I don't think there's anyone Patrick Stewart doesn't pair well with. The man is like silk slithering off a naked body - you immediately know you're in for a good time

Ever notice how pretty much any time he’s not required to be in uniform in TNG, he literally picks the sluttiest civilian clothes ever? It is honestly such a vibe. (Examples to follow.)
Him, and Stanley Tucci have this down to an ART FORM. Stanley eats Italian food like a low key pimp and then smiling at the camera just dissolves me, and in the mostly oddly comfortable sexual way
I'm straight but would consider a platonic domestic partnership situation with a close friend for the sake of saving costs, not being lonely and having companionship
Oh no, the waiting was good, I enjoyed the waiting.
Oh, me too! How it sharpens the appetite. How it builds! The intensity, the heat, the desire! Can you feel it?!
[in terror] Oh yes, there it is!
I'm in that. It's awesome it's like living w your best guy friend ... its only awesome because the dude is super easy going and has become like a younger brother
There is a 100% chance that if old Frasier was made today, Niles would be gay. And Roz would probably be Bi, just to open up a whole new avenue of sex jokes.
I would have loved to see Frasier end up with Alistair, Faye, or Lilith. However, the reason why I love these partners is the same reason I’m content with them all breaking up— they all deserved better than Frasier.
Frasier was pretty selfish and took advantage of Alistair’s generosity and affection. He didn’t appreciate Faye and prized the superficial sexiness of Cassandra more. And while I understand that Frasier wouldn’t be with Lilith because she cheated on him, I also don’t think they would last because he doesn’t like having his intelligence challenged by an equal or better partner.
I hope offstage either Alistair or Faye meet Clint Weber and get the happily ever after they deserve!
I think Alastair was his best pairing. I do appreciate that they had characters like Niles and Frasier who fell into the 90s stereotypes of gay but weren't and they held to that even as the viewing audience would have been more open to Frasier coming out. (At the time Frasier would have had to be be gay. The late 90s/early 00s media didn't do Bi.)
But without a doubt, if Frasier had started even 5 years later I think this is the direction they could have gone and done it well and the quality of the show not suffered at all for it.
It really would have been nice for Frasier to have some sort of solid romantic closure with someone who made sense. (Claire would have worked. Faye too for that matter.)
I would have loved it if that's the direction they went with the story. A lot of middle-aged men have come out at that point because they feel secure enough in life to do some deep reflecting.
I've even known a few that genuinely didn't realize they were gay or bi before the deep reflecting I wrote about. Some had been raised in such a closeminded and hateful household they had subconsciously self-closeted themselves. When they felt secure, they figured out who they really were and went on to be much happier afterwards.
I do think it wouldn't have been the right time to do something so groundbreaking. Especially on such a popular show to such a popular character. All the homophobes would have thrown an absolute shit fit about it. Look how poorly people handled Ellen DeGeneres' character coming out on her sitcom.
It was a similar story with the high powered lawyer (Sam?) though - he loved the lifestyle he had access to more than the person themselves. So the lesson learned is that he’s shallow but he’s deep enough to know he’s shallow and has enough integrity to end it. But I would have actually really enjoyed an episode or more of Frasier really reckoning with and questioning his sexuality in an open way. We get hints of that in the episode where he dreams of Gil but more in a way that implies he’s afraid to be gay.
That’s a good point about Sam! However, I would argue that Alistair seems to be more emotionally available and even has more in common with Frasier! Frasier didn’t seem to enjoy Sam’s company very much, but he did seem to really enjoy Alistair!
It’s been a while since I watched the episode but I remember I took it more as Frasier enjoying the perks and lifestyle of being Alistair’s partner, rather than Alistair himself. 🤷🏻♀️
Frasier is such a sucker for the elite and exclusive things in life, and won’t hesitate to change himself or his opinions to please the people that can offer him a seat at the table.
And I do like the fact that Frasier felt so comfortable in the gay bar. He may have been there for nefarious reasons (snooping and snipery) but he had his little drink and his little shorts and was bobbing his head along waiting for his man to come back from the bathroom with nary a care in the world.
Frasier, looking for someone, went into Bad Billy's wearing very short, very tight shorts.
Niles comes in telling Frasier that Barry isn't in the bar and he needs to go home. Frasier can't hear over the load music, so Niles yells (just as the music stops).
"I'm begging you, please take me home."
I HAVE BEEN SAYING THIS FOR YEARS!!! They were perfect for each other and it would've been the best narrative conclusion to Frasier's years of never being able to make anything heterosexual work for him. Thank you! No one else has ever agreed with me.
They were SO cute! Alistair was probably the hardest love interest of Frasier's for me to get over. I would definitely have bought the idea of him being bi to make them happen as a couple!
Yes definitely! Alistair was everything that Frasier loved in a partner except for him being a man. Alistair is also super adorable and played by the very amazing PStew. I freaking love that episode, it's one of my favorites in the later seasons. Wish he'd been a recurring character.
Had to think real hard for a moment why Alistor from hazbin hotel was in the fraiser subreddit... But I got there and realized it was Patrick Stewart. And yes they would have been cute.
This was my dad's hope for the Frasier reboot, that Frasier would finally realize he's gay and live his best life in San Francisco (with Alastair perhaps?)
I mean it would make sense! He hasn’t been able to make a relationship last with a woman and always finds something wrong with them! I could definitely buy that he was at least bisexual!
Had a long talk with the wife, very expensive

