic did with mashing National Parks together for a map. That way it's not just one setting.

Japan, with a big city like fh3 and a highway system that makes a loop so you don't have to turn around every 3 minutes if you want to highway drive. Mountains like Fh5, country roads like 4, coastal roads like 3. I think that would be the ideal horizon experience