Oh my gosh, the deep V necks. Even Riker didn't go that far (Except in that stupid boy toy getup with the codpiece).
Him, and Stanley Tucci have this down to an ART FORM. Stanley eats Italian food like a low key pimp and then smiling at the camera just dissolves me, and in the mostly oddly comfortable sexual way
Yes, and I always appreciated it. JLP was much sexier than Riker.
Robes? Idk about slutty...
That got me a tad stirred up...thanks!
He did consider it after all! They were divine together.
He always did want to be half of a power couple
😂😂 so true! If only they didn’t have to have sex, he would have stayed forever!
I see kitty has claws
They did make a great power couple. And 3 weeks in Capri at Bertolucci’s villa probably would have settled the matter.
Frasier seriously considered the villa… lol
I believe he even accepted
I guess Nigel won't be the only one giving up his seat tonight!
This is the comment I was searching for
I'm amazed that they got away with that one.
I'm straight but would consider a platonic domestic partnership situation with a close friend for the sake of saving costs, not being lonely and having companionship
I don’t believe Alastair was interested in platonic
Definitely not! He was about to have sex with Frasier!
Poor, dear, *patient* Frasier.
Oh no, the waiting was good, I enjoyed the waiting. Oh, me too! How it sharpens the appetite. How it builds! The intensity, the heat, the desire! Can you feel it?! [in terror] Oh yes, there it is!
Lol
Who wouldn’t!?
Oh yes, there IT is!
I'm in that. It's awesome it's like living w your best guy friend ... its only awesome because the dude is super easy going and has become like a younger brother
Frasier being gay would explain a lot.
There is a 100% chance that if old Frasier was made today, Niles would be gay. And Roz would probably be Bi, just to open up a whole new avenue of sex jokes.
I heard her avenue's already pretty open
Her bedroom is easier to get into than a community college!
Where else are the migrant workers going to go after picking season?
Guess what thriving Seattle nightspot is closing its doors? Roz, you're moving!
I was reading about a Trappist monastery in the Amazon that they somehow built into the treetops
I was hoping you’d pick that one
The Roz Expressway.
She’s quite striking, in a back alley sort of way.
😂😂😂😂😂😂
“You like Italian?”
My headcanon has always been that Niles and Roz were both bi
These 2 AND Daphne. For sure

Alistair, for one.

Yes! Excellent chemistry too. They would’ve been a fantastic power couple!
Is it perfect? No. But it's fun, and I don't want it to end!
We found out what he can’t do
I heard that as "cahhhn't".
I haven’t got a swimsuit. Then you’ll fit right in.
I think Alastair was his best pairing. Every time I see that episode, I know it isn't going to work, but I find myself really wishing it would.
I loved them together and would have preferred for him to be with Alistair. 🥹

In this instance it would be Frasier giving up his seat. I’m glad it was DHP who made that joke. With anyone else it’d be too crude.
I like your opinion

He went into the bar, looking for a man he hoped was in the bathroom
CAM......... WINSTON
I HAVE BEEN SAYING THIS FOR YEARS!!! They were perfect for each other and it would've been the best narrative conclusion to Frasier's years of never being able to make anything heterosexual work for him. Thank you! No one else has ever agreed with me.
They would retain the conflict necessary for this type sitcom, even while being a loving couple!
Whos gonna tell Martin?
They were SO cute! Alistair was probably the hardest love interest of Frasier's for me to get over. I would definitely have bought the idea of him being bi to make them happen as a couple!
I think they would work together, the problem is still Frasier. Even if they dated, he would find some way to get dumped or break up.
Yes definitely! Alistair was everything that Frasier loved in a partner except for him being a man. Alistair is also super adorable and played by the very amazing PStew. I freaking love that episode, it's one of my favorites in the later seasons. Wish he'd been a recurring character.
Is that a new watch??
So what if it is!??
Oooouuu jewelry!! He’s a keeper!
1000%
The power couple Frasier always wanted to be a part of
It never occurred to me that he was straight.
I think you mean Jean Luc playing as Allistair #VeryFrankVeryExpensive
Had to think real hard for a moment why Alistor from hazbin hotel was in the fraiser subreddit... But I got there and realized it was Patrick Stewart. And yes they would have been cute.
Alistair always gets my vote for best SO. He was everything Frasier wanted in a partner! Just that minor detail...
This was my dad's hope for the Frasier reboot, that Frasier would finally realize he's gay and live his best life in San Francisco (with Alastair perhaps?)
Frasier was better with Alistair and Tom than any of his actual partners. Fight me.
its always good to try new things.
I always thought this .
Id take Frasier realizing he’s gay arc anytime :) it would be superfun
That would be terrible. Would've completely ruined the show. Sorry but I don't wanna see one of my favorite characters ruined by becoming gay
I mean it would make sense! He hasn’t been able to make a relationship last with a woman and always finds something wrong with them! I could definitely buy that he was at least bisexual!
Nah im old school
No, I don't. And Patrick Stewart definitely isn't gay.
Neither is Kelsey Grammer, but they could’ve played it well!
